The present paper attempts to study the performance of India in RFID research using a series of bibliometric indicators. As seen from SCOPUS database, India’s research output cumulated to 632 publications in 10 years during 2006-15. Indiais ranked13thtop country in the world in RFID research; it accounted for 2.58 % global publication. India showed faster growth rate of 20.69 % CAGR compared to -0.42 % by the world in RFID research during 2006-15. India’s citation impact was low, 1.32 citations per paper; its output in terms of international collaborative publications was also low, accounting for just 9.81 % during 2006-15.The top 15 most productive Indian organisations in RFID research together contributed 35.60 % publications share and 38.18 % citation share during 2006-15. The top 15 most productive journals together accounted for 47.44% share of total country output in RFID research during 2006-15. Computer science accounted for the largest publication share (57.44 %) in RFID research output, followed by engineering (49.21 %), social sciences (7.28 %), mathematics (6.01 %), materials science (5.85 %), business, management & accounting (5.54 %) and physics & astronomy (4.75 %) during 2006-15.

The study reveals that metamaterials research registered 15.27% growth and averaged citation impact to 10.08 citations per paper. The global share of top 10 most productive countries in metamaterials research is 84.97 % and their individual global share ranged from 3.30% to 25.57%. China accounted for the largest global share (25.71%), followed by USA (23.96%), U.K. (6.06%), India (5.26%), etc. Five of top 10 countries scored relative citation index above the world average i.e. more than 1: Germany (2.06), USA (1.81), U.K. (1.49), Canada (1.03) and Spain (1.01). The international collaborative publications share of top 10 most productive countries varied from 6.14% to 59.80%. Physics and astronomy, among subjects, contributed the largest publication share (59.36%), followed by engineering (56.71%), materials science (33.30%), computer science (20.32%), mathematics (6.74%) and chemistry (4.46%). The top 20 most productive organisations and authors together contributed 24.69% and 13.17% global publications share respectively and 35.72% and 25.96% global citation share respectively. The top 20 journals accounted for 45.97% share of global output (5743 papers) reported in journals. Of the total global output on metamaterials research, 52 papers were found as highly cited papers averaging 535.64 citations per paper in 10 years. Purpose The purpose of this paper is to quantitatively and qualitatively analyze library marketing research output using select bibliometric indicators with the aim of identifying top-performing countries, subject subthemes, organizations, authors and journals in the area. Design/methodology/approach The present study has examined 520 publications in library marketing, as indexed in Scopus database during 2006–2017. The study has statistically assessed processed publications and citations data into tables in order to ascertain research growth rate trends, global publication output and share, citation impact and distribution of library marketing research by country of publication, international-level collaborating country share of publication, by broad subject areas and preferred media of research communication. The study also provides bibliometric profile of top research organizations and authors in terms of their publications and citation indicators. Findings The body of literature in library marketing research is still very small, highly scattered and has so far registered no growth during the last 12 years, i.e. 2006–2017. Library marketing research is yet to emerge as a popular research area in library and information science. The USA dominates The library marketing research in the world, whereas other top participating countries including India, China, Japan, Canada, etc., are distant cousins. Top research institutions in the area of library marketing across the world include City University of New York, Florida State University, University of Texas at Austin, USA, Loughborough University and University of Sheffield, UK. The major focus of library marketing research was on academic libraries, followed by public libraries and medical libraries. Of late, the use of social media has emerged as an alternative to traditional library marketing techniques. Research limitations/implications The scope of study describing the status of library marketing research is limited to the period 2006–2017. The results of the study should interest researchers in finding solutions to formulating future library strategies and programs for achieving sustainable growth in this area of study. Originality/value The present study in library marketing research should be of interest to researchers in evolving, and formulating theories/best practices/and policies/programs for outreach to current and potential users for promoting library products and services.

