Abstract There always have been some hurdles when it comes to the adequate use of didactical experimental activities in science education, such as the lack of proper training, insufficient time, and inadequate infrastructure. At this very moment, the pandemic has taught us that there may be also circumstances in which the traditional laboratory and the traditional activities are just not possible, thus online operable experiments might constitute a viable alternative for the practical lessons in higher education. In this paper, we discuss the development and the implementation of a remote-controlled didactical experiment on Standing Waves largely used in the physics basic program offered to the engineering courses. The development has combined applied knowledge from different areas, i.e. electric and electronics engineering, and computer science. In order to ascertain the experiment consistency, we have gathered data from the wave propagation speed and from the corresponding tension applied to the string and performed a χ-square linear fit in order to determine the correlation between the logarithm of both parameters. The experiment was successfully implemented and has been accessed by hundreds of different users from more than 30 different countries ever since. It has also been largely employed in practical activities at the university and has shown no significant signs of instability. It exhibited a total latency time inferior to 0.8 seconds on average and the results drawn from data it provides have shown to be accurate, within less than 0.8% of deviation with respect to the theoretical results.

Abstract Background To tackle the long-standing opioid misuse problem, Myanmar introduced the methadone maintenance treatment (MMT) program in 2006, starting with 260 clients. Since then, the program has been expanded across different geographical sites in the country. This study was done in 2017 to explore the treatment satisfaction of the clients towards the MMT program. Method A total of 210 clients with a minimum of six-month treatment history enrolled in five MMT program sites across Myanmar were recruited through stratified random sampling. Administering the Verona Service Satisfaction Scale for Methadone-Treatment (VSSS-MT), this study assessed the satisfactory responses under three categories viz., 1) clinic staff professional skills; 2) basic drug intervention; 3) specific intervention (individual rehabilitation and psychotherapy). Results The majority (89%, n = 186) of the respondents were satisfied with the current MMT program. Specifically, 89.5% (n = 187) were satisfied with the clinic staff professional skills category, 91.9% (n = 192) with the basic program intervention and 74.6% (n = 156) with specific interventions. Among the respondents, treatment satisfaction with the MMT program was higher (p < 0.05) in those (i) with a higher quality of life score in physical, psychological, social and environmental categories, ii) who were satisfied with their current marital and leisure status, and those iii) who consumed alcohol. Results from stepwise binary logistic regression showed alcohol consumption and physical health status had a significant association with MMT treatment satisfaction. Conclusion Treatment satisfaction of the clients, in general is high. However, the lower percentage of satisfied clients (74.6%) for the specific interventions category compared with 89.5 and 91.9% respectively for staff and basic drug management categories highlights the need for improvement in this category for overall enhancement of the MMT program.

In this study, a multivariate regression model for predicting the 28days flexural strength of lime-cement concrete prototype beam was developed. The response function is a multivariate function of the proportions of the component materials of concrete. A total of twenty mix ratios, consisting of water, Portland cement, hydrated lime, river sand and granite chipping were used in the prediction process. The first ten mix ratios were used for model development while the remaining ten mix ratios were used as check points for model validation. The model developed was tested for adequacy at 95% level of confidence using the t-statistic. Calculated t-value was -1.3342 and this was less than the critical t-value of 2.2622. Thus, the model was found to be adequate. An average percentage difference of 14.303% was observed between the model prediction and the experimental values. A visual basic program using the Visual studio 2015 software was developed based on the regression model. It was invoked to quicken the process of selecting the mix ratios of the component materials corresponding to any desired flexural strength value that falls within the region of experimentation and vice versa Keywords— Concrete , flexural strength, multivariate regression model, response function.

Abstract Jakarta is one of the cities in Indonesia that has a very high level of traffic jams. So it takes several alternative transportation so that congestion can be reduced. DKI Jakarta Provincial Government provides a solution by creating several mass transportation facilities including Mass Rapid Transit (MRT), Light Rail Transit (LRT), Soekarno-Hatta Airport trains, TransJakarta buses, and the Jabodetabek Commuterline. In order to make it easier for transportation users to use it, a connecting facility is needed so that it makes it easier for users to choose the mode of transportation. The research entitled Connecting Facilities of several modes of transportation with Transit Oriented Development Approach used qualitative descriptive method by collecting data from journal article, observation to research location, interviews with users. After the data has been collected, analysis is carried out in order to obtain a complete picture of characteristics and conditions that exist, so that a basic program for planning and architectural design of the Dukuh Atas Interchange Station building can be compiled. This research produces a design of connecting facility that integrates between modes to move users from one mode of transportation to another without leaving the station so that it is more effective and efficient.

