BACKGROUND: Jaw bone benign tumors and dysplasia in childhood often have an aggressive growth pattern, which requires early radical operations. Uneven growth and changing morphological characteristics of the childs dentofacial apparatus imply stage-by-stage bone and plastic surgery in the maxillofacial region. CLINICAL CASE: The paper presents a clinical observation of the medical rehabilitation of a patient from 5 to 24 years old with lower jaw osteoblastoclastoma following our proposed algorithm. DISCUSSION: The presented clinical observation demonstrates all the main stages of medical rehabilitation of a child with a benign lower jaw neoplasm. Along with timely and fully operative neoplasm removal, rational dental prosthetics, and dispensary observation with X-ray diagnostics play an important role in the childs growth period. All these measures were important to prevent a possible neoplasm recurrence, partially maintain the masticatory function for the growth period, and avoid secondary postoperative dental apparatus deformities. The age of repeated surgery to replace the titanium structure with autosteal tissue depends on the individual characteristics of patients. The operation can be performed, in some cases, starting from age 1617 years. CONCLUSIONS: Successful treatment of children with benign neoplasms of the lower jaw after post-resection defects is a complex multi-stage process of medical rehabilitation, of which the completion, most often, passes into the adult period.

Cocoa pod growth modelling are useful in crop management, pest and disease management and yield forecasting. Recently, the Beta Growth Function has been used to determine the pod growth model due to its unique for the plant organ growth which is zero growth rate at both the start and end of a precisely defined growth period. Specific pod size (7cm to 10cm in length) is useful in cocoa pod borer (CPB) management for pod sleeving or pesticide spraying. The Beta Growth Function is well-fitted to the pods growth data of four different cocoa clones under non-linear function with time (t) as its independent variable which measured pod length and diameter weekly started at 8 weeks after fertilization occur until pods ripen. However, the same pod length among the clones did not indicate the same pod age since the morphological characteristics for cocoa pods vary among the clones. Depending on pod size for all the clones as guideline in CPB management did not give information on pod age, therefore it is important to study the pod age at specific pod sizes on different clones. Hence, Newton Raphson method is used to solve the non-linear equation of the Beta Growth Function of four different group of cocoa pod at specific pod size.

Abstract Aims Ecological strategies related to the adaptation of plants to environmental stress have long been studied by ecologists, but few studies have systematically revealed the ecological process of plant adaptation to herbivores as a whole. Methods In this study, Stipa breviflora, the dominant species in the desert steppe of Inner Mongolia, was used to analyse its reproductive individual characteristics and seed traits as well as the soil seed bank and spatial patterns under heavy-grazing and no-grazing treatments. Important Findings The results showed that the number of reproductive branches positively affected the number of vegetative branches. The analysis of the soil seed bank showed that the density of S. breviflora seeds beneath reproductive S. breviflora individuals was significantly higher than that in bare land. The seed density was also significantly negatively correlated with the seed characteristics and the soil seed bank in bare land. The spatial distribution of S. breviflora was aggregated under heavy grazing. Our results suggest that under heavy grazing, reproductive activity plays a key role in resource allocation. Stipa breviflora evolved the ecological strategy of nearby diffusion by regulating the morphological characteristics of the seeds, which promotes a positive spatial correlation between the juvenile and adult populations at a small scale, thus leading to the formation of ‘safe islands’.

Vehicle tire tread pattern is an important part of vehicle tire and also an important object concerned by the police workers who want to deduce or identify the suspected vehicle tire through the tire pattern impression left on the crime scene, which is routinely reflected by tire pattern impression on the surface tire rolled through. In this paper, the characteristics of vehicle tire pattern and its application in forensic science was analyzed and summarized in accordance with cases, based on the analysis of the process of production and using. The research indicated that the tire pattern not only has type characteristics corresponding to vehicle type, but also may have some new individual characteristics in the process of production and using in special condition. The morphological characteristics of tire pattern can be reflected more or less by the tire impression which left on road, clothes or body skin. With the development of trace extraction and enhancement technology, the morphological characteristics of tire pattern in tire impression will be used to deduce vehicle type or identify the suspected vehicle tire, which will play an important role in forensic evidence.

