In the following paper the author tries to find a possibility to use larvae of caddis flies of Integripalpia suborder to increase a significance of bioindicator researches during environmental monitoring of the South Ural rivers. Analysis of caddis flies types constancy was carried out in 17 state water posts on the rivers flowing across the territory of South Ural from 2005 to 2016. As chemical characteristics such indexes as content in river waters of compounds of manganese, nickel and iron, oil products, phenols, ammonium nitrogen, coppers, zinc, COD, BOD5, sulfates, chlorides, nitrite nitrogen were used. Specific combinatorial index of water impurity was used as a complex index. In total constancy evolution of 7 species of larvae of caddis flies of Integripalpia suborder was analyzed. Its the first time the author has made a list of constant, additive and casual types of Integripalpia on the studied territory. The author has revealed significant correlative dependences between constancy of larvae of species of caddis flies with a number of hydro chemical indexes. The author has made regression models used to forecast constancy of larvae of Integripalpia suborder types depending on concentration of the pollutant containing in river waters.

The paper contains the analysis of a possibility to use green drakes larvae of Ephemeroptera group for bioindicator researches during environmental monitoring of the South Ural rivers. Collection and analysis of types constancy of green drakes larvae was carried out in 2005 to 2016 in 17 state water posts on the territory of the South Ural rivers. As chemical characteristics the author used the index of content of compounds of manganese, nickel and iron, oil products, phenols, nitrogen ammonium, coppers, zinc, chemical oxygen consumption (COC), biological oxygen consumption in 5 days (BOC5), sulfates, chlorides, nitrite nitrogen in river waters. In total constancy dynamics of 13 species larvae of mayflies was analyzed. The author has made a list of constant, additive and casual types of representatives of Ephemeroptera group. Significant correlative dependences between constancy of larvae of species of mayflies with a number of hydrochemical indexes are revealed statistically. The paper contains regression models for the constancy forecast of larvae of green drakes depending on concentration of the pollutant.

Information on the Sphagnum mosses of the South Ossetia is generalized, the resulted list is presented. Nine species of Sphagnum are included in the list, whereabouts data and references to the publications are given, and the presence of a sample in the Herbarium of the Komarov Botanical Institute RAS (LE) is noted. The species Sphagnum platyphyllum (Lindb. ex Braithw.) Warnst. rarely occurring in the Caucasus is reported in the South Ossetia for the first time. The species was found in the Caucasus, South Ossetia, at the side of the Ertso Lake (42°28ʹN, 43°45ʹE), 1720 m a. s. l., among sedge thickets at the margin of the overgrowing lake. The peculiarities of its occurrence and ecological conditions are considered. Its distribution in the Caucasus and in the world is discussed.

49 lichen species and 2 species of non-lichenized saprotrophic fungi are recorded for the first time in beech forests of the south-eastern part of piedmont Dagestan. Among them, 34 species and 9 genera are new to Dagestan Republic, and 2 species, Diplotomma pharcidium (Ach.) M. Choisy and Rinodina albana (A. Massal.) A. Massal., are new to Caucasus Mountains.

Mexican species of three pimpline genera, Apechthis Förster (one  species), Itoplectis Förster (six species) and Pimpla Fabricius (20 species, including one unidentified taxon), are reviewed. Four species of Pimpla are described as new to science: P. chamela sp. nov., P. oaxacana sp. nov., P. tequila sp. nov. and P. xalapana sp. nov. Pimpla thoracica Morley, 1914 is found to be a junior synonym of P. ellopiae Harrington, 1892 (syn. nov.). Apechthis zapoteca (Cresson) is recorded for the first time from Venezuela, Pimpla dimidiata (Townes) from Mexico, P. caeruleata Cresson, P. croceiventris (Cresson), P. sanguinipes Cresson and P. sumichrasti Cresson from Honduras, P. ichneumoniformis Cresson and P. viridescens Morley from Guatemala and Honduras, and P. punicipes Cresson from Panama. The South American species Pimpla caerulea Brullé and the Nearctic species P. pedalis Cresson are excluded from the Mexican fauna. Male of Itoplectis mexicana and female of Pimpla dimidiata are recorded for the first time. Identification keys to the species of Itoplectis and Pimpla occurring in Mexico are provided.

In December 1974, Ian Smith, the leader of the white minority regime in Rhodesia, announced for the first time since declaring his country’s independence from Britain in 1965 that his government was willing to begin direct negotiations with the African liberation movements seeking to achieve majority rule in Rhodesia. The prospect of such talks leading to an end to guerrilla fighting in Rhodesia and a termination of the United Nations authorized sanctions against the illegal Smith regime is dimmed by the fact that the Africans demand African rule for Rhodesia in the near future if not immediately, while Smith and his supporters have refused to consider such a development “in his lifetime.” Still the announcement constituted a step forward which few informed observers would have deemed likely even a few weeks before.

Abstract The purpose of the investigation was to obtain the predictive regression models that help correct the calculation of the mechanical properties of single crystal nickel-based superalloys without conducting prior experiments. The paper considers the influence of alloying elements on their tendency to form phases in foundry nickel-based superalloys. Using the elements influence on the phase formation, the coefficient Kc’ of the ratio of alloying elements for this class of alloys was set for the first time. We have revealed the short correlation of the ratio Kc’ with the dimensional misfit of γ and γ’ crystal lattices. Also, a high probability to predict the misfit for multicomponent nickel systems is shown, which significantly affected the strength properties. The regression models of correlation dependencies on the dimensional γ/γ’- misfit were offered to predict the short-term and long-term limits of the strength of alloys. We determined the operating temperature at which the misfit value should decrease to zero. The structure stability should increase because of the structural stresses minimizing. This has a positive effect on strength and plastic properties.

This paper presents the results of the study of lichen flora in swamp complexes of Sakhalin Island, obtained during expeditionary research in 2005–2009 and 2014–2020. The revealed species composition of lichens includes 172 species. The 28 of them are new for Sakhalin and 93 are new for the island swamp complexes. Bryocaulon pseudosatoanum is included in the regional and federal Red lists. Lecidea nylanderi is new to the south of the Far East. The information about substrates, habitats and locations is given for all species. The data on the distribution in the south of the Far East and, in some cases for all Far East, are listed for selected species that are new for Sakhalin Island and the south of the Far East. For the first time, a characteristic of the distribution of lichens in oligotrophic, eutrophic and mesotrophic bogs of Sakhalin Island is given.