The childhood incidence of bronchial asthma is the most common chronic pathology in children. Due to the influence of many factors,as well as due to the widespread prevalence, the problem is becoming particularly relevant today. In recent years, a frequently usedconcept of medical rehabilitation is the so-called “multidisciplinary approach”, which also consists in the implementation of a personalizedapproach. Aim. To develop a comprehensive targeted program for the medical rehabilitation of children with bronchial asthma, to study the effectivenessof a comprehensive targeted program selected taking into account the individual characteristics of the child. Material and methods. There was developed an individual targeted program of medical rehabilitation was developed, in accordancewith the procedures and standards of medical care, taking into account indications and contraindications, taking into account a multidisciplinaryapproach, and rehabilitation methods, namely, such as: climatotherapy, physiotherapy, speleotherapy, aromatherapy, inhalation therapy, oxygen therapy, hypoxytherapy, mechanotherapy, psychocorrection, massage, physical therapy, phytotherapy. The patients were divided into three groups by randomization, without reference to the treatment method or any other factor. Allthree groups of patients received a basic program of medical rehabilitation, which included magnetotherapy, dry carbon dioxidebaths, speleotherapy and physical therapy. Results. Positive indicators of clinical and laboratory results and subjective data as a resultof rehabilitation were obtained in all patients from all 3 groups. In children with bronchial asthma of mixed genesis, as a result of complextreatment, a significant improvement was noted. These results allow us to speak about the significant effectiveness of individuallyselected targeted medical rehabilitation programs in patients with bronchial asthma. Conclusion. As a result of the analytical work carried out according to the results of the study, it can be concluded that the use of anindividual rehabilitation complex of procedures and therapeutic techniques in children’s patients with bronchial asthma is effective. The implementation of these methods in a complex improves the condition and well-being of patients according to a subjective feeling, and also allows us to reliably speak about the improvement of the condition according to clinical and diagnostic indicators. It ispossible to recommend the introduction of the use of these programs in the medical rehabilitation of this group of patients. Drawingup targeted programs for use in children’s patients with a history of bronchial asthma is an important link in medical rehabilitation,as it allows each patient to conduct an individually selected targeted rehabilitation program in the conditions of the department ofmedical rehabilitation for patients with somatic diseases.

The author of this work point to the fact that humanitarian organizations are the part of non-profit sector which are established and work in order to achieve general welfare of the individuals, particular social groups or society in whole. What is important to emphasize is that they belong to so called, voluntary sector whose work is transparent and is based on the laws of the country in which they operate. Each humanitarian organization has its own strategic plan, which as a written document, is aimed at achieving basic program goals. The monitoring of the implementation of adopted projects and the control of the management process are the mandatory (final) phases of their work. Humanitarian organizations as the part of non-state sector today play increasing role in offering services in various fields of social life to a wide range of beneficiaries. 0 It is interesting to note that these organizations are more present in developing countries and the countries in transition, particularly in the field of social services. The grounds for this situation can be found in the decentralization process and new, modified apprehension of the role of the state in the work of the growing number humanitarian organizations and movements. Namely, decentralization allows the delegation of powers and tasks from the central to local government levels and this is the main reason for rapid expansion of non-government sector on the global level and increasing participation of non-government sector in service providing.

The approach to calculating evaporation and evapotranspiration, both potential and actual, varies widely. The models used to estimate the amount of evapotranspiration, particularly at the Maros Climatology Station, Maros Regency, South Sulawesi. Evaporation models use the Penman, Priestley, Bruin, and Valiantzas models while evapotranspiration models use the Penman, Hargreaves, Jensen-Haise, Penman-Monteith, Radiation, Turc, and Makkink models, where all of these methods use climate data, such as are the minimum temperature (Tn), maximum temperature (Tx), air temperature (Ta), average humidity (RH), rainfall (R), duration of sun exposure (SS), and maximum wind speed (U) in calculations using Visual basic program in Microsoft Excel in the form of code. Thus, it is necessary to conduct an analysis of the suitability of the model to the results of the observations in order to find out which model is suitable according to the results of the largest coefficient of determination (R2). Based on the results of the model suitability analysis, a selected model was obtained, namely the Valiantzas model with a value of 0.980 in the evaporation calculation and the Jensen-Haise model, namely 0.889.

Due to the last increase in data and information technology, the need to use robots in many life areas is increased. There is a great diversity in this field, depending on the type of task required, as the robot enters the parcels of air, land, and water. In this paper, a robot's mission designed to move things is concentrated, relying on line-tracing technology that makes it easy to track its path safely, the RFID is distributed in its approach. When the robot reads the RFID tag, it stops until it raises the load from above, the robot continues its path toward the target. When an obstacle obstructs the robot path, the robot deviates and returns after a while to its previous approach. All this technology is implemented using a new algorithm which is programmed using the visual basic program. The robot designed to transfer the stored material is used according to a site known as an identifier that is identified by the RFID value, where the robot is programmed through a microcontroller and a unique store program that determines the current location and the desired location, then is given the task for the robot to do it as required. The robot is controlled using an ATmega controller to control other parts connected to the electronic circuit, the particular infrared sensor, and ultrasound to avoid potential obstacles within the robot's path to reach the target safely. In addition to this, the robot is made up of an RFID sensor to give unique to each desired target site. Through the console, it is possible to know the link indicated by the target. The H-bridge is also used to obtain a particular command and guide the robot as needed to move freely in all directions and a DC motor which is unique for moving wheels at the desired speed, and Bluetooth for programmable and secure wireless transmission and reception with all these parts through a unique program that also uses application inventory. The robot has proven to be a great success in performing the required task through several tests that have been practically performed.

Soil heavy metal contamination has become a major concern in many parts of the world. Grasping the spatial distribution patterns of heavy metals and evaluating soil heavy metal contamination are of great significance to policy makers for land use planning and pollution identification. However, these processes usually involve repetitive calculation and plotting, which are time-consuming and laborious, especially in a geochemical survey. In this paper, HMCA-Contour, which is a program written in Visual Basic based on Surfer 13.0, has been designed to simplify the pollution indices recalculation and plotting routines. This software is comprised of three functions, i.e., data processing, plotting, and template setting. With user-friendly interfaces, the user can easily and efficiently calculate pollution indices and generate batch publication-quality maps of heavy metal spatial distribution and pollution levels. To demonstrate the advantage of HMCA-Contour, a case study from the Gaerqin Mine area is used in this paper. HMCA-Contour, as a brand new software, is promising and will become a useful tool for environmental management.
