ABSTRACTHydrazone, 1,1-dimethylhydrazone, methylhydrazone, phenylhydrazone and p-nitrophenyl hydrazone derivatives of substituted aromatic aldehydes were prepared and screened for second harmonic generation using the Kurtz powder technique. One compound, 4-nitro-3-methoxybenzaldehyde hydrazone exhibited a second harmonic signal up to 32 times that of ammonium dihydrogen phosphate (ADP) and 4-nitrobenzaldehyde hydrazone exhibited a second harmonic signal five times higher than previously reported, up to 40 times that of ADP. 3-methyl-4-nitrobenzaldehyde hydrazone, 4-nitrobenzaldehyde phenylhydrazone, 1-naphthaldehyde phenylhydrazone, 1-pyrenecarboxaldehyde phenylhydrazone exhibited second harmonic signals 25, 2.5, 5 and 20 times that of an ADP standard.

This work reports the influence of chemical composition and sintering schedule on the properties of sintered bodies of hydroxyapatite (HA) bioceramic. The method of preparing sintered bodies by solid state reaction and uniaxial pressing. The raw material used calcium carbonate (CaCO3) and ammonium dihydrogen phosphate (NH4H2PO4) powder as precursors. These powders were mixed at CaCO3: NH4H2PO4 mass ratio of 1:0.697, 1:0.692, 1:0.689, 1:0.685 and 1:0.68, respectively. The compositions in the temperatures range of 800-1300 °C for 3 hour. The sintered bodies were characterized by X-ray diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscope (SEM), and Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR). Properties including phase, microstructures, porosity and bending strength of the samples. The results show that green bodies can be sintered at 1150 °C for 3 hours. This temperature found that crystals growth, highest of HA phase content in sintered bodies, good density and high efficiency strength properties.

In this work, a simple chemical precipitation method was employed to prepare spherical-like Ag3PO4 material (IL-Ag3PO4) with exposed {111} facet in the presence of reactive ionic liquid 1-butyl-3-methylimidazole dihydrogen phosphate ([Omim]H2PO4). The crystal structure, microstructure, optical properties, and visible-light photocatalytic performance of as-prepared materials were studied in detail. The addition of ionic liquids played a crucial role in forming spherical-like morphology of IL-Ag3PO4 sample. Compared with traditional Ag3PO4 material, the intensity ratio of {222}/{200} facets in XRD pattern of IL-Ag3PO4 was significantly enhanced, indicating the main {111} facets exposed on the surface of IL-Ag3PO4 sample. The presence of exposed {111} facet was advantageous for facilitating the charge carrier transfer and separation. The light-harvesting capacity of IL-Ag3PO4 was larger than that of Ag3PO4. The photocatalytic activity of samples was evaluated by degrading rhodamine B (RhB) and p-chlorophenol (4-CP) under visible light. The photodegradation efficiencies of IL-Ag3PO4 were 1.94 and 2.45 times higher than that of Ag3PO4 for RhB and 4-CP removal, respectively, attributing to a synergy from the exposed {111} facet and enhanced photoabsorption. Based on active species capturing experiments, holes (h+), and superoxide radical (•O2−) were the main active species for visible-light-driven RhB photodegradation. This study will provide a promising prospect for designing and synthesizing ionic liquid-assisted photocatalysts with a high efficiency.

The capacity of 10%, 30%, and 50% ammonium dihydrogen phosphate were replaced with an equal amount of three phosphate (potassium dihydrogen phosphate, sodium dihydrogen phosphate, disodium hydrogen phosphate) respectively. Magnesium phosphate cement was made by phosphate of replaced, which strength, setting time, fluidity, hydration temperature, and the hydration products was researched. The results show that: MPC was made that replaced with the equal amount of three kind of phosphate, which has good mechanical properties. Setting time and fluidity change along with the replacment. Three kind of phosphate replace ammonium dihydrogen phosphate, which change the hydration process of MPC. When ammonium dihydrogen phosphate was replaced by an equal amount of disodium hydrogen phosphate, the temperature of hydration is only 69.4 °C. XRD showed that the diffraction peaks of composite’s magnesium phosphate cement increases.

Ammonium dihydrogen phosphate (ADP) crystals is very interesting due to its nonlinear optical property. This study investigated on improving of material for academic use by adding boric acid to modify ADP crystals. Slow evaporation method in aqueous solutions of pure ADP and ADP doped with three concentrations of H3BO3 as 0.1, 1.0, 5.0 %wt were studied. The grown crystals were confirmed tetragonal structure by powder X-ray diffraction studies. The FTIR spectrum analysis presented various functional groups of boron in three conditions of doped ADP. TGA study was comfirned the temperature stability at 220 °C for both pure and doped ADP crytals. The machanical stress was analyzed by Vicker’s hardness measurement. The results of this analysis showed boric acid doped 1.0 %wt had superior machanical stress from 10 to 75 grams. ADP doped with boric acid at 1.0 %wt was accepted in all test properties.
