Pelvic floor dysfunction has caused pain to the lives of the majority of female patients, and repeated visits to the hospital for treatment have also caused inconvenience to patients. Therefore, a portable pelvic floor dysfunction rehabilitation training system is designed to help female patients with personalized and private treatment. The pelvic floor dysfunction rehabilitation system realizes the independent training mode selection through the APP client, assists the pelvic floor muscle rehabilitation training through the electrical stimulation module, and can realize the recovery situation of the pelvic floor muscle strength in real time through the AD acquisition module. The experimental results show that the pelvic floor dysfunction rehabilitation training system implements bipolar electrical stimulation pulses, and the EMG signals collected at the same time clearly show the EMG signal strength and strength maintenance time.

Pelvic floor dysfunction is a common problem, particularly for women. A weakness in the pelvic floor muscles can lead to one or more disorders developing, such as urinary incontinence or a pelvic organ prolapse. To combat this, it is advised that the pelvic floor muscles are exercised to strengthen them and help them become more supportive. However, more than 30% of women are unable to detect their pelvic floor muscles to produce an effective contraction. The introduction of neuromuscular electrical stimulation (NMES) in pelvic healthcare poses a significant benefit in the rehabilitation of the pelvic floor muscles.

This study was to explore the efficacy of low-frequency electrical stimulation (LFES) combined with preventative pelvic floor muscle exercises (PPFME) and knowledge-attitude-practice model (KAP model) in women with urinary retention (UR) after a pelvic surgery and the effect on quality of life (QOL). The clinical data of 153 women hospitalized with UR after a pelvic surgery from January 2015 to June 2019 were retrospectively analyzed and divided into the Control Group (CG, n=45, LFES+PPFME) and the Study Group (SG, n=108, LFES+PPFME+KAP model) according to the different treatment methods. Following indicators were compared between the two groups: clinical efficacy, time to first urination, urine output, rate of extubation in 3D, rate of repeated intubation, urodynamic indicators before and after treatment, postvoid residual (PVR), bladder compliance (BC), maximal flow rate (Q-max), pressure of detrusor at Pdet-Q-max (Pdet-Q-max), changes in QOL, incidence of urinary tract infection, and length of stay (LOS). Compared to CG, SG showed higher overall response rate (ORR) and rate of extubation in 3D, shorter time to first urination, higher urine output, lower rate of repeated intubation and incidence of urinary tract infection, and shorter LOS (P<0.05); both groups achieved improvements in urodynamic indicators and QOL score after treatment (P<0.05); the urodynamic indicators and QOL score in SG were better than the CG’s (P<0.05). LFES combined with PPFME and KAP model is effective in treating women with UR after a pelvic surgery by efficaciously improving patients’ urination and QOL.

Background. Pathological vaginal discharge is the most common disorder in women after giving birth who have vaginal relaxation syndrome and vaginal wall prolapse, as well as in women during menopause. To date, there are no clear treatment regimens for mixed vulvovaginal infections, and the use of only drug therapy in patients with pelvic organ prolapse and genitourinary syndrome of menopause in combination with diseases which are accompanied by pathological vaginal discharge does not give a long lasting result and is characterized by frequent relapses. In this regard, the use of laser methods in combination with drug therapy may lead to the recovery of vaginal microbiocenosis and a decrease in the number of relapses of diseases which are accompanied by pathological discharge from the genital tract. Results. Description. This article presents a clinical case and description of the experience of using a neodymium laser for the treatment of a patient with recurrent mixed vulvovaginitis, 2nd- degree vaginal wall prolapse, loss of pelvic floor muscle tone, vaginal relaxation syndrome and sexual dysfunction using neodymium laser. The woman received 3 procedures of exposure to a neodymium laser with an interval of 2830 days. After 3 procedures of exposure to a neodymium laser, the patient has a good clinical efficacy in the recovery of vaginal microbiocenosis. Conclusions. An innovative technique of exposure to Nd:YAG neodymium laser in the practice of a gynecologist has shown high clinical efficiency in the treatment of not only pelvic floor dysfunction, but also mixed vulvovaginitis. And, despite this aspect of the use of laser technologies requires further study, we can use a neodymium laser in combination with traditional drug therapy to treat diseases which are accompanied by pathological discharge from the genital tract in cases of ineffective drug monotherapy and frequent relapses.
