During the geobotanical survey of the vegetation of the southern part of the Nature Park "Numto", located within the subzone of the northern taiga in the center of the West Siberian Plain, 140 species of bryophytes, including 87 species of mosses and 53 species of liverworts, of which 24 species of mosses and all liverworts are new to the territory of the Nature Park. Two species of sphagnum mosses – Sphagnum inexpectatum and S. mirum – are the most important finds for the Western Siberia. Sphagnum inexpectatum is listed for the first time for the territory of Khanty-Mansi Autonomous District. The information on ecology and phytocenotic confinement of 18 species of mosses, known earlier in the Nature Park from one point or on a few and single finds, is supplemented. An annotated list of all identified species of bryophytes is given.

An annotated list of spider wasps collected in the circumpolar region of Western Siberia (Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous District) for the first time is given. The six species are listed, of them five species are newly recorded from Tyumen Prov. and Episyron rufipes (Linnaeus, 1758) is newly recorded from Western Siberia.

The paper provides data on records of 29 species of aphyllophoroid fungi new for the the Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Area — Yugra. Among them 10 species (Amaurodon cyaneus, Amyloxenasma allantosporum, Asterostroma laxum, Byssoporia terrestris, Paullicorticium pearsonii, Pseudomerulius montanus, Sistotrema sernanderi, Skeletocutis alutacea, S. ochroalba, Tubulicrinis orientalis) are published for the first time for Siberia, and 3 species (Scytinostroma praestans, Tomentellopsis zygodesmoides, Tubulicrinis strangulatus) are new for the West Siberia. Data on their locations, habitats and substrates in region are indicated. The specimens are kept in the Museum of the Institute of Plant and Animal Ecology of the Ural Branch of the RAS (SVER).

The ancient fortified settlement of Amnya I is a unique Early Neolithic site in the northern taiga zone of Western Siberia (Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Okrug, the Amnya river). It is located on a promontory and has three lines of defense and ten dwelling depressions. The structures of the excavated dwellings are very similar, though the artifact assemblage appears rather heterogeneous. We carried out a technical and technological analysis of ceramics, which showed no correlation between the texture, on the one hand, and the morphology and ornamentation of pots on the other one. Planiographic analysis of ceramics showed that vessels with comb and incising patterns are found in different dwellings, although there are objects in which both groups lie together. Various categories of stone implements (bladelets and polished arrowheads) also appear on different parts of the settlement. Most likely, the observed differences in the artefact complexes of objects are associated with the stages of the functioning of the settlement. The absolute chronology does not yet clarify the sequence of erection and existence of objects. New AMS date is probably vulnerable to a significant reservoir effect. The abundance of unsolved issues of absolute and relative chronology makes the resumption of research on this unique site urgent.

Based on a study of samples made by the author, 70 species of freshwater bivalves belonging to 6 genera and 2 families are recorded for the Taz River basin (north of Western Siberia). An annotated list of bivalves of the Taz basin is provided, with data on species’ range, their findings in Western Siberia and within the studied area. Some information about bionomics and abundance of bivalves are given. 45 species are for the first time registered in this basin. Most studied molluscan communities are characterized by low species richness; the distribution of species by their occurrence was extremely uneven. 22 species are characterized as rare. The highest species richness of bivalves was found in river channels, rivers and brooks; the lowest - in temporary habitats. The core of the fauna is constituted by species with broadest range (cosmopolitan, trans Holarctic, trans Palearctic) as well as by taxa with European Siberian type of distribution. From the taxonomic point of view, the bivalve fauna of the Taz basin is relatively separated from the faunas of other river basins of Western Siberia and is more similar to the fauna of the Lower Yenisean zoogeographic province (sensu Starobogatov [1986]).

Quantitative regularities of distribution and hierarchy biotic таксонов in the territory of the West Siberian Plain are investigated. The distribution of species, genera, families and orders of the biota, by geographic subareas of Western Siberia is shown. Formula geographical and hierarchical dependence taxa established, shows their selfsimilarity.

