It was investigated the hemodynamic condition and activity of myocardial band of creatine kinase (CK.-MB) in neonates with intrauterine growth retardation (IUGR). It was determined that neonates with grave condition of IUGR had echocardiography characters of heart failure and it was associated with high activity of CK.-MB. It was identified the neces-sity of meticulous examination of cardiovascular system of the same neonates for the early detection pathology and early treatment.

The CK-BB activity in neonates with intrauterine growth retardation (IUGR) was investi-gated and the results were compared to their clinical condition in early neonatal period. The re-sults of the study have shown that the CK-BB activity was increased in neonates with symmetric IUGR and in the presence of chronic placental insufficiency of infectious genesis.

The data of domestic and foreign literature on etiology, pathogenesis and intrauterine growth retardation diagnosis are presented in the paper. It highlights pathogenetic role of nitric oxide deficiency in case of obstetric complications and intrauterine growth retardation.
