The rapid growth in Indian economy for the next decade is expected to be sphere headed by the startup revolutiondriven by private enterprises. The growth that was witnessed in the last decade could also be largely attributed to MSME. MSME Businesses contributed more than 40% of the growth story of Indian economy. The almost double digit GDP growth achieved between the years 2003-2007 is a result of services and manufacturingsectors, taking off in a big way supported by the startup culture. The startup culture has started showing promising signal of significant contribution in Indian GDP. Particularly in the last three years the starts up fever has gripped this country and have the potential to catapult it into the planned path of economic supremacy. Angel investors, venture capitalist and private equity players in India and from the West have taken a keen interest in funding this technologically and financially viable option on a larger scale. However there exist gapsat the bottom of the pyramid where these technocrats are struggling to raise pre-seed capital which is essential to develop and test their prototype to prove their commercial viability. There exist a big gap between the demand and supply in terms of fund availability. This gap can be easily bridged with the help of popularly emerging option known as crowd funding. Crowd funding has become one of the most talked about avenues for financing of startup pre -seed capital requirement in the past. It has become very popular in the matured economies of the West, particularly in USA, where Web based platforms are emerged as reliable intermediary to bring suppliers and seekers of funds together. It has already begin in India and has provoked a healthy debate and discussion initiated by SEBI to its discussion paper. In this backdrop, crowd funding is an acceptable fund viable option for the pre-seed capital required in IT startups. This discussion proves the importance of crowd funding under regulatory framework and it has made the study not only relevant but also contemporary.

With the series of critical editions and studies of Arabic medical texts from the Middle Ages he has published in recent years, Gerrit Bos has made a significant contribution to the history of medicine in the Islamic world. He has dedicated special attention to the work of Abu Jaעfar Ahmad ibn Abi Khalid ibn al-Jazzar of Qayrawan, a 10th-century physician and prolific author of medical texts. Ibn al-Jazzar was famous and influential not only within his own Arabic– Islamic cultural domain but also—thanks to widely circulated translations of his works into Greek, Latin, and Hebrew—among Christian and Jewish physicians in the East as well as the West. (For Bos's publications on Ibn al-Jazzar's writings see p. 406).

Skills management is one of the key factors to address the increasing competitiveness among different companies. Suitable knowledge representation and approach for matching skills and competences in job vacancies and candidate profiles can support human resources management automation through suitable matching and ranking services. This paper presents an approach for matchmaking between skills demand and supply through skill profiles enrichment and matching supply and demand profiles over multiple criteria. This work builds upon methods for profile modeling, information enrichment and multi-criteria matching. The main contribution of this work is a methodology for harmonization and enrichment of heterogeneous profile models and skill set description by making use of the standard ESCO ontology. Secondly, an algorithm is proposed for similarity matching across multi-criteria for discovering set of profiles that best fits the job description criteria. A prototype web-based system has been developed to implement the proposed approach and deployed online. The system has been tested with real IT jobs related dataset and validated against relevance scores provided by human experts. Experimental results show consistent correspondence between the similarity ranking scores produced by the system and scores provided by the human users.

Remote rural populations do not often have the luxury of viable multisource electricity generation systems. Considering fossil fuels for remote populated areas is not often a viable option due to the fuel transportation costs and the population’s socioeconomic status. Extending the grid is often economically prohibitive. This paper proposes possible ways in which Mali could increase the rate of population with access to electricity by 2050 using Low Emission Analysis Platform (LEAP) and geographical information tools. The current energy situation is assessed, and multiple demand and supply scenarios are created to find the most viable option in environmental and economic dimensions. A minimum of 50% reduction of biomass consumption in the residential sector and a maximum of 71% was achieved through the combination of grid extension and decentralized solar PV. Solar PV becomes the preferable option when enough time for the effects of electricity on income is given. When these effects are not present, solar PV is still a better option, as the amount of biomass replaced with electricity is reduced.

Most historians describe the moral distaste for slavery as the sole reason for the cessation of the British slave trade. Data from the Caribbean, however, along with contemporary commentary, show that an economic crisis faced by sugar planters was critical to the timing of abolition in 1807.

The effectiveness of written education materials have been examined across the cardiovascular surgical setting. Inconsistent findings have indicated minimal changes to patient outcomes. The absence of significant findings may be due to the lack of control patients have over the frequency in which they can access information, the amount and type of content they are able to peruse, and the actual time the materials can be reviewed. A complement to in-hospital patient educational interventions is web-based patient education, accessed during the home discharge period. This discursive paper presents a summary of a planned web-based patient education intervention that has been designed for use by a predominantly elderly population. In particular, modifications to account for reduced visibility, decreased hearing, and onset of physical impairment are discussed.

Journey to the West is adulated as one of the Four Great Classical Novels in China, which has inspired a veritable cornucopia of sequels and adaptations. Tower of Myriad Mirrors (aka A Supplement to Journey to the West) composed during late Ming (1368-1644) is one of the three most illustrious sequels in pre-modern literature, in that it is characterised by vivid imagination and creativity, Buddhist ethos and philosophical thoughts, as well as biting satire on political reversals and societal predicaments in the 17th century. More significantly, Tower of Myriad Mirrors manifests psychological insights and features enigmatic dreams, which might have inspired a subgenre dubbed as ‘Quick Transmigration’ in China’s online literature. To be more specific, Tower of Myriad Mirrors is parallel to web-based BL (Boys Love) fiction under the category of Quick Transmigration, in terms of their analogous settings, storylines and characters. In this sense, Tower of Myriad Mirrors can be regarded as a prototypical BL novel concerning ‘quick transmigration’.

The West Greene School District (WGSD) in partnership with RJ Lee Group (RJLG) is developing innovative programs as part of the Schoolhouse Project to provide exceptional educational and business opportunities to its students. The objectives of the educational/business partnership are multiple including motivating students to pursue advanced education, especially in mathematics, computer sciences, engineering, and the basic sciences; enriching the educational experience beyond that commonly available to students in rural communities; and improving the general attractiveness of the region for business growth. Access to remote analytical instrumentation is a key component of the Schoolhouse Project. to this end, RJLG has developed Web-based technologies (WEBSEM™) which enable control and operation of a scanning electron microscope (Personal SEM® or PSEM) over the Internet. A key component of the project will be the establishment of an incubator laboratory extension of RJLG at the WGSD. This laboratory will function as a learning laboratory during the school day and as a business during the evenings and weekends.
