Abstract The present study was an effort to assess the mitigation interventions carried out, so far, by the nations to fight the pandemic COVID-19. The novelty of the study was that it had considered the issue of pandemic mitigation strategy as a decision making problem. The performances of the twenty nations were to be ranked. The problem considered in the study was essentially a Multi-Criteria Decision Analysis (MCDA) problem. The available alternatives were the 20 countries and the 8 traits were the criteria. The Technique of Order Preference Similarity to the Ideal Solution (TOPSIS) was used in the present study. The study used Entropy method for assignment of weights to all the criteria. The performance score obtained in respect of the countries considered in the study and the corresponding ranks indicated the relative performances of the countries in their efforts to mitigate the COVID-19 pandemic. The results show that New Zealand is the best performing country and India is the worst one. Brazil ranked 17th, while the rank of UK was 15. The performance of the USA stood at 18th position.

In existing literature, there are several studies on supplier selection process, which opine that the suppliers information is usually incomplete and uncertain. Several methods have been proposed for solving this problem, one of which is the Technique for Order Preference by Similarity to Ideal Solution (TOPSIS) method with interval data. There is no doubt that the TOPSIS with interval data method is a powerful technique in uncertain decision-making context. Despite its usefulness, it is logical that when data are imprecise, weight is imprecise too. To overcome this limit, the extended Shannons Entropy method with interval data is used. The main findings of this study confirm the effectiveness of the hybrid proposed models.

Due to the lack of trusted third parties as guarantees in peer-to-peer (P2P) networks, how to ensure trusted transactions between peers has become a research hotspot. However, the open and distributed characteristics of P2P networks have brought challenges to network security, and there are problems such as node fraud and unavailability of services in the network. To solve the problem of how to select trusted transaction peers in P2P groups, a new trust model, GT-Bidding, is proposed in this paper. This model follows the bidding process of human society. First, each service peer applies for a group of guarantee peers and carries out credit mortgages for this service. Second, based on the entropy and TOPSIS method (Technology for Order Preference by Similarity to an Ideal Solution) approaching the ideal solution, a set of ideal trading sequences is selected. Then, the transaction impact function is used to assign weights to the selected guarantee peers and service nodes, respectively; thus, the comprehensive trust of each service node can be calculated. Finally, the service peer is verified using feedback based on the specific confidence level, which encourages the reputation of the service and its guarantee peers to update. Experiments show that GT-Bidding improves the successful transaction rate and resists complex attacks.

Salah satu metode MCDM adalah Technique for Order Preference by Similarity to Ideal Solution (TOPSIS). Kata Kunci—Wali kelas, Ideal, TOPSISEducation is one of the important things in a country. Education can be obtained from formal, informal or non-formal education. Examples of formal education are schools and high schools, in schools there is a homeroom teacher who is responsible for students in one class or study room in a school environment. In determining the ideal homeroom, the principal can see the characteristics and abilities of the teacher objectively. Multiple Criteria Decision Making (MCDM) is one of the most widely used methods in decision making. One of the MCDM methods is Technique for Order Preference by Similarity to Ideal Solution (TOPSIS). This study uses the TOPSIS method which can analyze multi-criteria decisions where the method can choose the best alternative with the closest distance from the ideal alternative. The results obtained from this study are Determination of the homeroom teacher is done by finding the preference value of each teacher, the largest of the 3 classes used. Calculations performed using different weights for each class in order to get the value of the prefix as a reference for determining the ideal homeroom teacher. Keywords—Homeroom teacher, Ideal, TOPSIS

In North Maluku, especially in Ternate, many football schools have been opened to train and find potential Indonesian National players. One of them has contributed to producing Indonesian National player candidates, namely Sekolah Sepak Bola (SSB) Tunas Gamalama. The problems that occur at this time at SSB Tunas Gamalama, managers and coaches are difficult to determine the ideal player to fill each position. Oftentimes, SSB Tunas Gamalama students choose a position according to their idol football players, and also because of the popularity of these positions. The tendency of SSB Tunas Gamalama students to be like this results in an imbalance of potential players in certain position. During this time the coach takes a long time and is often subjective in selecting players at every position available. In this research, the Technique for Order Preference by Similarity to Ideal Solution (TOPSIS) method was used as a method of decision support. This article aims to build a Decision Support System (DSS) in determining the ideal football player based on the player's position (The idealPosition System) using the TOPSIS method. This research produces DSS which can be used to determine the ideal soccer player based on the player's position.

Identifying the influential nodes in complex networks is a challenging and significant research topic. Though various centrality measures of complex networks have been developed for addressing the problem, they all have some disadvantages and limitations. To make use of the advantages of different centrality measures, one can regard influential node identification as a multi-attribute decision-making problem. In this paper, a dynamic weighted Technique for Order Preference by Similarity to Ideal Solution (TOPSIS) is developed. The key idea is to assign the appropriate weight to each attribute dynamically, based on the grey relational analysis method and the Susceptible–Infected–Recovered (SIR) model. The effectiveness of the proposed method is demonstrated by applications to three actual networks, which indicates that our method has better performance than single indicator methods and the original weighted TOPSIS method.

Life insurance is an agreement between an insured and an insurer, where the insurer pays out a sum of money either on a specific period or the death of the insured. Now a day, People can buy a policy through an online platform. There are a lot of insurance companies available in the market, and each company has various policies. Selecting the best insurance company for purchasing an online term plan is a very complex problem. People may confuse to choose the best insurance company for buying an online term. It is a multi-criteria decision making (MCDM) problem, and the problem consists of different criteria and various alternatives. Here in this paper, a model has been proposed to solve this decision-making problem. In this model, a fuzzy multi-criteria decision-making approach combined with technique for order preference by similarity to ideal solution (TOPSIS) and it has been applied to rank the different insurance companies based on online term plans. The experimental results show that the life insurance corporation of India (LIC) gets the top rank out of 12 companies for purchasing an online term plan. A sensitivity analysis has been performed to validate the proposed model.
