ABSTRACT Cloud Computing is a combination of the use of computer technology and cloud of Internet-based development. Clouds are metaphors of the Internet, as are clouds that are often depicted in computer network diagrams. In addition to clouds in computer network diagrams, clouds in computing technology are also an abstraction of the complex infrastructure it conceals. Private Cloud Storage with Service Oriented Architecture component collaboration is able to provide an efficient interface for the running process of the institution and serves as Virtualization Server and Online Storage that can be accessed using Fixed Devices and Mobile Devices such as Android Smartphone, Pad Computer and Tablet PC via local network connection and Internet. As function of the benefits of the cloud itself can be utilized into the needs of E-Learning, given the ease, needs, and security, cloud computing spelled out the right method in applying these needs. Where every data is entitled to save freely, broadly and safely of course. How to Cite : Santiko, I. Rosidi, R., Wibawa. S. A (2017). Purpose – Current e-learning platforms are based on relational database management systems (RDBMS) and are well suited for handling structured data. However, it is expected from e-learning solutions to efficiently handle unstructured data as well. The purpose of this paper is to show an alternative to current solutions for unstructured data management. Design/methodology/approach – Current repository-based solution for file management was compared to MongoDB architecture according to their functionalities and characteristics. This included several categories: data integrity, hardware acquisition, processing files, availability, handling concurrent users, partition tolerance, disaster recovery, backup policies and scalability. Findings – This paper shows that it is possible to improve e-learning platform capabilities by implementing a hybrid database architecture that incorporates RDBMS for handling structured data and MongoDB database system for handling unstructured data. Research limitations/implications – The study shows an acceptable adoption of MongoDB inside a service-oriented architecture (SOA) for enhancing e-learning solutions. Practical implications – This research enables an efficient file handling not only for e-learning systems, but also for any system where file handling is needed. Originality/value – It is expected that future single/joint e-learning initiatives will need to manage huge amount of files and they will require effective file handling solution. The new architecture solution for file handling is offered in this paper: it is different from current solutions because it is less expensive, more efficient, more flexible and requires less administrative and development effort for building and maintaining.

Traffic Management System (TMS) is a possible implementation of a Green IT application. It can have direct impact on reducing the greenhouse gases. The focus of this report is to illustrate how event driven SOA design principles can be applied in designing traffic management system. It also discusses how cloud computing concept can be used for TMS application. Traffic during peak hours is a problem in any major city where population growth far exceeds the infrastructure. Frequent stop and start of the cars on the heavy traffic roads and slow moving traffic causes greater fuel consumption, which results in greater emission of carbon gases. If efficient traffic management system can speed up the traffic average speed it will help reduce the carbon emission. As the WiMAX technology reaches maturity and achieves greater reliability and speed for wireless data transmissions new mobile applications are possible. Traffic Management System is one such example. WiMAX can facilitate communication to and from fast moving cars. WiMAX combined with GPS (Global Positioning System) technology can facilitate building an efficient traffic management system. The authors have also discussed various scenarios where Cloud computing technology can be utilised resulting in further optimisation of the computing resources and therefore reducing the carbon emission.

In this paper the authors present the design and software development of an E-learning system based on a multi-agent (MAS) architecture. The multi-agent architecture is established on the client-server model. The MAS architecture is combined with the Dynamic Content Manager (DCM) model of E-learning developed at Bergen University College, Norway. The authors first present the quality requirements of the system before they describe the architectural decisions taken. They then evaluate and discuss the benefits of using a multi-agent architecture. Finally, the MAS architecture is compared with a pure service-oriented architecture (SOA) to observe that a MAS architecture has a lot of the same qualities as this architecture, in addition to some new ones.

The research identifies the gap that there is a convergence of interoperability of Cloud Computing (CC), Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) and Enterprise Architecture (EA). Furthermore, it outlines the existing non dynamic links between EA and SOA that are currently practiced in the industry and confirmed by scholarly articles; and provides a state of art of the link that could exist in practice between cloud computing and SOA as researched from the published scholarly material. This researched paper also refers to the planned research to test this theory first by developing a logical architectural model of such a feasibility followed by a Proof of Concept

Recently, the situatedness of learning has come to the center of attention in both research and practice, also a result of the insight that traditional learning methods in the form of large decontextualized courses lead to inert knowledge; i.e., knowledge that can be reproduced, but not applied to real-world problem solving. In order to avoid the inertness, pedagogy tries to set up authentic learning settings, an approach increasingly shared in e-learning domain. If we consider professional training, it is the immediacy of purpose and context that makes it largely different to learning in schools or academic education. This immediacy has the benefit that we actually have an authentic context that we need to preserve. The majority of current e-learning approaches, however, ignores this context and provides decontextualized forms of learning as a multimedia copy of traditional presence seminars. We show how making learning solutions aware of the context actually affects their architecture and present a showcase solution in the form of the Learning in Process service-oriented architecture.

In most existing E-learning systems, activities' content and order are presented in a static manner without taking into consideration the learners characteristics, profiles or competencies. The challenge is to adapt and regulate learning processes according to the learner profile by applying learning models that use new information technologies. There are several adaptation approaches of E-learning environments, such as, adaptive hypermedia system, semantic web, etc. In our proposed system, we adopted a Competency Based Approach to offer each learner an individualized learning path for the acquisition of the competence targeted on the basis of the collaborative filtering. Concerning the technological aspect, the system is implemented as a web services while adhering to a service-oriented architecture. This allows interoperability with heterogeneous learning systems

In this study, starting from the elastic optical network, the layered and function isolated service-oriented architecture (SOA) is introduced, so as to propose an elastic optical network SOA for cloud computing, and further study the resource mapping of optical network. Linear mapping model, random routing mapping algorithm, load balancing mapping algorithm and link separation mapping algorithm are introduced respectively, and the resource utilization effect of different mapping algorithms for the proposed optical network is compared. During the experiment, firstly, the elastic optical network is tested. It is found that the node utilization and spectrum utilization of the underlying optical fiber level network are significantly improved. Within the average service time of 0.312 s∼0.416 s, the corresponding node utilization and spectrum utilization are 90% and 80% respectively. In the resource mapping experiment, load balancing algorithm and link separation algorithm can effectively improve the mapping success rate of services. Among them, the link separation mapping algorithm can improve the spectrum resource utilization of optical network by 15.6%. The elastic optical network SOA proposed in this study is helpful to improve the use of network resources.
