Background: One in four school-aged children is bullied. However, the risk may be greater for childhood cancer patients/survivors (diagnosed <18 years), because of symptoms of the disease and treatment that may prejudice peers. While the serious consequences of bullying are well documented in the general population, bullying may have even greater impact in children with cancer due to the myriad of challenges associated with treatment and prolonged school absence. Objective: To summarize the state of evidence on bullying in childhood cancer patients/survivors; specifically, the rate and types of bullying experienced and the associated factors. Method: We searched five electronic databases from inception to February 2018 for original research articles reporting on bullying in childhood cancer patients/survivors. Results: We identified 29 eligible articles, representing 1,078 patients/survivors ( M = 14.35 years). Self-reports from patients/survivors revealed a considerably higher rate of bullying (32.2%) compared with the general population (25%). Our review identified little information on the factors associated with bullying in patients/survivors. However, the bullying described tended to be verbal and was often related to the physical side effects of treatment, indicating that differences in appearance may prejudice peers. It was further suggested that educating the child’s classmates about cancer may prevent bullying. Conclusions: Our findings confirm that bullying is a significant challenge for many childhood cancer patients/survivors. Additional studies are needed to identify factors that may influence the risk of bullying, which will inform the development of evidence-based interventions and guidelines to prevent bullying in childhood cancer patients/survivors.

This chapter discusses the residual, but strongly legitimised, role for the state in preventing damage to children, which carries high levels of criticism for those parents seen as failing to optimise their child's developmental potential. The idea that childhood experiences are important and can be formative clearly has a common-sense truth to it and obviously, traumatic experiences in childhood will have lasting impacts. However, a vocabulary has emerged in which notions of toxic parenting and the quest for optimum developmental flourishing create new mandates for the state to act. The chapter then argues that these are necessary to explain the sharp rises in national rates of child removal, particularly the permanent removal of very small children, documented over the last decade. They also contribute to service fragmentation by privileging intervention in the early years in the form of ‘evidence-based’ parenting programmes.

Much of education research in recent years has focused on how the bullying and victimization of LGBTQ+ students and youth with disabilities (YWD) can lead to increased challenges and limited opportunities later in life. However, few studies have focused on how bullying and victimization affects students who both have disabilities and identify as LGBTQ+ or on how specific practices could improve both their experiences in school and their success later in life. YWD face the same challenges when it comes to puberty, social identity, and planning for adult roles as their non-disabled peers, but they are more likely to struggle with developing their identity and thinking about their future, particularly if they identify as LGBTQ+, which is why educators and parents must work together to advocate for changes that promote an inclusive, safe, and just environment for all students. In this article, we offer guidance using evidence-based promising practices (EBPPs) to improve educational settings for LGBTQ+ YWD that is informed by our work at the state, local, and classroom levels. Gran parte de las investigaciones en educación en los últimos años se han enfocado en como el acoso y la victimización de los estudiantes LGBTQ+ y estudiantes con discapacidades pueden llevarlos a un aumento de desafíos y menos oportunidades más tarde en sus vidas. Sin embargo, pocas investigaciones se han enfocado en como el acoso y la victimización afecta a los estudiantes con discapacidades o identificados como LGBTQ+ o en como prácticas específicas pueden mejorar sus experiencias escolares y a la vez su éxito en el futuro. Los estudiantes con discapacidades enfrentan los mismo retos que sus compañeros sin discapacidades cuando se trata de la pubertad, identidad social, y en planear para su rol como adultos, pero tienen más dificultad en luchar con el desarrollo de su identidad y en pensar en su futuro, especialmente si se identifican como LGBTQ+, por lo tanto es importante que los docentes y padres de familia trabajen juntos para abogar para cambios que promuevan un ambiente inclusivo, seguro, y justo para todos los estudiantes. En este artículo, ofrecemos consejos utilizando prácticas prometedoras basadas en evidencias para mejorar el ambiente educativo para estudiantes LGBTQ+ con discapacidades que están informadas en nuestro trabajo al nivel estatal, local y de aula.

Implementation strategies are methods or techniques that can be used to enhance the adoption, implementation, scale-up, and sustainment of evidence-based cancer control practices into routine care. This chapter defines implementation strategies, presents several taxonomies of implementation strategies that can be used to address multilevel implementation barriers, describes guidelines for reporting and specifying implementation strategies to ensure the efficient generation of knowledge and the replication of effective strategies in research and practice, briefly overviews the state of evidence for strategies, and suggests ways in which they can be carefully developed and applied to address the needs of specific contexts. The chapter concludes by presenting several research priorities related to implementation strategies.

This article analyzes some important trends and issues in the development of legal regulation of relations between the state and business. The article noted the main negative trends and challenges in the development of legislation at the present stage: the increasing instability of legal regulation; lack of priorities and evidence-based forecast, the consistency of decisions etc. These trends are accompanied by comments and examples from recent changes in the civil law. It is noted that the General result of all these negative trends is the increasing uncertainty of legal regulation, reducing its effectiveness. It is noted that the shortcomings of our legal system in part of state relations and business at the present stage amplified two significant external challenges: the creation of a Eurasian economic Union (EEU) and participation in the WTO; the adoption of a number of States sanctions against Russia in connection with the known events in Ukraine.
