Latvian metal music has a small but stable place on the map of the metal music world. Each year several music albums of this genre are issued in Latvia. With the decrease in demand for physical data storage devices, brochures and well designed back covers are no longer popular; however the only remaining album cover has gained even more importance – the image, photograph, picture that represents the musical material and acts either as a reflection of the content or as an element for attracting attention and is published on the Internet as well as in printed press as a concrete symbol of the album. The research aim is to describe the design of Latvian metal music album covers in 2019 in the visual context of the albums issued in the world. The research was conducted using the comparative method, looking for the local and global, the typical and different in the visualisation of album covers on the basis of not only theoretical literature but also the many years of experience of the author as a musician and a collector of music records. In general, the visual look of album covers issued in Latvia is typical for heavy metal music and fits in with the visual design of metal band albums in the rest of the world. However, there have been attempts to include eye-catching accents using national or pseudo-national elements or colours.

For historical reasons, English is the language of the internet. Currently, e-commerce attracts customers from all over the world. In order to do good business, websites must be accessible to clients from a variety of cultures and languages. To achieve usability for a global audience, websites must be internationalized as well as localized. Given the many cultures and idiosyncrasies of those cultures, both of these tasks are extremely complex and it is virtually impossible to do both at the same time. It could be helpful if some cultures do not object to the fact that the language of the internet is not the same as their home language. In this study the preferred language of reading and writing of various groupings of African users was determined. It was found that, whereas the Afrikaans-speaking subjects preferred to have written material in their home language, speakers of other African languages preferred English. This has enormous implications for website development as developers can focus on the usability and functionality of a site without having to spend time translating the content into a variety of languages.

Access to the world enabled by the Internet facilitates internationalization as never before. However, lack of a coherent global Internet strategy can relegate any company to a strictly provincial “neighborhood” status. Globalization strategies and tactics should therefore be of central concern to all enterprises. To research the strategic issues involved in Internet-based globalization, we embarked on a case study. Our goal is to explore how the Internet and its related technologies can serve to help organizations better deal with the challenges of conducting global business. Our research enabled us to identify a set of heuristic “rules of thumb” that might be used to support Internet-based globalization efforts. In our study we discuss the many challenges to establishing successful global enterprises. We then introduce a model for understanding global business requirements in the e-commerce age. We conclude by analyzing a case study to initially validate our theoretical model and summarize our findings.

In recent years, cloud computing has developed from the promising business concept that it used to be, to one of Information Technology (IT) industry's most developing section. Now that the world economy was hit by recession, the victims of this tragedy continually understand that by just outsourcing or tapping the cloud  resources, a package of virtualise, elastic, instant on-demand provision, and scalable; infrastructure, platform, and software can be access fast and easy inform of services at a negligible amount via the internet. However, as individuals and organizations embarked on the course of deploying their information and data into the cloud, anxieties are beginning to develop on whether the cloud environment is safe. This research provides an overview of the cloud deployment model, the services they offer and discusses the security issues and challenges of cloud computing in both data storage and virtual applications/servers.

Mobile phones could become the largest surveillance system on the planet. These ubiquitous, networked devices can currently sense and upload data such as images, sound, location, and motion using on-board cameras, microphones, GPS, and accelerometers. And they can be triggered and controlled by billions of individuals around the world. But the emergent, wide-scale sensing systems that phones support pose a number of questions. Who will control the necessary infrastructure for data storage, analysis, sharing, and retention? And to what purposes will such systems be deployed? This paper explores whether these questions can be answered in ways that promote empowering surveillance: large-scale data collection used by individuals and communities to improve their quality of life and increase their power relative to corporations and governments. Researchers in academic and industry laboratories around the world are currently coordinating mobile phone networks for purposes that expand the definition of surveillance. Technology movements, variously called personal sensing, urban sensing or participatory sensing, have emerged within the areas of social computing and urban computing. These research programs endeavor to make ubiquitous devices such as phones a platform for coordinated investigation of human activity. Researchers are exploring ways to introduce these technologies into the public realm, a move that anticipates sensing by people across the world. This paper uses ethnographic data collected in a sensing development laboratory to illuminate possibilities that participatory sensing holds for equitable use, meaningful community participation, and empowerment. Analyzing the motivations and values embedded within the design process and resulting technologies reveals ways in which participatory sensing builds tools for empowering surveillance and responds to the many ethical challenges these new technologies raise.

Pathology particularly histopathology is considered to be a busy and challenging field. It is considered as gold standard for the diagnosis and management of patient particularly in cases of tumor. It has been more than twenty years since the introduction of whole slide imaging (WSI) in the developed part of the world. Various whole slide image (WSI) devices and use of artificial intelligence (AI) based softwares have transformed the field of Pathology1. Digital pathology is a novel technology and currently being implemented in most of the developed part of the world.2 Once the patient’s data becomes digital, it is easily stored, reproducible on a single click and quality remains same. This data can be used to make disease models, disease trends and predict the outcome of a particular disease through data mining which will open new horizons of precise medicine. The use of WSI with computational pathology and data storage devices have revolutionized the working in histopathology. The world witnessed an exponential rise in its adoption particularly after Covid-19 pandemic1. However, in the developing world either it is not being implemented or its use is still sub-optimal.
