The paper proposes an approach to diagnostics of asynchronous electric motors based on the application of hierarchical functional models that are built using the IDEF0 methodology for integrated consideration of the influence of electric power quality indicators. A brief analysis of the problems of diagnostics for asynchronous electric motors is given, which justifies the relevance of developing new methods and models of diagnostics. A distinctive feature of the proposed hierarchical functional diagnostic models of asynchronous electric motors is a formalized representation of the necessary process functions using the IDEF0 methodology. This allows one to identify the main data flows in the diagnosis process, extract knowledge about the process, and reveal the cause-and-effect relationships of failures of asynchronous electric motors, complementing traditional methods of technical diagnostics by analyzing compliance with regulatory requirements concerning the electrical energy quality. A brief description of the developed methods, models and algorithms, as well as the results of experimental research, efficiency analysis of the proposed methodology is provided.

One of the areas of scientific and technological progress at the facilities of the marine industry is the widespread use of technologies based on nonlinear elements, which can significantly reduce their weight-size parameters and dimensions and expand their functional capabilities. However, the use of such technologies leads to a deterioration in the quality of electrical energy, primarily due to higher harmonic components of voltage and current. The article shows the nature of higher harmonics, analyzes the sections of the «Rules for the Classification and Construction of Sea-Going Vessels. 2021», Russian and a number of foreign standards in the field of electric power quality, regulating the level of higher harmonic components of voltage and current in electrical networks and systems. The paper presents the results of theoretical and experimental studies of the influence of higher harmonic components on the functioning of shipboard electrical equipment: asynchronous electric motors, power cables, transformers, capacitor banks and lighting systems. Formulas have been determined to assess this effect. It is shown that the influence is mainly manifested: in additional heating of electrical equipment due to the skin effect; vibrations of asynchronous electric motors at high values of 5th and 7th voltage harmonics of the ship's electrical network.

Effective use of fuel and energy resources is one of the main tasks in modern industry and transport. The main directions of increasing the energy efficiency of the electric rolling stock of railways are considered in the paper. For the electric rolling stock of railways, a significant proportion of electric power consumption falls on traction needs. The consumption of electrical energy and its recovery directly depends on the proper operation and fine-tuning of the magnetic system and switching of traction electric motors of the rolling stock. The methods of testing traction electric motors currently used in railway transport do not fully correspond to their operating modes during operation. For more reliable control of their condition, a methodology for estimating the nature of the operation of traction electric motors in conditions close to real ones was proposed. Studies of the influence of transient processes on the quality of switching of traction electric motors taking into account operating conditions are carried out. Based on the results of the study, the analysis of the data obtained is carried out, and a criterion for estimating the switching stability of traction electric motors in transient operation modes is proposed. The proposed criterion allows carrying out quality control of the tuning of the magnetic system and switching of the traction electric motor, and also estimating the nature of its operation in various modes, taking into account the operating conditions.

This article discusses the issues of autonomous operation of electrical agricultural equipment based on the transmission of electricity over a distance. The main point of this article is that tractors that work in the field are driven by electric motors, with the need to use expensive batteries. The issues of the impact and safety of this technology on the environment and humans are considered. The main problem of the creation, maintenance and operation of transport equipment, including agricultural equipment, is the high cost of maintenance and fuel, which are constantly increasing. In addition, the environmental problem, which has become so acute in recent years, global warming, the fuel crisis and the need to transfer all transport equipment to electric traction, make us look for new ways to solve the problem of environmental pollution and save resources, especially non-renewable energy sources. The use of electrical energy for traction of agricultural machinery that work in the fields or in other industries has been used for a long time, and in the early stages of the development of transport, it was electric transport that occupied the main part, before the invention of the internal combustion engine. Including at the Kharkov Tractor Plant there were developments (and still are), a prototype of the use of electric motors as the main unit for movement. Based on the above, it is obvious that electric traction for transport is obviously environmentally friendly and safe, although there are a number of limitations in this matter as well, but the unresolved problems of the limited use of the storage battery force us to look for new sources of energy. This article proposes to consider the possibility of using electric traction for agricultural machinery with the supply of operating tractors in the fields with the help of a directed electromagnetic wave with its transformation into electrical energy, which will be supplied to the electric motor.

(1) Background: The visual impact of artificial infrastructures on natural landscapes generates a common negative perception in public opinion. However, as in the case of electrical energy, the increasing demand for power supply and its need for capillary distribution require the installation of new lines, commonly overhead lines with tall tower-like pylons. In most countries, this situation is faced with many attempts of solutions, as participatory workshops and design contests. Nevertheless, the solutions are usually not further developed into real structures due to many limitations (e.g., regulatory, safety, lack of feasibility). (2) Methods: This paper presents a systematic method for the design of tower-like pylons (e.g., electric ones) able to improve the visual quality on the landscape areas in which they will be installed. The method identifies a design strategy that advantageously exploits the inevitable visual impact of pylons on the landscape by integrating the symbolic morphology and the topologically optimized pylon structure from the earliest design phases. (3) Results: The resulting structure is designed in three steps. First, a concept is morphologically developed by integrating symbolic references to the landscape, environment, or cultural society. Second, the concept is topologically optimized, by reducing the structural weight and its visual impact, and respecting regulatory requirements. Third, the resulting structure is engineered and embodied into an industrially feasible layout. (4) Conclusions: The method is able to develop an original, brand new tower-like pylon integrating all the types of requirements, such as regulatory, industrial feasibility, and social components’ needs. The resulting electricity pylon presents an enhanced visual quality according to the citizens’ feedback.
