The polycystic ovarian syndrome affects women of all age groupsis mainly due to hyperinsulinemia and hyperandrogenism.The insulin action in the ovaries is mediated by binding to its receptor namely IRS (Insulin receptor substrate).The present investigation is undertaken to select a suitable antagonistic ligand from the bioactive phyto components of Tinosporacordifolialeaves to inhibit IRS1 and IRS 2 receptors to prevent the binding of insulin and subsequent hyperandrogenism.The phyto ligands used for the study were obtained from the previous literature and the IRS1 and IRS 2 receptor protein structure were retrieved from PDB (protein Data bank). Using the Corina 3D converter the ligand 3D structures were obtained. Molecular docking analysis was performed through Patch dock server to select a suitable ligand based on docking score for the IRS1 and IRS 2 receptor protein.Three ligands namely Berberine, Rumphioside I and Syringin showed better docking score among the ligand selectedand their inhibitory activity were analysed by intermolecular interactions using “LIGPLOT” analysis. It can be concluded that these three ligands can be used for the successful treatment of PCOS after proper preclinical and clinical studies.

Cancer is one of the most common diseases and remains a leading cause of death worldwide. Breast cancer is one of the major causes of mortality in women. It is one of the most frequent cancers among others. Due to its high mortality, it requires effective prevention. Radiotherapy, immunotherapy, and chemotherapy are the most common methods used to treat breast cancer, but these techniques adversely affect healthy cells. Therefore, an alternative therapy is required to overcome this problem. Phytochemicals from different plant sources are an alternative way for curing infectious diseases and now they are being explored for their anti-cancer therapeutics. In the present study, the BRCA2 receptor protein, which is actively involved in breast cancer expression, was chosen for the molecular docking analysis. This study focuses on evaluating phytochemical compounds from 5 different plants against BRCA2 breast cancer tumor receptors. Prior to computational analysis, a theoretical ADME study was used to rule out a few compounds. Virtual screening of these compounds identified five-hit molecules, which could be further explored in the drug discovery pipeline. Molecular docking analysis revealed that isocolumbin possesses maximum negative binding energy against BRCA2 receptors. These hits were found to be well in range in the bioavailability radar test as well.

Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome (PCOS) is multi-organ syndrome that affects 6–25% of females during reproductive age. It disrupts normal hormone levels of females and affects adrenal hormone and sex hormones along with pituitary hormones including adrenocorticotropic, growth hormone and gonadotropins hormones. It results in several secondary characteristics in females such as infertility, hormonal imbalance, oligomenorrhea, amenorrhea, obesity and hirsutism. Polycystic ovarian syndrome is associated with mental and reproductive disorder and almost 4–18% mature female students are affected by polycystic ovarian syndrome. Female affected by polycystic ovarian syndrome have increased risk of infertility, ovarian cancer, skin problems and psychological problems such as anxiety, depression and changes in sleep along with mood swings. This chapter discusses the Prevalence, Symptomatology and Management of Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome. For the management of PCOS, the role of some medicinal plants including Asparagus racemosus, Tinospora cordifolia, Foeniculum vulgare, Ocimum tenuiflorum, Actaea racemosa, and Lepidium meyenii have also been discussed in addition to other treatment modalities. The literature data was searched out and compiled using relevant original research articles and reviews published and indexed in Google Scholar, Scientific Information Database, Elsevier, PubMed and Science Direct.

<p>Due to the reported high ability of virulence of COVID_19 in recent months, several studies have been conducted to discover and introduce COVID_19 antiviral drugs. The results of numerous studies have shown that protease inhibitors , which make up the major part of plant derivatives can therefore be very effective in controlling virus-induced infection. The aim of this research is the bioinformatical study of COVID_19 inhibition by Secendary Metabolite of medicinal herbs. This is a descriptive-analytic study. In the present study , the structure of Secendary Metabolite and COVID_19 protease was received from the databases such as PubChem and Protein Data Bank (PDB). After that, Molecular Docking was performed by MVD(molegro virtual docker) software.The results are identified to have inhibitory activities against novel COVID-19 protease. Of these compounds, Curcumin has a stronger bond and high affinity with protease. Finally, with due attention to the high effectiveness function of plant compounds, we can conclude that these compounds may be considered as effectire COVID_19 antiprotease drugs.</p>

Background: Polycystic ovarian syndrome (PCOS) is a condition characterized by menstrual abnormalities (oligo/amenorrhea) and clinical or biochemical features of hyperandrogenism and may manifest at any age. It is a common cause of female subfertility. All the dimensions of PCOS have not been yet completely explored. Methods: It was a cross sectional comparative study carried out at-GOPD of Shaheed Suhrawardy Medical College & Hospital from January, 2016 to December 2016 on 162 subfertile women. Among them 54 were PCOS group and 108 were non PCOS group. PCOS was diagnosed by (Rotterdam criteria 2003) (i) Oligo or anovulation (ii) hyperandrogenism (iii) Polycystic ovaries. Study was done to evaluate and compare the demographic characteristics, clinical, biochemical and ultrasoundgraphic features of sub-fertile women with and without PCOS. Results: A total of 162 sub-fertile women aged 16-36 years. Mean age was 29.5±5.4. There were significant differences between the two groups in terms of (oligo/amenorrhea), hirsutism, WHR and ovarian ultrasound features. There were no significant differences between two groups in correlations between the level of obesity with the incidence of anovulation, hyperandrogenism or with hormonal features. Conclusion: PCOS is one of the important factors causing Infertility. It is an ill-defined symptom complex needed due attention. There is a need to increase awareness regarding. The clinical features of PCOS are heterogenous thus can be investigated accordingly of selection of appropriate treatment modality. J Shaheed Suhrawardy Med Coll, June 2019, Vol.11(1); 17-23
