The object of research in this work were chosen two 4-shift filter on 2 resonator ceramic monoblocks, made by hot casting technology of ALTC ceramics. The main purpose of the work was determination of influence of additional grinding time on electrical parameters of BPF. The main criteria were chosen: further improvement of the squared-off ratio of BPF. Further work on the effect of density increase on electrical parameters of band-pass filter at the process stage of mass grinding is described. Results of sharper transition from bandwidth to suppression band and decrease of BPF rectangle coefficient are obtained. A version of further improvement of the technology of making ceramic housings for two-resonator monoblocks is proposed.

In this paper, a novel approach for designing the parallel coupled microstrip bandpass filter operating at C-band frequency is numerically analyzed iteratively and simulated. The physical dimensions are being finalized using standard odd- even impedance method. Various electrical parameters such as insertion loss, reflection loss are being analyzed and practical results are being compared and found same as the predicted results. The proposed design is fabricated on FR4 dielectric substrate and the experimental result shows the scientifically acceptable for C-band Applications.

This paper presents a novel method to measure clamping force by using the vibration of bolts. The resonance frequency of the bolt increases in line with the clamping force during the tightening process. These characteristics were measured and utilized in the k-means clustering algorithm. Bolt specimens were fastened to the load cell using a nutrunner for verification of the proposed method. The precisely measured clamping force was labeled. The labeled data was used to predict the clamping force from the vibration responses. To use the proposed method in assembly of actual parts, an accelerometer was attached to the nutrunner for vibration measurements. This enabled continuous monitoring of the clamping force without influence on the parts. The estimated clamping force was compared with those from the torque method. When the vibration of a bolt was transmitted through the nutrunner, loss of high-frequency vibration energy occurred. The resonant frequency band vibrations of the bolt were preserved to determine the fastening force. The components in the low frequency band were excluded using a band-pass filter. The clamping force of the bolt used in the vehicle’s lower arm and the link was also evaluated precisely. By using the proposed method, it is possible to continuously monitor variations of the clamping force during the manufacturing process.

The 2003 Tokachi-oki earthquake (MJ 8.0) occurred off the southeastern coast of Tokachi, Japan, and generated a large tsunami which arrived at Tokachi Harbor at 04:56 with a wave height of 4.3 m. Japan Marine Science and Technology Center (JAMSTEC) recovered records of water pressure and sea-bed acceleration at the bottom of the tsunami source region. These records are first introduced with some findings from Fourier analysis and band-pass filter analysis. Water pressure disturbance lasted for over 30 minutes and the duration was longer than those of accelerations. Predominant periods of the pressure looked like those excited by Rayleigh waves. Next, numerical simulation was conducted using the dynamic tsunami simulation technique able to represent generation and propagation of Rayleigh wave and tsunami, with a satisfactory result showing validity and usefulness of this technique. Keywords: Earthquake, Rayleigh wave, tsunami, near-field
