✓Intramedullary inclusion cysts are extremely rare within the rostral spinal cord. In this case report the authors outline the clinical features and surgical treatment of one dermoid cyst and one epidermoid cyst of the cervicothoracic junction. The authors also include a relevant literature discussion regarding the treatment and the embryological origin of these lesions.

Summary This report presents clinical case with a histopathologically established lipoma of the sublingual space. Lipomas are benign mesenchymal neoplasms produced by adipocytes. Our search in the literature demonstrated that the development of lipomas in the sublingual space is extremely rare. In the oral cavity, it is seen in less than 5% of patients. In this paper, we describe clinical features, imaging diagnostic and histopathological features. Lipomas are characterized by slow growth and could be asymptomic, therefore diagnosis could be delayed. This report describes and discusses the case of a 64 years-old-man with a formation, located below the left tongue, for a period of 4 years. The patient had repeatedly consulted with Ear-Nose-Throat (ENT) specialists and dentists who recommended surgical treatment. During the last month of the monitoring, the formation had grown significantly and the chewing and speech function had gradually worsened.

Introduction: Periapical cysts are the most frequent odontogenic cystic lesions, commonly asymptomatic and discovered in routine dental examinations. The treatment may vary according to the size of the cyst. Objective: The objective of this study is to report the diagnosis and treatment of a large periapical inflammatory cyst in the maxilla. Case report: Patient A.B., 38 years old, male with major complaint of pain in the left maxilla region, facial asymmetrywith increased volume in the zygomatic bone region. After the intrabuccal and radiographic examinations, a lesion with a dimension of approximately 6.5 cm was observed, extending throughout the of the upper left side, with well-defined extension. It was performed the extraction of the affected teeth, collection of the biological material for histopathological analysis and installation of a drain for decompression maintained in the buccal cavity for 6 months with periodic irrigations with saline solution. After regression of the lesion, enucleation and curettage were performed. After 36 months following-up it is possible to observe absence of signs and symptoms of lesion recurrence, with good healing and bone neoformation. Conclusion: Decompression followed by enucleation forthe treatment of periapical inflammatory cyst should be considered as a treatment option because it minimizes damage to adjacent anatomical structures.

The pancreas is rarely affected by Mycobacterium tuberculosis infections, probably because of the presence of pancreatic enzymes and only few cases are reported. The differential diagnosis with pancreatic carcinoma represents a challenge because of clinical and radiological similarities. We report a case of 30 year-old women presented with pain and lump in epigastric region with constitutional symptoms - weight loss, nausea and occasional vomiting. Preoperative diagnosis of pancreatic tuberculosis requires a high index of suspicion and usually its diagnosis is established after surgical treatment. The diagnosis of this reported case was confirmed by histopathological analysis following laparotomy. The response of the disease to anti tubercular drugs was good.TAJ 2009; 22(1): 264-268

We present the case of an 18-year-old high-level gymnast who sustained a stress fracture of the scaphoid associated with a distal radial epiphysiolysis. Clinical evaluation demonstrated decreased range of motion of the affected wrist and insidious pain on the snuffbox and tenderness on the distal radial physis. He was submitted to surgical treatment with scaphoid percutaneous fixation and radial styloid process in situ fixation. Clinical features improved, and he got back to competition 6 months after surgery without symptoms and with complete range of motion.

Cavernous hemangiomas are benign tumours of mesodermal origin. Even though various localizations of hemangioma have been described in the literature, its occurrence in the greater omentum is very rare. Only symptomatic hemangiomas are indicated for surgical treatment. There are case reports presenting resection or surgical removal of the greater omentum with hemangioma because of mechanical syndrome, consumption coagulopathy, bleeding, infection or suspicion of a malignancy. This article presents a case report of a patient operated on for a suspicion of carcinomatosis of the greater omentum. Histological examination found hemangiomatosis in the resected greater omentum.

Ectodermal dysplasia is a heterogeneous group of inherited disorder affecting two or more ectodermally derived tissues such as skin, hair, nails, eccrine glands and teeth. The disorder is of two types: Hypohydrotic ectodermal dysplasia/Christ seimens –Touraine syndrome and Hydrotic ectodermal dysplasia/clousten syndrome. Commonly associated signs include hypohidrosis, anomalous dentition, onychodysplasia, hypotrichosis. Multidisciplinary approaches are required for optimal treatment3. Here, we present two cases of 19 and 13 year old male siblings who were diagnosed with the disorder based upon their clinical features. Key Words: ectodermal dysplasia, hypodontia; anomalous dentition.
