Management education in India gained demand with the opening of the economy in 1991. Many institutes and colleges have come up since then to offer Post Graduate courses like Master of Business Administration (MBA) and Post Graduate Diploma in Management (PGDM) to the students. There is a widely prevalent perception among all stake holders that the quality of management education has been suffering, with only about 10% of the B-School graduates employable, which in turn has been attributed to the lack of employability skills among the B- school graduates. The study identified the key dimensions of employability skills perceived to be beneficial through a survey of alumni from the Kerala based management institutes. The set of higher education skills expected of management graduates, as per the Framework for Higher Education Qualification (FHEQ) in UK was combined with employability skills propounded by other researchers and assessed with 28 qualification descriptors under six dimensions for employability skills.

Purpose – The purpose and value of management education was always under the critics’ scanner but the proliferation of institutes impelled a serious debate on its quality. The purpose of this paper is to identify the factors affecting quality of management education in India and explains their nature, significance and mutual influences using interpretive structural modelling (ISM). Design/methodology/approach – The factors were listed through literature review. They were then validated by empirical research conducted through questionnaires administered electronically and personally to 220 master of business administration students and alumni. On 13 such factors finalised, a qualitative and interpretive tool, ISM was applied. Findings – Leadership emerged as the most important factor followed by organisational structure and practices. Interrelations otherwise not easily observable established their prominence. An important fact that evolved is that almost all the factors have strong interdependence and have to be seen in coherence when analysing their impact on students. Originality/value – The literature until now has been highlighting the factors and their association with management education largely in isolation. This paper contributes to the existing literature by proposing a framework of the interrelationships of the factors which have a role in improving the quality of management education.

Quality, as we know so far, was originally developed in the manufacturing industry. In the area of higher education, the adoption of quality control has been superficial and diluted by the exercise of academic . Further, the prevailing culture of universities is often based on individual autonomy, which is zealously guarded. Thus, it is usually difficult to apply the features of quality to higher education considering the fact that quality requires. However, the quality of higher education is very important for its stakeholders. Notably, providers (funding bodies and the community at large), students, staff and employers of graduates are. The most commonly grouped dimensions of quality are product, software and service. In the changing context marked by expansion of higher education and globalization of economic activities, education has become a national concern with an international dimension. To cope with this changing context, countries have been pressurized to ensure and assure quality of higher education at a nationally comparable and internationally acceptable standard. Consequently, many countries initiated “national quality assurance mechanisms” and many more are in the process of evolving a suitable strategy. Most of the quality assurance bodies were established in the nineties and after a few years of practical experience, they are rethinking many issues of quality assurance. At this juncture where countries look for experiences and practices elsewhere, the experience of India has many valuable lessons and this report is an attempt to share those developments..

India, being a country with a majority youth population, has a good opportunity to strengthen its economy in the next few decades. However, this could only be possible, if the youth population is trained with the required skill-set for the job market with improved opportunities for higher education. Unfortunately, the percentage of higher education enrolment does not possess encouraging numbers due to various social & economic reasons. The ratio in the coming years can be improved by offering the higher education courses in open & distance learning mode (ODL). Recently University Grants Commission (UGC also eased the norms for the higher educational institutes to offer ODL programs. However, the present ODL programs that are being offered were challenged with (i) lack of quality checks (ii) lack of paradigm shift in the course delivery, which is still through correspondence mode (iii) the degrees offered by the distance mode are not on par with regular courses. In this view, it is time to assess the quality of the present ODL programs and the necessary steps have to be initiated to improve the quality of the program. Due to the COVID 19 pandemic condition, major parts of the world dependent on online classes for the delivery of the regular courses, in this view, various tools for delivery and assessment are being widely used/developed. The integration of these tools with the present corresponding courses shall improve the quality of the courses. Herein, we comprehensively present the above-mentioned problems and solutions to improve the quality of ODL courses in India.

