We record for the first time for Colombia Megachile (Pseudomegachile) lanata (Fabricius, 1775), a bee species from Southeast Asia. This is the first record of an adventive bee species for the country besides Apis mellifera Linnaeus, 1758, the European honey bee. Megachile lanata appears to have arrived to the Caribbean coast of Colombia nearly half a century ago, reaching the Orinoquia region recently. We provide comments on diagnostic features to facilitate the recognition of this bee species and discuss its possible establishment in Colombia.

Carcinonemertes conanobrieni Simpson, Ambrosio & Baeza, 2017, an egg predator of the spiny lobster Panulirus argus (Latreille, 1804), is recorded for the first time in Colombian waters and the Caribbean. Worms were isolated from an egg mass of a lobster caught at the Gulf of Salamanca, Magdalena. Little is known about the distribution of this species and currently this record from the Caribbean Coast of Colombia is the only one outside of the Florida Keys, USA. The new record suggests that this parasite might be present in the entire Caribbean Sea.

The mirine plant bug genus Neolygus Knight is reported from Nepal and North India for the first time, thus representing the first confident distributional record of this genus from the Himalayas. A new species, Neolygus machanensis, is described from Nepal. Two known members, N. bui Lu & Zheng and N. keltoni (Lu & Zheng), newly recognized as occurring in Nepal and/or North India, are diagnosed. Habitus images of live individuals and illustrations of the male genitalia are provided for all treated species. A checklist of the Old World species, and discussion of the systematic position and zoogeography of Neolygus are included. Neolygus partitus (Walker, 1873) [Capsus], N. mjohjangsanicus (Josifov, 1992) [Lygocoris], and Neolygus zebei (Günther, 1997) [Lygocoris] are proposed as new combinations.

Sixty species of hydroids, assigned to 24 families and 39 genera, are recognized and discussed in a collection of material from the southwest coast of Florida. One new species (Clytia joycei) is described from turtlegrass (Thalassia testudinum) and reported as well from the Caribbean coast of Panama. Under provisions of the First Reviser Principle in the International Code of Zoological Nomenclature, Antennopsis nigra Nutting, 1900 is assigned precedence over its simultaneous synonym A. longicorna Nutting, 1900. Also included as a synonym of A. nigra is A. sinuosa Fraser, 1947b. The species is now assigned to Nemertesia Lamouroux, 1816, as N. nigra. Following Reversal of Precedence provisions in the code, the well-known name Halecium nanum Alder, 1859 is designated as valid and conserved as a nomen protectum, while Hydra articulata Bosc, 1797 is relegated to a nomen oblitum. The genus Monotheca Nutting, 1900 is upheld as valid on the basis of both morphological and molecular evidence. Sertularia pourtalesi Nutting, 1904, a seldom-reported species, is assigned to Dynamena Lamouroux, 1812 and recognized as distinct from D. disticha (Bosc, 1802). Calyptospadix cerulea Clarke, 1882 and Bimeria franciscana Torrey, 1902 (also known as Garveia franciscana) are taken to be conspecific, with Calyptospadix Clarke, 1882 treated as a valid genus. Confusion over the identity of Lovenella gracilis Clarke, 1882 in literature on North American hydroids is addressed, and topotypic specimens from the Chesapeake Bay region are illustrated to document characters that distinguish the species. Campanularia colombiana (Wedler, 1976) is reported for the first time outside the Caribbean coast of Colombia. Western honey bees (Apis mellifera) are important pollinators in the ecosystem and also play a crucial economic role in the honey industry. During the last decades, a continuous decay was registered in honey bee populations worldwide, including Hungary. In our study, we used metagenomic approaches and conventional PCR screening on healthy and winter mortality affected colonies from multiple sites in Hungary. The major goal was to discover presumed bee pathogens with viral metagenomic experiments and gain prevalence and distribution data by targeted PCR screening. We examined 664 honey bee samples that had been collected during winter mortality from three seemingly healthy colonies and from one colony infested heavily by the parasitic mite Varroa destructor in 2016 and 2017. The subsequent PCR screening of honey bee samples revealed the abundant presence of Apis mellifera filamentous virus (AmFV) for the first time in Central Europe. Based on phylogeny reconstruction, the newly-detected virus was found to be most closely related to a Chinese AmFV strain. More sequence data from multiple countries would be needed for studying the detailed phylogeographical patterns and worldwide spreading process of AmFV. Here we report the prevalent presence of this virus in Hungarian honey bee colonies.

