In the conditions of the Central Russian Black Earth Region, it is quite possible to cultivate hard winter wheat for the needs of the cereal and macaroni industry. Winter-hardy varieties Zolotko, Donchanka and etc. are suitable. Presowing cultivation with Albit, Siberian fertility, Agat 25K, Micromax, etc. affects significantly on their yield. The combination of presowing seed treatment with foliar application of vegetative plants with the same and other products (Afbif, Reksalin, ABC and etc.) turned out to be particularly effective.  Synergism has been revealed in the combination of seed treatment with Albit, Rexolin ABC and Vitazim with spraying of plants with Albit solution, Abibif, Siberian Fertility, Fertigrain Foliar and other products. Winter durum wheat have not yet allowed to cultivation in Central Chernozem Region although, as our researches have shown many varieties (Zolotko, Donchanka, Amazonka, Kurant, Alyy parus, Aksinit, Terra ant other) can be suitable for cultivation in Voronezh region forest-steppe [1, 3, 4, 8], they are 10…15 centners per hectare more yield than spring durum wheat cultivated here. The deficit of durum wheat cereal in Central Chernozem Region, which is necessary for pasta industry is very large, it can be avoided by introducing and improving the cultivation technology of winter varieties of this crop. Staff members of the crop production, fodder production and agrotechnologies department of Voronezh SAU have identified (since 1996) and substantiated the cultivation possibility of domestic relatively winter resistance winter durum wheat in Central Chernozem Region (Amazonka, Donchanka, Zolotko, Kurant and other).

The content of biologically active substances in fruit and vegetable products is an important parameter for de-termining the possibility of their use in the processing in-dustry. The research goal was to evaluate the yields and analyze the biochemical composition of different varieties of pumpkin grown in the forest-steppe of the Central Cher-nozem Region. It was found that of the studied pumpkin varieties, the maximum yields under these conditions were obtained from Seraya volzhskaya (12.7 t ha) and Zhem-chuzhina (9.3 t ha) varieties. The study of pulp chemical composition revealed that in terms of the content of caro-tene and P-active flavonols giving the brightest orange color to the pulp the variety Golosemyanka was the leading one. In terms of yield, this variety showed the medium indi-ces among the studied varieties -6.9 t ha. A fruit of this variety revealed the following content levels: carotene -20.24 mg %, ascorbic acid -20.24 mg %, and dry solids -7.4%. The Golosemyanka variety also revealed good or-ganoleptic indices. The pulp had a light orange color; the seeds lacked the usual hard shells. Therefore, the Golosemyanka variety may be recommended for use in the production of vegetable puree that will be characterized by high content of biologically active substances.

Abstact. Varieties of spring ginger included in the State Register of breeding achievements and recommended for the Central Chernozem region, cultivated in the conditions of the forest-steppe of the Lipetsk region, form different yields of oilseeds in specific production conditions. The purpose of the research was to identify the most adaptive high-yielding varieties of spring ginger, suitable for cultivation in the forest-steppe conditions of the Central Chernozem region and providing high productivity. Research methods. When studying varieties according to the main economic characteristics, the method of competitive variety testing was used in accordance with the requirements of the state testing methodology and the field experience methodology of B. A. Dospekhov. Results. Spring ginger is a precocious crop with a growing season in the context of the studied varieties: Omich – 84 days, Ekaterininskiy – 79 days and Yubilyar – 75 days. The height of the varieties ranged from 59.3 to 67.8 cm. The Omich variety was short, and the Jubilee variety was the tallest. The maximum number of pods was observed in the Ekaterininskiy variety – 49.5 pieces per plant. Among the studied varieties of spring ginger, according to the complex of positive signs, the Ekaterininskiy variety stood out, which has a higher yield (1.52 t/ha without fertilizers and 1.88 t/ha against the background of N90P60K90), and the highest oil productivity (684 kg/ha without fertilizer and 833 kg/ha against the background of N90P60K90). The Omich variety had a high oil content of seeds (48%), but it was inferior to other varieties in terms of oil collection. The Yubilyar variety provided the highest yield of crude protein from 1 ha. Scientific novelty. For the first time on leached chernozem in the conditions of a typical forest-steppe of the Central Chernozem region, a comparative study of new-generation spring ginger varieties by a complex of economically useful characteristics was carried out and the genotypes most adapted for this region were determined.
