<p class="Abstrak"><strong>Abstract:</strong> The trend of 21st century education is learning based on scientific literacy. Scientific literacy is a key for improving science education in many countries in the world. This article aims to give a profile of the scientific literacy of senior high school students of class XII in the year 2019 in optic subject. This research was conducted with Survey methods. The data is done by providing scientific literacy problem in the form of essays. The subjects of research is the students of class XII at two SMAN Kerinci Regency. Results of this research is scientific literacy of students still low. So that Indonesia can afford prices in the era of the 21st century education, thope that this research can help in determining the solution for improve the ability of students ' scientific literacy.</p><strong>Abstrak:</strong> Tren pendidikan abad-21 adalah pembelajaran yang berpatokan pada Literasi Saintifik yang dijadikan sebagai kunci utama dalam meningkatkan pendidikan sains di banyak Negara di dunia. Artikel ini bertujuan untuk memberikan gambaran tentang kemampuan Literasi Saintifik siswa SMA kelas XII pada tahun 2019 terhadap materi Optik. Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan metode survei. Teknik pengambilan data dilakukan dengan memberikan soal literasi saintifik yang berbentuk esai. Subjek penelitian adalah siswa-siswa kelas XII di dua SMAN yang ada di kabupaten Kerinci. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa literasi saintifik siswa masih rendah. Agar Indonesia mampu bersaing di era pendidikan abad-21, diharapkan penelitian ini dapat memberikan solusi dalam meningkatkan kemampuan literasi saintifik siswa.

Regarding 21st-century learning, scientific literacy is an important competency which must be owned by students. Nevertheless, scientific literacy of Indonesian students has been recognized in low level. This study aimed to describe students’ scientific literacy in Bryophyta topic using problem-based learning. This Classroom Action Research (CAR) used the Kemis & Mc.Taggart research design. This study involved 30 students of X graders in Kristen Satya Wacana Senior High School. Students' scientific literacy was measured using a test which comprised of 15 MCQs and 5 essay questions. The data obtained was analyzed using N-gain score. The results indicated that students' scientific literacy was improved from cycle 1 (45.20) to cycle 2 (65.59) as they learnt about Bryophyta. The use of PBL in learning Bryophyta accommodates students' activities to promote their scientific literacy. Scientific activities in PBL strongly support the development of students' scientific literacy.

Abstract In physics learning, students need to know the extent to which scientific concepts have been studied. Scientific literacy is the ability to make decisions based on scientific considerations, solve problems and apply the knowledge gained in everyday life. This study aims to scientifically analyse the scientific literacy ability of senior high school students on the kinetic theory of gases. The sample of this research is 90 high school students. Data analysis used descriptive qualitative. The results study show that high school students’ ability was very low, many students did not have scientific literacy ability on physics learning. The implications of this study can be used as empirical evidence that the scientific literacy of senior high school students on physics learning still needs to be improved.

This study aims to: 1) develop animation media-based Discovery Learning on the circulatory system material, 2) determine the feasibility of the media-based Discovery Learning on the circulatory system material, and 3) examine the effectiveness of the media in increasing the dimensions of scientific literacy on content dimension in class XI IPA SMA. This type of research is research and development using the ADDIE model as steps for product development. The test instrument is used to measure the content dimension of scientific literacy content. The subjects of this study were high school students of class XI Science with a total of 30 students at Yasiha Gubug by taking purposive sampling. The media is validated by the validator of media experts, material experts, and  Biology teachers as a user. The results of media expert' validation concluded that media was valid with a score of 83.19% and material expert judgment obtained a score of 82.77% included a valid category. Test the effectiveness of the product using paired sample t-test with the acquisition of 0,000 <0.05 means that the animation media-based Discovery Learning is significant to the content dimension of scientific literacy. Based on the N-gain test, animation media-based Discovery Learning can also increase the content dimension of scientific literacy of score 52% with enough categories.
