Beban non linier yang belum berbentuk gelombang sinusoidal telah terdistorsi oleh distorsi harmonisa arus. Beban non linier merupakan salah satu penyebab timbulnya distorsi yang dapat mengakibatkan kualitas daya listrik semakin buruk. Paper ini membahas hasil simulasi penggunaan filter tunggal yang disetel untuk mengurangi distorsi yang disebabkan oleh beban non linier akibat personal computer dan printer untuk pencetakan. Pengukuran menggunakan alat power quality analyzer fluke. Hasil pengukuran terhadap 4 merk PC yang berbeda menunjukan bahwa nilai beban non linier yang dihasilkan mengalami penurunan. Beban personal komputer merk A dari THDi sebesar 120,7 % menurun menjadi 110,8% , merk B dari THDi sebesar 121,9% menjadi 109,9 %, merk C dari THDi sebesar 150,1% menurun menjadi 100,2 %, merk D dari THDi sebesar 176,2% menurun menjadi 104,1 %. Penurunan total harmonic distorsion arus setelah direduksi sebesar 0,8 – 1 %. Penggunaan filter berhasil menurunkan nilai THDi. Non-linear loads that have not been in the form of sinusoidal waves have been distorted by current harmonic distortion. Non-linear loads, one of the causes of distortion can cause the quality of electric power to get worse. Research on the simulation method uses a single filter as a filter that is adjusted to reduce distortion caused by non-linear loads using personal computers and printers for printing machines. Where the measurement uses a Fluke Power quality analyzer, the resulting non-linear load value is obtained on non-linear loads with personal computer loads brand A has a THDi of 120.7% decreasing to 110.8%, brand B THDi of 121.9% becomes 109.9%, the C THDi brand by 150.1% decreased to 100.2%, the D THDi brand by 176.2% decreased to 104.1% where the decrease in the total harmonic current distortion after reduction was 0.8 - 1%. The use of a filter was successful in lowering the THDi value.

The paper presents the analysis of harmonic distortion when non-linear load is connected in different phases of power system with STATCOM for singly excited induction generator system with wind turbine as prime mover. Now-a-days due to the drastically increased in use of non linear loads causes many power quality problems in power system network. Those problems are classified as reactive power problems, harmonics, voltage sags and swells. Out of these problems harmonic problems are major concern. Custom power devices proposed for mitigation of power quality in network. For compensation of harmonic, static compensator (STATCOM) is used. The paper presents the compensation of harmonic power quality issues using STATCOM for the system with singly-excited induction generator feeding non-linear load connected in different phases. STATCOM is controlled using synchronous reference frame theory to produce pulses to switches of STATCOM sensing the input parameters. Proposed concept was developed using MATLAB/SIMULINK software and results are presented for non-linear load connected in different phases of the power system. THD analysis was shown for source current and load current for different cases.

Abstract: The use of equipment with a high non-linear load causes a decrease in the quality of power (Power Quality) at Malang City Point Apartment. Power quality analysis is an important requirement in the electrical system and needs special attention to save energy and costs. Savings can be achieved by reducing or even eliminating losses resulting from the use of non-linear loads. This thesis aims to present the results of an analysis of power quality conditions at Malang City Point Apartments. This analysis includes voltage, current, voltage and current imbalance, power factor, current THD and measured voltage. The system is designed using Web - Based Power Quality Meter (PM 5110) as a measurement tool, then the results are analyzed and compared with existing standards to evaluate power quality in Malang City Point Apartments. Among the various power quality problems measured, it was found that the main problems of power quality in Malang City Point Apartments were the occurrence of overvoltages and current harmonic distortion. So it is necessary to do repairs on this to overcome the overvoltage by reducing the operation of equipment that has a large load and repairing neutral conductors. Furthermore, to reduce the system harmonics, it is designed by designing a single tuned passive filter and simulated using the ETAP software version 16.0.0.