The top 10 countries of the world in artificial </span><span>intelligence research accounted for 74.32 per cent global publication share. Individually their global share varied from 3.68 per cent to 19.46 per cent, with China accounting for 19.46 per cent global share, followed by the USA (17.96 </span><span>%), India (6.37 %), and the U.K. (6.33 %), etc. The paper also examines publications output by India in artificial </span><span>intelligence research. India cumulated a total of 9730 publications in 10 years during 2007-16, registered an annual </span><span>average growth rate of 27.45 per cent, averaged citation impact to 2.76 citations per paper, and contributed 10.34 </span><span>per cent share of its total country output as international collaborative publications during 2007-16. Computer science </span><span>accounted for the largest publication share (86.99 %), followed by engineering (30.69 %), mathematics (15.95 %), </span><span>biochemistry, genetics &amp; molecular biology (4.66 %), and several other disciplines. The top 10 organizations and 10 authors together accounted for 19.31 per cent and 2.71 per cent national publications share respectively and 29.78 </span><span>per cent share and 6.85 per cent national citation share respectively during 2007-16. Top 10 journals accounted for 15.45 per cent share of the country output appearing in journal medium (1650 papers). India accounted for 24 </span><span>highly cited papers, averaging to 162.46 citations per paper. Since food is considered important in the world, the current study analyzed the characteristics of scientific publications based on several subtle indicators of scientometrics in the field of food economics for strengthening public health in the future. Accordingly, a total of 26306 publications from 1915 to 2021 are evaluated based on the Scopus database with the help of scientific tools such as Hitcite, Biblioshiny and VoS viewer. The results show that the resourcefulness experts are identified in terms of their publication only, that namely Drewnowski, Kesselheim. On the other hand, the author Popkini is considered as the key author rather than the above-said authors in terms of global citations. The similarity in the above context is that all the topmost authors belong to the USA. More importantly, the summary of citations in total publication output is revealed that a single paper is recorded the range of citations between 1042-2766, the 500 citations are recorded from the 64 papers, and 844 papers accounted with more than 100 citations.

The study analyses research output of Anna University (Tamil Nadu) using Scopus database during the period 1988 to 2017 (30 years). Further predominance was given for Type of Source, Chronological growth, Subject wise contribution, Document type preferred, Collaborated Country, Collaborated Institutions, Contributed Journal, Highly contributed author, Keywords Preferred and Language of the paper.A total of 23,883 records have been identified and the same has been analyzed using bibliometric study. There has been steady growth of publications and 50% of articles appeared during the last five years between 2013 and 2017. The publications were doubled once in seven years. The average publication per year works out to 795 papers and nearly 78% of contributions were from Engineering; Computer Science; Materials Science, Physics and Astronomy. Around 17 Countries collaborated and contributed to more than 101 papers. The top three journals which have more publications were, “International Journal of Applied Engineering Research”; “European Journal of Scientific Research” and “Journal of Crystal Growth”.

Advances in technological possibilities have made communication present in different media and spaces. By enabling interaction between different countries, by becoming a facilitator between knowledge and innovation in the globalized world, it has opened frontiers by providing innovations in various sectors of the knowledge society. In this sense, the objective in this article is to map the intersection of communication, innovation and knowledge in the globalized world. To that end, the methodology used in the research was the systematic search of literature that pointed out that the intersection is motivated by the use of innovative technologies in the process of knowledge sharing, and studies are still scarce in this area. The paper examines 13021 Indian publications on mobile research during 2007-16,as covered in Scopus database. The Indian publications were downloaded using a search strategy which uses the search term ‘mobile*’ in the two tags, namely ‘keyword tag’ and ‘Article Title tag’ and restricting it to the India in ‘country tag’ and period 2007-16 in ‘date range tag’. The Indian mobile research output experiencing an annual average growth rate of 22.64 per cent, global share of 5.88 per cent, citation impact of 2.11 and international collaborative publication share of 11.28 per cent during 2007-16. Computer Science, among subjects, contributed the largest publication share (74.61), engineering (38.32%), mathematics and social sciences (6.94% and 6.54), etc. during 2007-16. Amongst14 subfields identified in India’s mobile research, mobile networks contributed the largest publication share (53.19%), followed by mobile telecommunication systems (35.09%), Mobile communication (29.22%), mobile ad hoc networks (26.86%), mobile security (20.62%), etc. The most productive 20 Indian organisations and authors together contributed 25.64 per cent and 5.11 per cent share to the overall publications output of India in mobile research during 2007-16.The top 20 journals contributed 23.0 per cent share to the Indian journal output during 2007-16. Only 14 publications have registered citations from 109 to 548 and these together received3259 citations, with 232.79 citations per paper. Conclude that India is still not a leading country in the world on mobile research both in terms of quantity and quality of research. In view of strategic and global importance and to increase the research output and quality, the Indian Government needs to identify this area as one of the national priority area, involving much larger R&amp;D investments and trained manpower and also increase international collaboration with leading mobile research hubs.