An annotated list of new records of 45 weevil species is provided. Hadroplontus litura, Larinus iaceae, Magdalis exarata, Pissodes validirostris, Stereocorynes truncorum, Platystomos albinus, Nanophyes globiformis, Ceutorhynchus dubius, and Dorytomus suratus are registered in Ukrainian Polesia for the first time. 34 species are recorded in the west part of Volynian Polesia (= Volyn Region) for the first time. Total known richness of weevils in Volyn Region is increased by 9%. Currently, the list of Curculionoideae inhabiting Volyn Region includes 386 species and subspecies. Additional data on 11 species rare in Ukraine are given. The west range limit of Asproparthenis foveocollis is extended to Volyn Polesia. Discovery of Asproparthenis vexata in Volyn Polesia confirms coexistence of specific insect assemblages associated with endemic psammophilous flora. An alien Lygniodes bischoffi entered into Ukrainian Polesia presumably from Poland. The hornbeam, Carpinus betulus was detected as a new host plant of Cossonus cylindricus for the first time.

The ancient aeolian forms of relief, which are mainly covered with pineries and coniferous forests, are widely spread in the territory of Western Siberia. Anthropogenic transformation of these landscapes leads to the formation of technogenic deserts and sandy outcrops on soils of light mechanical structure generally because of the development of oil and gas extraction industry. Such transformed ecosystems are often met in the north of the West Siberian Plain within a subzone of northern taiga of the taiga natural zone and the zone of the forest-tundra. In 2016–2017, we explored three sites of sandy outcrops in the territory of Purovsky District of Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous Okrug (Tyumen region): in 27 km to the south from Muravlenko, in 32 km to the southwest from Gubkinsky and in 23 km to the East-southeast of New Urengoy. The first two sites are located within the northern taiga; the third site is at the southern border of the forest-tundra, in the area of its gradual transition to the northern taiga. Results of the conducted researches show the considerable changes in a number of physical and chemical properties of podsolic sandy soils of technogenic deserts in comparison with soils of undisturbed ecosystems. We have revealed statistically significant decrease in the acidity of the surface soil layer to 5–6 units рН due to the destruction of the top soil horizons and exposure of the illuvial and eluvial horizons having smaller acidity. Our researches show the reduction of maintenance of fine fractions – clay and dusty particles – in the transformed soils and, respectively, increase in content of sand up to 95–100%. Also we have revealed statistically significant reduction of soil moisture content in soils of sandy outcrops.  Thus, the soils of technogenic deserts are characterized by ease, flowability, they are usually not fixed by vegetation and easily are affected by wind. The ecotopes, which are formed on sandy outcrops, differ in extreme conditions. They can be mastered only by a small number of specialized species-erosiophiles, shifting to disturbed felted habitats with similar natural ecotopes with the friable sandy and sabulous sandy soils, often mobile soil typical of marine and lake shallows, river alluvium, taluses, slopes of ravines. On the periphery of sandy outcrops the shafts of falling up to 4,5–5,5 m high are formed. They constitute the real danger to natural undisturbed north taiga and forest-tundra ecosystems, burying them under sandy masses.

The fauna of the rivers of the north of Western Siberia that do not belong to the Ob’ River basin is of particular interest from the point of view of zoogeography and understanding of the processes of formation of the freshwater malacofauna. Starting in the taiga zone, these rivers flow north and cannot serve as a way of interzonal dispersal of species from lower latitudes. However, information about the fresh-water malacofauna of these river basins is poorly presented in the scientific literature, some of the published species findings are doubtful or erroneous. The gastropod mollusks of the family Valvatidae of the Taz river basin (Western Siberia) are considered. The basin is located closer to the Yenisei than to the Ob’ River basin. The study was based on original authors’ material represented by both qualitative and quantitative samples. It has been found that eight species of mollusks of the genus Valvata occurs in the water reservoirs and streams of the Taz basin, an annotated list of species is presented, and a brief zoogeographic characteristic is given. Three species (Valvata helicoidea, V. sorensis and V. korotnevi) are for the first time recorded from the basin, one of them (V. korotnevi) is for the first time recorded from the Western Siberia waterbodies.

New locations of 25 rare species of mosses, known earlier in the Khanty-Mansi Autonomous District from one or a few locations, are provided. Their ecology, phytocenotic affinity and peculiarities of the distribution on the territory of the autonomous district and taiga zone of the Western Siberia as a whole are discussed. A high proportion of rare species in the moss flora of the central part of the taiga zone of Western Siberia resulted from limited distribution or absence of suitable habitats associated with stony substrates and outcrops of groundwater rich in mineral nutrition elements, as well as from intermediate (ecotone) position of the flora on the latitudinal bioclimatic gradient from south to north.
