Aim.To review the concept of the femoroacetabular impingement, its causes, pathogenesis, diagnosis and methods of treatment to increase the awareness among the practicing physicians.Materials and methods.literature data available from the medical data-bases was analyzed.Results.English-languaged literature was reviewed, key-points important to know were identified.Conclusion.Femoroacetabular impingement is a condition with quite non-specific clinic. At the moment x-ray features of this condition are well-known, algorithms of diagnosis and methods of treatment are established.

Objective: Focal cartilage injuries, and posttraumatic osteoarthritis (OA) in the wrist are likely common and a cause of wrist pain. To estimate the incidence of cartilage lesions and to understand the pathomechanisms leading to wrist cartilage injuries and OA, a literature review on the subject was performed combined with a presentation of one of the authors’ own experience. Design: This study includes a literature review of the topic. As a comparison to the review findings, the observations of one of the authors’ consecutive 48 wrist arthroscopies, were assessed. PubMed, Scholar, and Cochrane databases were searched using the keywords “cartilage injury AND wrist AND treatment” and “wrist AND cartilage AND chondral AND osteochondral AND degenerative OA.” :Result A total of 11 articles, including 9 concerning chondral and osteochondral repair and treatment and 2 regarding posttraumatic OA, were retrieved. The cartilage repair treatments used in these articles were drilling, osteochondral autograft, juvenile articular cartilage allograft, and chondrocyte implantation. One article displayed concomitant cartilage injuries in displaced distal radius fractures in 32% of the patients. The review of our findings from a 1-year cohort of wrist arthroscopies showed 17% cartilage injuries. Conclusion: There is a lack of knowledge in current literature on cartilage injuries and treatment, as well as posttraumatic OA in the wrist. Cartilage injuries appear to be common, being found in 17% to 32% of all wrist arthroscopies after trauma, but no guidelines regarding conservative or surgical treatment can be recommended at the moment. Larger prospective comparative studies are needed.

Purpose This paper aims to define the boundaries of wine tourism to identify the main challenges, trends and opportunities of wine tourism in Portugal, providing some critical recommendations for those operating in this sector. Design/methodology/approach The paper draws on a literature review and content analysis of prior and ongoing work. Findings The main challenges, trends and opportunities for the wine tourism industry in Portugal are identified, as well as suggestions and practical recommendations/contributions for managers, stakeholders, players and marketers. The paper concludes with some key points that could form the basis of a strategic agenda for future action. Originality/value Based on the reviewed literature, some benchmarks for the wine tourism industry in Portugal were developed.

This article is a review of literature that conceptualizes the practice of collective free music improvisation as a sociocommunicative endeavor, with its appended value and implications to musicians and music learners. Researchers have revealed that this conceptualization breaks down cultural and stylistic music boundaries to establish understanding and empathy among diverse and unique performers—through live music interactions and communication on an egalitarian and evolving platform that is negotiated by all participants. To enable collective free music improvisation pedagogically, researchers have highlighted the importance and ways of approaching it as a form of social interactionism, developing a personal music language to converse fluently and meaningfully, and establishing shared understanding among fellow improvisers as the foundation for music interaction. Together, these pedagogical implications may be synergized to inform ways in which classroom free improvisational practices may nurture expressive and confident improvisers rooted in the reality of the moment, as well as in the music conversations with one’s self and others.

The article analyzes the global and national research on the resistance of Candida yeasts to fluconazole. The studies demonstrate that the formation of resistance is determined by many factors: type of yeast, choice of the antimycotic medication, geographical location, etc. In addition, one can not disregard the socio-economic and even political causes. The frequency of detection of drug-resistant strains of different species of Candida yeast to fluconazole varies across different regions, between countries of the same region, and may vary from year to year within a country. In other words, the formation of yeast resistance/ susceptibility to fluconazole, and to other antifungals alike, is dynamic and may be reversible.Therefore, both global and national studies conducted over the past decades and devoted to the formation of resistance of Candida yeast to azoles, in particular, fluconazole, have shown that it is still the medication of choice for the treatment of candidiasis, including acute vulvovaginal candidiasis, as well as for relief and prevention of exacerbations of recurrent vulvovaginal candidiasis. C. krusei was and remains one of the most fluconazole-resistant yeast species. Other species, such as C. inconspicua and C. norvegensis, the number and incidence of which is too low for the moment to make any statistically valid conclusions, may in the future be added to the list.

AbstractA chronicle describing the historical context and the development of ideas and experiments leading to the discovery of the back-bending phenomenon in rapidly rotating atomic nuclei some 50 years ago is presented. The moment of inertia of some atomic nuclei increases anomalously at a certain rotational frequency, revealing important clues to our understanding of nuclear structure. I highlight the decisive interactions and contacts between experimentalists and theorists, which created the right environment, allowing for the revelation of an undetected phenomenon in Nature. Finally, I reflect on the key points allowing for the discovery and particularly point to the importance of systematic surveys, which in this case investigated the energy levels in heavy nuclei of a large sample of elements, as well as to the accuracy of the measurements of the ground state levels made at the time.

A new method for quantification of bone regenerate on the basis of computer-aided analysis of digitized Xray images is presented and its applicability in bone lengthening using Ilizarov method is demonstrated. In contrary to classical methods the internal part of the bone image is taken into consideration instead of the bone edges. Theoretical background of this concept is presented and experimentally verified. Experimental results show that the method proposed allows us for assessment of the bone regenerate, precise choice of the moment of external fixator removal as well as prediction of abnormalities in the osteogenesis process (excluding overall decalcification). However, the rules of interpretation of the results are not discussed in details.

Current survey shows there are 1 out of 5 graduates are unemployed (Site, 2018). Lack of non technical skills among graduates be one of the main reason for unemployment.Data shows Problem Solving Skills is the second most important non technical skill sought by employers (To et al., 2019); The studies show that the problems cannot be solved by using the same kind of thinking approach applied at the moment it was created. Therefore, a systematic analytical skill is required to handle the engineering related problems happening at manufacturing environment or engineering workplace. The purpose of this paper is to analyze the existing literature about Problem Solving skills for graduate engineers through a systematic literature review. This paper analyses literature through electronic databases mainly from Scopus and Web of Science. This paper summarizes types of problem solving skills applied in the engineering field as of now. Based on that, engineers can differentiate and understand the approach of the problem solving skills in the industrial environment to improve the failures and increase productivity.