The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of harmonic distortion with harmonic load on the performance of trip Type C Flow Miniature circuit breakers 2A, 4A, and 6A The method used is descriptive quantitative method. The research subjects to be examined are miniature circuit breakers. In collecting data, carried out harmonic load population testing and testing with a Power Quality Analyzer with a voltage source PLN and Genset, the results of MCB samples obtained were analyzed for trip characteristics referring to SPLN 108 : 1993 and IEEE. The results showed that from testing trip characteristics using harmonic loads and PLN voltage sources and generators carried out on miniature circuit breakers trip changes occurred which were still within the standard limits of SPLN 108: 1993. Then the results of testing of non-linear load such as a combination of incandescent, spotlight lamps, and fluorescent lamp ballast electronic, with currents flowing at 1.5 x In on the MCB. In the MCB using the PLN voltage source get MCB 2A THD Current 71.45%, MCB 4A THD Current 46.64%, MCB 6A THD Current 34.71% while the MCB using Genset voltage source get MCB 2A THD Current 52.07%, MCB 4A THD Current 31.54%, MCB 6A THD Current 24.62%. From the tests that have been done in getting the results, the greater harmonic distortion (THD Current) can affect the working mechanism of the MCB which results in faster MCB termination time in terminating the circuit. ABSTRAK Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui pengaruh distorsi harmonisa dengan beban harmonik terhadap kinerja trip miniature circuit breaker Tipe C Arus 2A, 4A, dan 6A   Metode yang digunakan adalah metode deskriptif kuantitatif. Subjek penelitian yang akan diteliti adalah miniature circuit breaker Pada pengumpulan data, dilakukan pengambilan populasi beban harmonik dan melakukan pengujian dengan alat ukur Power Quality Analyzer dengan sumber tegangan PLN dan Genset, hasil pengujian sampel MCB yang didapat lalu dianalisis mengenai karakteristik trip yang mengacu pada SPLN 108:1993  dan IEEE Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa dari pengujian karakteristik trip dengan menggunakan beban harmonik dan sumber tegangan PLN dan genset yang dilakukan pada miniature circuit breaker terjadi perubahan trip yang masih dalam batas standar SPLN 108:1993. Kemudian hasil pengujian terhadap beban non linear berupa lampu hemat energi, lampu spotlight, dan kombinasi lampu pijar dengan arus yang di alirkan sebesar 1.5 x In pada MCB. Pada MCB dengan menggunakan sumber tegangan PLN di dapatkan MCB 2A THD Arus 71.45%, MCB 4A THD Arus 46.64%, MCB 6A THD Arus 34.71% sedangkan Pada MCB dengan menggunakan sumber tegangan Genset di dapatkan MCB 2A THD Arus 52.07%, MCB 4A THD Arus 33.35%, MCB 6A THD Arus 24.62%. Dari pengujian yang telah dilakukan di dapatkan hasil semakin besar distorsi harmonik arus (THD Arus) maka dapat mempengaruhi mekanisme kerja pada MCB yang mengakibatkan waktu pemutusan MCB menjadi lebih cepat dalam melakukan pemutusan rangkaian.

This paper presents the effect of total harmonic distortion (THD) in power factor correction (PFC) at non-linear load. This study focuses on the relationship between THD and PFC. This is beacuse,the power factor affects THD. This occurs in power system as we have variety of loads, i. e linear load or non-linear load. The variety of loads will influence the sinusoidal waveform, which comes out from harmonic distortion. Thus, based on this study, we can compare the effective method in improving the power factor as it will not disturb the performance of THD. The focus of study is on the single phase load, where the voltage restriction is 240 V.  The analysis will  only focus on the consumer, which depends on the variety of non-linear load. Besides, the parameters for analysis are based on the percentage of THD and the value of power factor. The instrument for measuring the parameter is based on power factor correction device or technique. On the other hand, the method that was used for this study is based on simulation which incorporated the Multisim software. At the end of ths study, we can choose the most effective method that can be used to improve the power factor correction without disturbing the THD.

Non linear load harmonics cause, Air Conditioning is one of the main types of inverters that generate non linear load harmonics. Harmonics on the Air Conditioning so that the reduction must not interfere with the quality of power on the system and network. The ability of an Air Conditioning unit to cool a room can be known as Coefficient Of Performance (COP). This can be seen from the comparison between the heat energy required to cool the room with the electric energy used on the unit. In this case you will know the impact caused by the reduction of the harmonics of the COP. Reduction of harmonics used in this study using 16 F capacitor which also serves as a power factor improvement. The results obtained after using the capacitor found impairment harmonic currents (IHDi). After the measurement of the COP also increased from 2,740 becomes 3,176. This proves that the capacitor also function besides improving the power factor can reduce the harmonics an improve the COP.
