We explore a bilingual next-word predictor (NWP) under federated optimization for a mobile application. A character-based LSTM is server-trained on English and Dutch texts from a custom parallel corpora. This is used as the target performance. We simulate a federated learning environment to assess the feasibility of distributed training for the same model. The popular Federated Averaging (FedAvg) algorithm is used as the aggregation method. We show that the federated LSTM achieves decent performance, yet it is still sub-optimal. We suggest possible next steps to bridge this performance gap. Furthermore, we explore the effects of language imbalance varying the ratio of English and Dutch training texts (or clients). We show the model upholds performance (of the balanced case) up and until a 80/20 imbalance before decaying rapidly. Lastly, we describe the implementation of local client training, word prediction and client-server communication in a custom virtual keyboard for Android platforms. Additionally, homomorphic encryption is applied to provide with secure aggregation guarding the user from malicious servers.

In the realities of the pandemic, chat bots have become indispensable helpers. They do not need a lot of resources and constant human control. A method of interacting with social networks through a specialized software interface Web API, which is the basis of the REST architecture, is considered. The basic structure of requests for receiving and sending data to servers is presented. On the example of the implementation of a chatbot for vk.com, capable of automating a dialogue with users, the main design stages are presented, including the requirements for the implementation and operation mode based on the client-server architecture, implementation and testing. The project server is implemented on a Raspberry Pi4 single-board computer. Demonstrated code for performing basic queries and implemented a Long Polling approach to continuously track and distribute user messages. Methods were formed to obtain the necessary resources from the server, to declare a new resource on the server, to update information on the server, and to delete certain objects from the database. The result was a patented software product "Intelligent assistant of VSUIT for social networks".

SaaS is software as a service. In previous days when the concept of providing the facility of distributed system from where information can be shared was introduced then the concept of Application service provider came into the picture. The idea was to provide application-based services to the companies using client server techniques. It became popular. SaaS is introduced to provide software also as a service which is upgraded version of the ASP. In this paper SaaS will be discussed in detail. There are two main types of SaaS. The challenges in implementation of SaaS will also be discussed.

The purpose of the article is to review the concepts for creating web applications, analyze the advantages and disadvantages of modern technologies for weather forecasting. The article presents modern client-server technologies. The concept of a single-page application and other technologies that allow interaction between the client and the server online are discussed in detail. The development of an application for tracking weather conditions based on the architecture of the SPA is presented. The research methodology includes processing theoretical information and analyzing the architecture of the application, built on the principle of SPA, analyzing the advantages and disadvantages of approaches to client-server interaction, using Angular, Vue, React libraries, using APIs to create applications. The novelty of the research is the analysis of the modern concepts and technologies that allow you to develop web applications that can be used to build a modern web application of the Single Page Application concept, a detailed analysis of Angular, Vue, React libraries and user interaction with such systems, analysis of Service Workers technology as a way of hashing. Conclusions. The article analyzes modern technologies for creating web applications, presents their advantages and disadvantages, discusses the concept of Single Page Application and describes the development of an application for tracking weather conditions, provides analogues for comparative characteristics, discusses problems that arise when the client part interacts with the server application of SPA principles.

This article offers the reader a practical guide to the design and development of a distributed client-server system designed to perform automatic software updates using the example of non-trivial functionality. For comparison, examples of existing systems and solutions used to perform software updates are given and justifications for their functional unsuitability in the given circumstances are provided.

Has been carried out analysis of the subject area and main functions of the intellectual system for research of space weather parameters are identified. The model of static structure of intellectual system is developed as well as its dynamic aspects are modeled. Also is constructed an architecture of intellectual system for research of space weather parameters on the basis of “client-server” two-level model. The scientific novelty of the obtained results stands on developed model of the intellectual system for research of space weather parameters. The practical significance of the intellectual system lies in its capabilities: automated collection and processing of data on the manifestations of solar activity; storing information in the database; data analysis and establishing links between helio- and geo-activity indicators, as well as forecasting geophysical disturbances caused by cosmic factors.

The article discusses designing and developing an automated information system for assessing the professional qualities and competencies of the enterprise employees. There has been noted the system’s ability to test the employees, taking into account the specifics of the enterprise and the individual achievements of employees. There has been analyzed an integrated method that allows composing individual test tasks consisting of tests and routine problems, whose sequence is determined by the answers of the employees tested. The automated information system is implemented as a one-page SPA application. Vue.js and Express.js frameworks are used. In the process of designing an automated information system the main functional requirements were determined, the structure of the database was developed. The system implements the principles of access control based on the differentiation of user rights. The roles of users and administrator are defined. The architecture of the developed automated information system based on the client-server approach has been designed. The function of creating tests in the developed system allows creating tests with different types of questions and forming different individual trajectories of testing the knowledge of the company’s employees, taking into account its specifics