The situation of higher education in India does not concur with the worldwide benchmarks. Consequently, there is sufficient defense for an expanded evaluation of the quality of the nation's instructive foundations. Traditionally, these foundations accepted that quality is controllable by intrinsic assets, for example, knowledgeable and learned faculty with an impressive set of degrees and experience detailed at the end of the institute's admission brochure, and extrinsic assets like huge library rich with number of books and journals in the library, an ultra-modern campus, and size of the endowment, etc. This chapter aims at reviewing the higher education approach to quality management from an Indian perspective and deliberates on the tools and techniques like SIX SIGMA, LEAN, and TQM, most commonly used in higher education.

Objective: The tremendous growth in the preparation of higher education institutions for management – marketing, has resulted in the need for and necessity to discuss the quality of that education. From here, the aim of this research was to determine the factors that affect the quality of management education in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and to clarify its nature and importance, and the mutual effects on the quality of learning outcomes for marketing education at the individual student and program level, and at the level of the educational institution and its competitiveness. Design / Methodology: The determination of the factors affecting the quality of management education through a review of the literature and then testing its validity and its effects on the quality of marketing education outcomes at the individual, program, and institution level through practical study using survey lists for the teaching courses of government and private universities in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Findings: The studies showed that almost all of the factors studied are highly reliable among themselves, and that they must be seen as coherent, when analyzing their impact on the learning outcomes of marketing education. Applications: The study provided guidance for, administrators, curriculum and course designers, and marketing teachers, to design high-quality marketing-management education programs, and in developing a self-diagnostic tool in which universities can determine their susceptibility to success and competition. Rooting / value: the current literature has shed light on the factors affecting the quality of management education. However, it was taken separately. Therefore, the research contributes to the existing literature by identifying the interrelationships between these factors, which have a role in improving the quality of marketing education.

Does Public Administration Higher Education in CEECs Reflect Demands Created by NPM Reforms? The first part of the paper summarizes NPM approaches in public administration reforms in the countries of Central and Eastern Europe (CEECs), and focuses particularly on contracting of public services delivery, outsourcing of supportive services in public organizations and Program (performance) budgeting and performance evaluation and financing. The problems discussed in the first part open a discussion on public management education of civil servants in CEECs with which deals the second part of the paper. The data available clearly indicate that the contents and quality of public management higher education in the three selected countries - Slovakia, Czech Republic and Poland - do not meet the current needs of a modern state.

India is facing a big debate on various social, economic and political issues which remained around corruption and poverty; how they can be eradicated from our society. Uttar Pradesh (U.P.) is the most populous state of our country with over 16.4 % of countries total population. Moreover with 9% of the country’s total geographical area, U.P. is the 4th largest state of our country. The median age of U.P. is 20 whereas that of India is young 24 years as in 2011. Though U.P. is the youngest state in India and has a rich cultural heritage but when it comes to literacy and gross enrolment in higher education, it is far behind other states. In order to create a responsible environment, management education can work as a very effective tool. In order to tackle the challenges faced globally such as corruption, poverty and workforce diversity, the United Nations has developed Responsible management initiative. The objective of this paper is to present the structure and different channels of management education in India with special reference to U.P. state. The focus is on identifying critical factors in integrating responsible management education in Higher Educational institutions with reference to sustainable development.

The current study looked at how computers help students of different reading abilities. Studies have been conducted on the effect of computers on educational achievement and attitudinal levels. During this study, we have gone through the impact of Bloom’s taxonomy over the conventional system and then focused on integrating CAI in higher education. This research is branching out to encompass the use of computers in the education system. The paper aims to outline and elaborate on the way computers aid every department of life, including education. Information is much more valuable when presented within the context of education or training. Teaching to reflect well is known as “advance” teaching. This research paper is concerned with the educational faculties, facilities, and the organizational structure of the educational process. This study aims to focus on CAI to improve the quality of higher education in India. We have also discussed the areas where we can implement this technology
