Agriculture in the Czech Republic plays an important role in the degradation of individual components of the environment. Reduction of soil fertility, contamination of surface- and groundwater, reduction of biodiversity and damage caused by it are proven. The agrarian landscape does not provide the appropriate ecosystem functions. It is not attractive for life of the inhabitants of rural areas, and the permeable landscape attractive for investors. It is also not permeable and attractive for investors. The farmers are offered applicable and functional techniques, technologies and procedures. These are not used and exploited in an appropriate rate. Based on the analysis of business environment, there was found that the reason is the absence of the agroenvironmental management system in operative management of agricultural subjects. For the need of the possible implementation of the appropriate system into practice, there was developed a branch standard and subsequently a methodology for the application of agro-environmental management system on the basis of a general tool for environmental management. The methodology was developed, then implemented and tested under the conditions of a concrete farm. Before the implementation of requirements, there were established environmental indicators which were evaluated before and after the introduction of the proposed system. The results of the subsequent monitoring of the chosen environmental indicators of environmental status confirmed the functionality and accuracy of the developed management tool that can also be seen as the best available technique for the implementation of the current and prepared agricultural policy.

For some years now, Moroccan industrial companies have begun to integrate the environment into their management and to set up an environmental management system, in compliance with international standards, in order to meet the requirements of stakeholders. The fact remains that this management tool has enabled companies to control the impact of their activity on the environment by promoting manufacturing excellence. On a sample of twenty-two large industrial companies with a response rate of 55%, we conducted a quantitative and qualitative study, which allowed us to show the importance of EMS iso 14001 on the performance and competitiveness of the Moroccan industrial company.

Abstract The research was carried out from January 2012 to July 2015, made possible the participatory elaboration of an environmental management system based on the evaluation of the basic and environmental performance of the Biopharmaceutical Laboratory Biopharmaceutical Plant (LABIOFAM) Las Tunas, up to the proposal of actions to be implemented as well as the system of environmental indicators for monitoring and control. The results of the entity's diagnosis reveal the existence of shortcomings that limit its evaluation and transformation in business projection. The evaluation of the design of the environmental management system shows its feasibility, as an alternative to the need for tools that contribute to the participation, evaluation, projection and decision making of the decision makers in the management of this process at the enterprise level. This article proposes a project to implement an Environmental Management System (EMS) suitable to a large condominiums administrator in Rio de Janeiro (Brazil), based on the parameters of the ISO 14001. The tool may be adequate to companies of any branch or size promoting competitive advantage and becoming an aggregator of value, in addition to contributing to the conservation of the environment. This is a case study developed in a condominium management company, aiming the analysis of its practices and subsequent development of EMS focused on its reality. It was evidenced through the study that there are substantial advantages in the environmental, economic and social area through the implementation of an Environmental Management System. It can also be pointed out that the real savings generated by the reduction of water and electricity consumption will have a positive impact on the coffers of the company, and these values could be applied in other real needs that until then could not be met due to lack of resources. The proposed EMS demonstrates that it is possible to apply this environmental management tool to real estate companies with a predominance of administrative processes. It is notable that mobilization for sustainability is still far below expected, confirming the gap between theory and practice. It is hoped that this work will stimulate other companies with the same size to turn to sustainable practices in their activities.

This article is based on an exploratory research regarding Life Cycle Assessment (LCA), an environmental management tool towards product system. It was analyzed its origin, concepts, benefits, barriers, methodology and its implementation in Brazil during the last decades. Based on the results, it was observed that in order to apply this tool in Brazil it is necessary  to acquire more experience in its use. Besides that, it is essential that there be a standardization of its methodology and government incentives. Therefore, it is observed that the LCA adoption represents an important strategic change, which can assist both in the environmental management system of the company and in the productivity profits of the system.
