Effective science teaching methods can increase the learning process of learners. It facilitates both teachers and learners in creating an environment of learning. Therefore, the researchers tried to find the effect of a cooperative learning approach on student's achievement in the subject of chemistry.  The main objectives of the study were: a) to study the difference between cooperative learning and traditional methodologies in terms of achievement in chemistry teaching at grade-IX and b) to analyze the difference between both methodologies in terms of achievement while comparing students of diverse intelligence of both groups. To accomplish these targets null hypotheses were tested. The nature of this study was experimental (Pre-test, Post-test equivalent group design). Forty-Two students were selected as a sample from Government Boys High School No 1 Nowshera Kalan on basis of pre-test score. Then two equal groups were formed i.e. experimental and control having an equal number of students 21 each. Both groups were taught the same three lessons, selected from of 9th-grade chemistry book (Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Text-Book board). The Control group was taught these three selected lessons through the traditional method of science teaching. On the other hand, some chapters were taught to the experimental group through Slavin's student's team achievement division (STAD). This treatment lasts for six weeks and in the end, a teacher-made post-test was administered to both groups. The collected data were analyzed by applying an independent sample t-test. It was concluded from the analysis of data that chemistry learning through STAD was more effective than the traditional method of science. The same was also noticed for low achievers and high achievers of both groups. Based on the conclusion, it is recommended that science teachers should implement this method in their classrooms. Furthermore, curriculum developers should design such a curriculum which will be in favor of teaching this method.

The cooperative learning method is a learning method that is said to be efficient and in line with the transformation of the education system nowadays. This method is a student-centered learning method that emphasizing social interaction and collaboration between students in order to achieve the learning outcomes. From the preliminary observations, it was found that the level of student achievement in the Mathematical Computing course at Muadzam Shah Polytechnic is quite alarming with the failure percentage up to 36.75%. Therefore, as a teaching and learning strategy to overcome this problem, cooperative learning methods are implemented on students who repeat the Mathematical Computing courses. This study aims to examine the effectiveness of cooperative learning methods on student achievement in this course. This study uses a quasi-experimental method consisting of two groups of respondents: each consisting of 20 students from the control group and the experimental group. A pre-test was given to test student achievement before treatment and a post-test were given to test the effectiveness of the treatment given. The analysis was made based on the percentage of student achievement for the experimental group and the control group. The findings of the study show that cooperative learning methods have been successful in improving student achievement in the course. This shows that cooperative learning methods in teaching and learning are effective and suitable to be used as an approach in the teaching and learning process of Mathematical Computing courses.

The success of the flipped learning approach is directly related to the preparation process through the online learning environment. It is clear that the desired level of academic achievement cannot be reached if the students come to class without completing their assignments. In this study, we investigated the effect of the use of gamification in the online environment of flipped learning to determine whether it will increase interaction data, participation, and achievement. We used a mixed-methods sequential explanatory design, which implies collecting and analyzing quantitative and then qualitative data. In the online learning environment of the experimental group, we used the gamification. However, participants in the control group could not access the game components. According to the findings, the experimental group had higher scores in terms of interaction data, participation, and achievement compared with the control group. Students with low participation can be encouraged to do online activities with gamification techniques.

AbstractThis quasi-experimental study investigated the effect of teaching aesthetic skills to faculty members on development of their effective teaching performance through a two-group pretest-posttest design. The sample included 32 faculty members at a major Iranian university who were divided into the experimental (11 participants) and control groups (21 participants). The experimental group was taught to use aesthetic skills in the teaching and learning processes; however, no intervention was applied to the control group. To evaluate the effective teaching performance of the faculty members, a tailor-made questionnaire was used in two pretest and posttest stages, where randomly chosen students were asked to express their opinions about the faculty membersí performance. The sample size of the students was 1096 in the pretest stage and 935 in the posttest stage. Paired t-test results showed that there was no significant difference between the mean effective teaching scores of the faculty members in the control group in the pretest stage and in the posttest stage. However, the mean effective teaching scores of the faculty members in the experimental group were found to be significantly higher in the posttest. In addition, although there was no significant difference between the mean effective teaching scores of the two faculty groups in the pretest, faculty members in the experimental group outperformed their counterparts in the control group. Based on the findings, applying aesthetic skills by faculty members in the teaching and learning processes can pave the way for sustainable development of their effective teaching performance. Therefore, faculty members are recommended to acquire the required knowledge and skills to better use aesthetic skills in the teaching process.