The childhood incidence of bronchial asthma is the most common chronic pathology in children. Due to the influence of many factors,as well as due to the widespread prevalence, the problem is becoming particularly relevant today. In recent years, a frequently usedconcept of medical rehabilitation is the so-called “multidisciplinary approach”, which also consists in the implementation of a personalizedapproach. Aim. To develop a comprehensive targeted program for the medical rehabilitation of children with bronchial asthma, to study the effectivenessof a comprehensive targeted program selected taking into account the individual characteristics of the child. Material and methods. There was developed an individual targeted program of medical rehabilitation was developed, in accordancewith the procedures and standards of medical care, taking into account indications and contraindications, taking into account a multidisciplinaryapproach, and rehabilitation methods, namely, such as: climatotherapy, physiotherapy, speleotherapy, aromatherapy, inhalation therapy, oxygen therapy, hypoxytherapy, mechanotherapy, psychocorrection, massage, physical therapy, phytotherapy. The patients were divided into three groups by randomization, without reference to the treatment method or any other factor. Allthree groups of patients received a basic program of medical rehabilitation, which included magnetotherapy, dry carbon dioxidebaths, speleotherapy and physical therapy. Results. Positive indicators of clinical and laboratory results and subjective data as a resultof rehabilitation were obtained in all patients from all 3 groups. In children with bronchial asthma of mixed genesis, as a result of complextreatment, a significant improvement was noted. These results allow us to speak about the significant effectiveness of individuallyselected targeted medical rehabilitation programs in patients with bronchial asthma. Conclusion. As a result of the analytical work carried out according to the results of the study, it can be concluded that the use of anindividual rehabilitation complex of procedures and therapeutic techniques in children’s patients with bronchial asthma is effective. The implementation of these methods in a complex improves the condition and well-being of patients according to a subjective feeling, and also allows us to reliably speak about the improvement of the condition according to clinical and diagnostic indicators. It ispossible to recommend the introduction of the use of these programs in the medical rehabilitation of this group of patients. Drawingup targeted programs for use in children’s patients with a history of bronchial asthma is an important link in medical rehabilitation,as it allows each patient to conduct an individually selected targeted rehabilitation program in the conditions of the department ofmedical rehabilitation for patients with somatic diseases.

Mandibular reconstruction after partial or complete resection is a prerequisite for restoring normal facial aesthetics, articulation and chewing function. We present a clinical case of lower jaw reconstruction in a female patient with acquired extensive bone defect while taking pervitin and desomorphine. Detailed descriptions of the stages of planning and performing surgery, manufacture of an individual endoprosthesis, as well as preoperative preparation of the patient are presented. Clinical and radiological data in the postoperative period were analyzed and an objective assessment of the effectiveness of the technique was given. Adequate restoration of the main functions of the lost organ was achieved thanks to the use of an individual titanium mandibular endoprosthesis with integrated dental implants and a full-arch denture.

The aim is to give a morphological characteristic of tumors and tumor-like lesions of the salivary glands in the course of a comprehensive analysis of the surgical material. Materials and methods: The study used surgical material from 67 patients with various pathologies of the salivary glands. The patients were treated at Kyiv City Clinical Hospital No. 12 (Ukraine, Kiev) from 2014 to 2018. The resulting material was fixed in a 10% solution of neutral formalin (pH 7.4) for 24-48 hours, carried out according to the generally accepted technique and embedded in paraffin. Serial sections 2 μm thick were made from paraffin blocks and stained with hematoxylin and eosin. Microspecimens were studied, using Olympus BX-41 microscope (Japan). Results: A comprehensive morphological study of the surgical material of patients with salivary gland pathology undergoing treatment at Kyiv City Clinical Hospital No. 12 (Ukraine, Kiev) for the period from 2014 to 2018 revealed benign tumors and tumor-like lesions of these glands. Pleomorphic adenomas and adenolymphomas represented benign tumors of the salivary glands, while cysts represented tumor-like lesions. Different ratios of parenchymal and stromal components characterized pleomorphic adenomas of the salivary glands. On this basis, we identified three tumor variants (mesenchymal (15 cases, 50.0 %); mixed or classic (10 cases, 33.3 %); epithelial (5 cases, 16.7 %)). A characteristic microscopic feature of salivary gland adenolymphomas was a pronounced predominance of the parenchyma over the stroma. A well-defined wall, represented by connective tissue fibers and epithelial lining, characterized the cysts of the salivary glands. The connective tissue capsule separating the tumor tissue from the intact tissue of the salivary gland was clearly pronounced in adenolymphomas, and in pleomorphic adenomas it could be clearly expressed, intact, with tumor invasion or absent. In mesenchymal and mixed variants of pleomorphic adenomas, in comparison with the epithelial variant, there was a frequent tumor invasion of the capsule, thinning of the capsule or its absence. Conclusions: Morphological examination of the surgical material allows us to diagnose tumors (pleomorphic adenomas and adenolymphomas) and non-tumor lesions (cysts) of the salivary glands. This, of course, is of great therapeutic, diagnostic and prognostic value. Among the identified pathology of the salivary glands, pleomorphic adenomas cause certain difficulties in morphological diagnosis due to their structural diversity and heterogeneity, sometimes requiring morphometric, immunohistochemical or genetic research.
