AbstractThe classical probability that a randomly chosen number from the set {n ∈ N : n ≤ n0} belongs to a set A ⊆ N can be approximated for large number n0 by the asymptotic density of the set A. We say that the events are independent if the probability of their intersection is equal to the product of their probabilities. By analogy we define the independence of sets. We say that the sets are independent if the asymptotic density of their intersection is equal to the product of their asymptotic densities. In the article is described a generalisation of one of the criteria of independence of sets and one interesting case in which sets are not independent

We solve a problem posed recently by Gravner and Griffeath [4]: to find a finite seed A0 of 1s for a simple {0, l}-valued cellular automaton growth model on Z2 such that the occupied crystal An after n updates spreads with a two-dimensional asymptotic shape and a provably irrational density. Our solution exhibits an initial A0 of 2,392 cells for Conway’s Game Of Life from which An cover nT with asymptotic density (3 - √5/90, where T is the triangle with vertices (0,0), (-1/4,-1/4), and (1/6,0). In “Cellular Automaton Growth on Z2: Theorems, Examples, and Problems” [4], Gravner and Griffeath recently presented a mathematical framework for the study of Cellular Automata (CA) crystal growth and asymptotic shape, focusing on two-dimensional dynamics. For simplicity, at any discrete time n, each lattice site is assumed to be either empty (0) or occupied (1). Occupied sites after n updates grows linearly in each dimension, attaining an asymptotic density p within a limit shape L: . . . n-1 A → p • 1L • (1) . . . This phenomenology is developed rigorously in Gravner and Griffeath [4] for Threshold Growth, a class of monotone solidification automata (in which case p = 1), and for various nonmonotone CA which evolve recursively. The coarse-grain crystal geometry of models which do not fill the lattice completely is captured by their asymptotic density, as precisely formulated in Gravner and Griffeath [4]. It may happen that a varying “hydrodynamic” profile p(x) emerges over the normalized support L of the crystal. The most common scenario, however, would appear to be eq. (1), with some constant density p throughout L. All the asymptotic densities identified by Gravner and Griffeath are rational, corresponding to growth which is either exactly periodic in space and time, or nearly so. For instance, it is shown that Exactly 1 Solidification, in which an empty cell permanently joins the crystal if exactly one of its eight nearest (Moore) neighbors is occupied, fills the plane with density 4/9 starting from a singleton.

AbstractJoubert syndrome (JS) is a rare congenital, autosomal recessive disorder characterized by a distinctive brain malformation, developmental delay, ocular motor apraxia, breathing abnormalities, and high clinical and genetic heterogeneity. We are reporting three siblings with JS from consanguineous parents in Syria. Two of them had the same homozygous c.2172delA (p.Trp725Glyfs*) AHI1 mutation and the third was diagnosed prenatally with magnetic resonance imaging. This pathogenic variant is very rare and described in only a few cases in the literature. Multinational collaboration could be of benefit for the patients from undeveloped, low-income countries that have a low-quality health care system, especially for the diagnosis of rare diseases.

Akin to the previous, 2014 event, with no data on voter ethnicity, no exit polls, and few post-election analyses, the 2018 Fiji election results remain something of a mystery despite the fact that there had been a significant swing in voting in favour of Opposition political parties. There have been several studies about the election results, but most of them have been done without much quantitative analyses. This study examines voting patterns of Fiji’s 2018 election by provinces, and rural-urban localities, as well as by candidates, and also compares the 2018 and 2014 elections by spending a substantial time classifying officially released data by polling stations and individual candidates. Some of the data are then further aggregated according to the political parties to which those candidates belonged. The current electoral system in Fiji is a version of a proportional system, but its use is rare and this study will provide an interesting case study of the Open List Proportional System. At the end of the analyses, this study considers possible reasons for the swing in favour of the Opposition.

AbstractThe paper analyzes the transformation of identity politics of Kharkiv local authorities after the Euromaidan, or Revolution of Dignity, the annexation of Crimea, and the War in Donbass. Being the second largest city in Ukraine and becoming the frontline city in 2014, Kharkiv is an interesting case for research on how former pro-Russian local elites treat new policies of the central government in Kyiv, on whether earlier they tried to mobilize their electorate or to provoke political opponents with using soviet symbols, soviet memory, and copying Russian initiatives in the sphere of identity.To answer the research question of this article, an analysis of Kharkiv city and oblast programs and strategies and of communal media were made. Decommunisation, as one of the most important identity projects of Ukrainian central authorities after 2014, was analyzed through publications in Kharkiv’s city-owned media as well as reports from other scholars. Some conclusions are made from the analysis of these documents: Kharkiv development strategy until 2020, Complex program of cultural development in Kharkiv in 2011–2016 (and the same for 2017–2021), The regional program of military and patriotic training and participation of people in measures of defense work in 2015–2017, Program of supporting civil society in 2016–2020 in Kharkiv region and the city mayor’s orders about the celebration of Victory Day (9 May), the Day of the National Flag (23 August), the Day of the City (23 August) and Independence Day (24 August) in 2010–2015.

Although claims questioning whether religious sacred books can be “translated” or not have been heard for quite some time, they have increased with the emergence of globalization and the increasing openness and flow of information due to modern technology. In the context of the relationship between hermeneutics and communication, one could argue that interpreting the Qur’an is an interesting case study for many reasons. Among them is the number of debates and discourses that have been raised both for and against its translation. Another reason, perhaps one of the largest barriers according to some religious Muslim groups, is that the Qur’an is fundamentally revealed and written in Arabic, and, therefore, its true meaning cannot be translated into another language. Certain verses, such as “It is a Qur’an in Arabic, without any crookedness (therein): in order that they may guard against evil” (28:39), have been presented to support this argument.

Medical science says that ischemia is a common complication in Diabetes, especially in the lower limb but this is a case presenting ischemic changes in upper limb which is unique and also in such type of acute ischemia amputation is the only choice of treatment to save the life of patient from septicaemia. Such a rare and interesting case was taken at Sri Sri Ayurveda Hospital and handled by proper Ayurvedic line of treatment by which circulation is re-established which saved both limb and life of patient. A patient by name Sundaramma, 62yr Female, visited Sri Sri Ayurveda Hospital on 29/2/2016 with a diagnosis of Right upper limb Ischemia with Diabetes Mellitus and Active TB. The main symptoms were severe pain and burning sensation in Right hand and forearm, discolouration of fingers with ulcers, Bluish black discolouration over right thumb, necrosis, pus dischargeand stiffness, associated with difficulty in movement of right arm, shoulder joint, elbow joint, palm and fingers. Diagnosed as Right Upper Limb Ischemia with Diabetes Mellitus and active TB. Therapeutic interventions like Right upper limb Doppler and CT angiogram were done. Such a complicated case was taken at Sri Sri Ayurveda Hospital, and carefully handled by Ayurvedic methods of management, which was ended up by preventing amputation of the limb and also achieving the re-establishment of arterial circulation.
