The idea of sustainable farming entails farming production management which allows for the efficient use of natural resources in order to achieve financial profit, while respecting the laws of nature and meeting expectations of society at the same time. The idea is interdisciplinary and incorporates many facets. The author analysed numerous methods of production technology which exert influence on the natural environment. The aim of the research was to evaluate if - and to what extent - agricultural production of the examined farms was sustainable. The empirical data was collected by means of the diagnostic interview technique. The poll was carried out between 2014 and 2017 among 155 respondents. The research showed that the majority of the polled farmers adhered to the sustainable farming production guidelines and tried to extend their knowledge of the subject matter.

Visitors are accompanied by monitors, a favorable environment for the conduct of a case study that seeks to analyze quantitative and qualitative the environmental education in ecotourism and adventure tourism. Questionnaires were applied to tourists, semistructured interviews to environmental monitors, rafting operator and the manager of the conservation unit. Participant observations on the trails and rafting were done. The vast majority of visitors is open for environmental education, to practice ecotourism to have contact with nature and learn something new. It was noticed that there is an effort of the management of Santa Virgínia, and monitors to conduct educational practice during the tours, but there is still no clear definition on the part of those about what would be environmental education. The lack of discussion on the subject and the no perception of the potential and the limitations of environmental education in local ecotourism can lead to efforts that do not generate the desired transformations, despite the intrinsic potential of the natural environment to provide changes in view and in individual attitudes. Animal husbandry, a major part of the contemporary German economy, is the subject of politically and morally charged discourses about the effects of the industry on the nation’s landscape and its role in economic globalization. German politicians and activists often discuss industrialized animal husbandry practices as abusive and polluting. This article analyzes how these debates are imbricated in forms of concern about nonhuman animals that tend to be differentiated geographically by urban-rural boundaries. I argue the privileging of animals as moral entities causes interpersonal friction between those who rely on animals for a living and those who do not, and expresses fundamental tensions about the rural landscape as a space of industrialized agricultural production, as opposed to a space dedicated to the conservation of the natural environment.