Three species of the genus Heterodinium Kofoid are reported for the first time in coastal waters of the Colombian Caribbean. The identified species are Heterodinium rigdenae Kofoid, 1906, Heterodinium agassizii Kofoid, 1907 and Heterodinium angulatum Kofoid y Michener, 1911. Information about distribution of these species in the Caribbean Sea and the Gulf of Mexico is given.

Two species of the crab family Cryptochyridae, Opecarcinus hypostegus (Shaw and Hopkins) and Troglocarcinus corallicola Verrill, are reported for the first time on the Caribbean coast of Colombia, thus extending the known distribution of the two species. For both species a short diagnosis and remarks on their distribution, depth range and association with corals are included.

Dichromothrips corbetti (Priesner, 1936) (Thysanoptera: Thripidae): a new quarantine pest in orchids in Brazil Dichromothrips corbetti (Priesner, 1936), listed as quarantine pest by the Brazilian Ministry of Agriculture, is recorded for the first time in Brazil. Specimens were first detected in the state of Bahia causing chlorosis and deformation on leaves, flowers and flower buds of Vanda and Mokara and Aranda orchids. This thrips species is native to Southeast Asia, but widely reported in countries of Europe and Oceania. This is the first record of D. corbetti in South America.

The coccolithophorid Scyphosphaera apsteinii is here reported for the first time from waters off the west coast of the Baja California Peninsula. Scypho­sphaera apsteinii is the type species of the genus Scyphosphaera and had hitherto been recorded only in the Atlantic and Indian Oceans, the Gulf of Mexico, the Mediterranean, and the Caribbean Seas. Specimens were found in samples collected in nets off Isla de Guadalupe in January 2013. This recording thus extends the geographical distribution of S. apsteinii from the Central Pacific (Hawaii) to the Eastern Pacific (NW Mexico).

The sclerogibbid wasp genus Caenosclerogibba Yasumatsu, 1958 (Hymenoptera: Sclerogibbidae) and the species C. longiceps (Richards, 1958) are recorded for the first time in the Philippines. The discovery of Caenosclero­gibba in the Philippines extends the range of the genus distribution from China and Japan downward to Southeast Asia. Caenosclerogibba longiceps is the second species of Sclerogibbidae recorded from the country.

Forty nine macroalgal species (7 Chlorophyta, 4 Phaeophyta and 38 Rhodophyta) are reported for the first time for the Banco de las Animas, at the southwest of Santa Marta City (Salamanca Gulf, Colombia). The collections were made between 20 and 30 m depth. The green alga Halimeda gracilis Harvey ex J. Agardh and the red ones Corynomorpha clavata (Harvey) J. Agardh, Cryptonemia sp., Acrothamnion butleriae (Collins) Kylin, Antithamnion ogdeniae Abbott, Antithamnionella breviramosa (Dawson) Wollaston in Womersley and Bailey, Hypoglossum simulans Wynne, Price et Ballantine and H. subsimplex Wynne, are new records for the Caribbean coast of Colombia. Thefloristiccompositionof thebankhasasimilarityof 81 % with the one present at the same depths in the Tairona Natural National Park. Due to this characteristic and to the exuberance of certain species, the Banco de las Animas is considered a refuge, in which these plants avoid the herbivorous fishes and urchins of the shallow rock-coral reefs.
