The practice of linking the enterprises with their channel members through supply chain activities is meant to achieve better performance and to create a win-win situation for both sides. A study on supply chain linkages is necessary in order to observe the effect of the linkages on firms’ performance. Therefore, this study is conducted to examine the factors of supply chain linkages that affect the business performance among micro and small enterprises. Three factors were proposed, which are information sharing, development programme and outsourcing. A total of 214 sets of questionnaires was completed by owners and firm’s personnel from 13 industrial sectors. The findings from this study revealed that information sharing and development programme have a significant and positive relationship with firms’ performance. Even though outsourcing shows a positive relationship with firms’ performance, but the relationship was not statistically significant. The results provide a better understanding of information sharing, development programme and outsourcing from micro and small enterprise perspective in Sarawak.Keywords: Supply Chain; Information Sharing; Development Programme; Outsourcing; Performance; Micro and Small Enterprise.


Computerized Accounting Systems (CAS) has been used as a tool to help the accountants and the business owner to record daily business transactions and produce accounting reports in no time. The adoption of CAS among the users, however, varies especially in term of the factors that influence the usage and the level of the adoption. This paper aims, among other factors, to investigate the relationship between the model of technology acceptance (TAM) and the use of CAS. The main purpose is to examine the connection between the two variables of TAM, perceived ease of use and perceived usefulness, and use of CAS among accountants in micro and small enterprises (MSEs). The scope of this study is businesses in Xi’an, Shaan Xi of China. An online survey has been used to obtain feedback from 400 respondents. However, only 201 responseshave been returned and available for further analysis. This study discovers a beneficial connection between perceived ease of use, perceived usefulness and CAS use. This study could guide the accountants and business owners as well as the research communities to understand the correlation of technology acceptance and the use of CAS.

ABSTRACT Objective: the article aims to identify the relevant resources for the composition of managerial and transactional capabilities in the context of micro and small enterprises (MSEs). Method: through a literature review, the resources associated with the innovation were identified: leadership, people management, information and knowledge, relationships with clients, suppliers, and society, and results. The resources were collected and measured using a structured questionnaire made available by the Local Agent for Innovation program, applied to 447 MSEs in the state of Pernambuco, between 2015 and 2017. Confirmatory factor analysis was used to verify how these resources contribute to the composition of capabilities. Results: the results demonstrate that the managerial capability is composed of the relationship with society and suppliers, leadership, the sharing of information and knowledge, and people management. Transactional capability is made up of the relationship with customers and the results obtained by the firm. Conclusions: although MSEs have restrictions on access to technologies, their organizational resources seem to contribute to the development of innovation capability and to obtain competitive advantage.

El artículo muestra los resultados de la investigación realizada en las MyPE’s de los municipios deSan Pablo Huixtepec y Zimatlán de Álvarez Oaxaca y la propuesta de capacitación para apoyar en el combate a la corrupción de estas comunidades. El objetivo es analizar la relación que existe en tres ejes: a) capacitación; b) corrupción y c) desarrollo económico de las mismas. El método utilizado en la investigación es de tipo cuantitativo correlacional. Se analizaron 5ítems relacionados con la percepción que tienen los empresarios sobre la corrupción que afecta a su empresa y 19 ítems relacionados con la experiencia del empresario con la corrupción y las instituciones gubernamentales, esta información fue tomada de 540 cuestionarios aplicados en los municipios antes mencionados. Se identificóque si existeuna relación entre las variables analizadas y una tendencia que a mayor capacitación menor grado de corrupción y mayor desarrollo económico en las MyPE ́s. AbstractThe article shows the results of the research carried out in the MyPE's of the municipalities of San Pablo Huixtepec and Zimatlán de Alvarez Oaxaca and the proposal of training to support in the fight against corruption of these communities. The objective is to analyze the relationship that exists in three axes: (a) training; (b) corruption and (c) economic development. The method used in research is correlational quantitative type. We analyzed 5 items related to the perception of entrepreneurs about the corruption affecting their company and 19 items related to the experience of the entrepreneur with corruption and government institutions, this information was taken from 540 questionnaires applied in the aforementioned municipalities. It was identified that if there is a relationship between the variables analyzed and a trend that thereis a greater degree of corruption and greater economic development in micro and small enterprises.

Purpose This paper aims to identify and measure the impact of the types of innovation on micro and small enterprises’ performance in the foodservice industry. Design/methodology/approach A sample of 55 micro and small enterprises located in the Recife Metropolitan Area in Pernambuco were considered for the purpose of the analysis. All the firms were registered in the Agente Local de Inovação (ALI) program during the period of 2015 and 2016. The innovations developed by the firms were identified and measured using the sectorial innovation index, and the firm’s performance was calculated by the annual revenue. The impact of the innovations on performance was measured using multiple linear regression and quantile regression. Findings The regressions’ findings suggest that two innovation dimensions stand out concerning firm performance, that is, brand and customer experience are thought as to contribute to firm performance significantly. However, it has also been found that the contribution of the innovations may vary in the level of firm performance. Originality/value The paper was distinguished by analyzing the relationship between innovation and firm performance in the context of micro and small enterprises. The research also allowed knowing the innovations that can contribute to the micro and small enterprises’ performance, allowing such organizations to identify and develop the innovations seen as necessary for their competitiveness.

Purpose: The purpose of this study was to establish the effect of credit and owner/manager educational qualification on performance of micro and small enterprises in Kenya and their joint effect using the 2016 MSMEs survey data.Methodology: This is cross-sectional data collected from a population of 50,043 enterprises. A sample of 384 enterprises was used in the analysis as obtained using Fisher’s (2003) formula for computing sample size from a large population. Inferential statistics was used to interrogate the relationship between the variables.Results: Regression results indicated that both access to credit services and educational qualification had a positive and significant effect on performance of the sampled enterprises. Further analysis indicated that the joint effect of the two variables was greater than their individual effect.Unique contribution to theory, practice and policy: Recommendations of this study are that the central Bank of Kenya should focus more on lending and credit facilitation programs in order to encourage greater bank-led financing to the sector to help bridge the unmet demand for credit and that micro and small enterprises should be encouraged to establish good credit history with various lending institutions to enable them access credit facilities from financial institutions. In addition, owners/managers of the enterprises should be provided with training on managerial and technical skills to complement their educational qualifications in running the enterprises.

El artículo muestra los resultados de la investigación realizada a los directivos de las micro y pequeñas empresas (mypes) del municipio de Oaxaca de Juárez. El objetivo es analizar la relación del grado de estudios deldirector con la gestión del recurso humano (RH). El método utilizado en la es de tipo cuantitativo con alcance correlacional. Se analizaron 5 items relacionados con el perfil demográfico del director y 9 ítems relacionados con la gestión detalento humano, todos con una escala de respuesta tipo Likert de 5 puntos. Se identificó que no existe una relación en las variables analizadas, pero existe una tendencia que a mayor grado de estudios menor impacto en la gestión de R.H. AbstractThe article shows the results of the research carried out by the directors of the Micro and small Enterprises (mypes) of the municipality of Oaxaca de Juárez. The objective is to analyse the relationship of the Director's degree of studies with the management of the Human Resource (RH). The method used in the quantitative type is with correlational scope. We analyzed 5 items related to the demographic profile of the Director and 9 items related to the management of human talent, all with a Likert type response scale of 5 points. It Was identified that there is no relationship in the variables analyzed, but there is a trend that a higher degree of studies less impact on the management of R.H.
