AbstractIn this paper, we study the second harmonic generation and its interaction with the fundamental mode in a magnetised dense positron-ion plasma interacting with laser pulses. It has been shown that different harmonics propagate with different phase velocities. The gradual evolution of the fundamental wave into higher harmonics is studied, and the conversion efficiency is calculated. Dependence of conversion efficiency on wavenumber shifts and the applied magnetic field has also been examined.

Abstract In this paper we have studied the gradual evolution of stationary formations in electron acoustic waves at a finite temperature quantum plasma. We have made use of Quantum hydrodynamics model equations and obtained the KdV-Burgers equation. From here we showed how the amplitude modulated solitons evolve from double layer structures through shock fronts and ultimately converging into solitary structures. We have studied the various parametric influences on such stationary structure and also showed how the gradual variations of these parameter affect the transition from one form to another. The results thus obtained will help in the generation and structure of the structures in their respective domain. Much of the experiments on dense plasma will benefit from the parametric study. Further we have studied amplitude modulation followed by a detailed study on chaos.

AbstractStudy of even harmonic generation resulting from propagation of whistler pulse in homogeneous high-density quantum plasma immersed in an externally applied magnetic field, using the recently developed quantum hydrodynamic model is presented. The effects of quantum Bohm potential, quantum statistical pressure, and electron spin have been taken into account. The field amplitude of even harmonic of the whistler with respect to fundamental wave and the conversion efficiency for phase-mismatch has been analyzed. The conversion efficiency of harmonic radiation depends on the plasma electron density, magnetic field strength as well as the intensity of whistler pulse. The efficiency increases significantly with an increase in plasma density, magnetic field and whistler wave intensity. Higher conversion efficiency is observed in degenerate plasma for lower values of the static magnetic field as compared with classical plasma.

AbstractTwo-dimensional (2D) organic-inorganic hybrid perovskites feature characteristics of inherent quantum-well structures and intriguing optoelectronic properties, and have therefore attracted enormous research attention for their optical applications in light emitting, sensing, modulation, and telecommunication devices. The low-cost and solution-processed fabrications as well as alternative organic spacer cations endue 2D hybrid perovskites with higher tunability in optical and photonic applications. In particular, they demonstrate distinguished nonlinear optical characters such as second-harmonic generation (SHG), two-photon absorption (2PA), and saturable absorption (SA) under the excitation of laser pulses. Here, we discuss the construction of the various sorts of 2D hybrid perovskites with different structural features. We have also highlighted some representative properties and applications of these 2D hybrid perovskites in both linear and nonlinear optical regimes.

The nonlinear wave structures of large amplitude ion-acoustic waves are studied in a plasma with positrons. We have presented the region of existence of the ion-acoustic waves by analysing the structure of the pseudopotential. The region of existence sensitively depends on the positron to electron density ratio, the ion to electron mass ratio and the positron to electron temperature ratio. It is shown that the maximum Mach number increases as the positron temperature increases and the region of existence of the ion-acoustic waves spreads as the positron temperature increases. The present theory is applicable to analyse large amplitude ion-acoustic waves associated with positrons which may occur in space plasmas.
