Articles published in Science Direct between 2009 and 2014 (May) were screened in this research. This is because of its respectable position in the field of technology and peer-reviewed secured structure of this database. From a total of 161 articles within the scope of the screening 156 articles were included in the study. Through this research, new trends in mobile learning activities in recent years will be determined and a new way will be shown for researchers . "Mobile learning" keywords used during researching process and all the articles with "mobile learning" keywords were included in this study. As a result of this research, it is determined that the most studies in the field of mobile learning were published in 2013 in Malaysia, UK and Taiwan. Particularly undergraduate students was selected as the sample group of the researches. It is emerged that, experimental research was used maximum as a research model. Quantitative data collection tools were used most as a means of data collection. It was emerged that foreign language education is the most widely used field in mobile learning. It is seen that smart phones  as mobile learning devices and IOS operating system as an operating system were used in the most researches. Mobile-based method is seen to be used as the teaching method in the present study. Keywords: mobile learning, mobile education, mobile technology, content analysis.

The use of vlogs has increased significantly in the context of English learning, especially in the context of English as a Foreign Language education. Yet little has been reported on how university EFL students perceive vlogs for their English learning, e.g. speaking activities. Thus, this paper aimed to investigate students’ and teachers’ perceptions of vlog-mediated English speaking activities. From 99 EFL students and teachers, 49 students of the English department of a private university were recruited to participate in this study. After a week of a classroom project of vloging in speaking activities was implemented, questionnaires were distributed. Then a semi-structured interview was conducted to further explore students’ perceptions of vloging activities. The findings show that vlog-mediated EFL speaking successfully stimulated students for speaking English. Students enjoyed the vloging activities. Students’ learning motivation was also improved. Some implication of the vlog-mediated EFL speaking activities were presented and discussed. Students’ speaking engagement and challenges were also elaborated. Цель. Статья посвящена изучению феномена иноязычного образования в историко-педагогическом аспекте. Предметом анализа выступают предпосылки становления иноязычного образования в Европе и Древней Руси (V–XIV вв.). Автор ставит целью провести сравнительную характеристику данного феномена и выявить схожие и различные стороны средневековых европейских и древнерусских подходов к обучению иностранным языкам.Материалы и методы. Основу исследования образуют теоретические методы (методы анализа и синтеза, обобщения и систематизации, метод аналогии), а также методы исторической науки (метод исторической периодизации, ретроспективный метод, историко-логический метод).Результаты. Результаты работы заключаются в том, что автор дает характеристику Средневековья и древнерусского периода с точки зрения зарождения иноязычного образования. В эпоху Средневековья на преподавание иностранных языков существенно влияло христианское вероучение и идеи античных философов и педагогов, а затем схоластика. Средневековые методы обучения иностранным языкам не предусматривали глубокого погружения в язык. На Руси, начиная с X–XI вв., открывались дворцовые школы, где изучались иностранные языки. Основной формой обучения иностранному языку князей было «кормильство», при котором ученики неизбежно постигали культуру иноязычного государства.Выводы. Методы, которыми пользовались в Древней Руси, приносили больше плодов, чем те, что использовались в эпоху Средневековья. А метод «погружения» в языковую среду на Руси наложил отпечаток на последующие методы обучения иностранным языкам в нашей стране, что через много веков привело к развитию понятия «иноязычное образование» в современной России.
