Abstract The knowledge based organization is the organization in which production and consumption of knowledge is the most important type of activity, knowledge is recognized as a key resource, information and communication technologies are core technologies and information environment, together with the social and the ecological ones, constitute the human existence. The information society allows broad access to information for its members, becoming a new way of working and knowledge. The new digital technologies essential reduce the cost of access, storage and transmission of information. IT systems play an important role in processes that speed up the exchange of information within the organization and between organizations and in effective dissemination of information to the consumer or, if we are talking in the context of education, student. In this context, where there is an ongoing need for education and training, the Web has become a new medium for publishing the information. So, websites are used to promote businesses and products, provide services and information, and facilitate communication. For medium and large sites, the question of their content management occurs. Therefore content management systems have been implemented (CMS). The system inputs are information to be published, and the outputs are the pages that will be seen by visitors. Content management is the systematic and structured supply, creation, processing, management, presentation, publishing and content reuse. There is a wide range of CMS, but no solution is able to manage all types of content. Referring this in the field of education and learning, the article aims to analyze the types of CMS systems consistent with known theories and models of learning: behaviorism, cognitivism, constructivism & connectivism.

The content management system is essentially used to provide and organize a joint process of creating, editing and managing content. With the help of these systems, information and educational portals are developed, which are the basis of knowledge management. At the same time, content management systems provide convenient management of data stored in the database and provides dynamic display of site pages. Designed for students studying in all areas of training bachelors, as well as undergraduates, graduate students and teachers to update the skills in the use of information and communication technologies for effective work with web-content.

The rise of the knowledge-based economy has significantly transformed the economies of developed countries from managed economies into entrepreneurial economies, which deal with knowledge as both input and output. Consequently, knowledge has become a key asset for organizations and knowledge management is one of the driving forces of business success. One of the most important challenges faced by enterprises today is to manage both knowledge assets and the e-collaboration process between knowledge workers. Critical business knowledge and information is often contained in mostly unstructured documents in content management systems. Therefore, content management based on knowledge perspectives is crucial for organizations, especially knowledge-intensive organizations. Enterprise Content Management has evolved as an integrated approach to managing documents and content on an enterprise-wide scale. This approach must be enhanced in order to build a robust foundation to support knowledge development and the collaboration process. This paper presents the KBCM (Knowledge-Based Content Management) framework for constructing a knowledge infrastructure based on the perspective of knowledge components that could help enterprises create more business value by classifying content formally and enabling its transformation into valuable knowledge assets.

Abstract The recent advancements in information and communication technologies have altered instructional contexts and re-shaped them into smart learning environments. One of the most common practices of these environments are learning management systems (LMS) where the learners and instructors utilize a software platform to fulfill, support and manage instructional activities around predefined objectives. Successful implementations of LMS have brought a variety on its usage from different cultures, genders, age groups or schooling levels. Hence, this study focuses on understanding the role of culture on LMS design, in along with the effects of gender, age and school year variables. The study participants were German (n = 83) and Spanish (n = 83) university students attending a fully online course offered by a South Korean university. At the end of the course, the students were asked to fulfill a survey on effective LMS design by pointing which features of LMS were more important for them. The survey included twenty questions on four major design factors; content management (six items), ease of use (five items), communication within LMS (four item) and screen design (five items). The dataset was analyzed by non-parametric statistical techniques around four variables on four dimensions (and their related survey questions). The most important result was insufficiency of one unique LMS design for all students which demonstrates the necessity of student demographics tailored smart systems. Additionally, age and gender variables were not making significant differences on LMS design as much as culture and school year variables. The study also revealed that while German students would appreciate goal-oriented individual learning, Spanish students would value process-oriented group learning with active communication. Furthermore, many features of LMS were highly valued by the freshman students more than other levels. The paper discusses these variables with possible explanations from the literature and depicts implementations for future design practices.

While digitalization of cultural organizations is in full swing and growth, it is common knowledge that websites can be used as a beacon to expand the awareness and consideration of their services on the Web. Nevertheless, recent research results indicate the managerial difficulties in deploying strategies for expanding the discoverability, visibility, and accessibility of these websites. In this paper, a three-stage data-driven Search Engine Optimization schema is proposed to assess the performance of Libraries, Archives, and Museums websites (LAMs), thus helping administrators expand their discoverability, visibility, and accessibility within the Web realm. To do so, the authors examine the performance of 341 related websites from all over the world based on three different factors, Content Curation, Speed, and Security. In the first stage, a statistically reliable and consistent assessment schema for evaluating the SEO performance of LAMs websites through the integration of more than 30 variables is presented. Subsequently, the second stage involves a descriptive data summarization for initial performance estimations of the examined websites in each factor is taking place. In the third stage, predictive regression models are developed to understand and compare the SEO performance of three different Content Management Systems, namely the Drupal, WordPress, and custom approaches, that LAMs websites have adopted. The results of this study constitute a solid stepping-stone both for practitioners and researchers to adopt and improve such methods that focus on end-users and boost organizational structures and culture that relied on data-driven approaches for expanding the visibility of LAMs services.
