ABSTRACTThe purpose of this study was to determine student achievement in the manufacturing process subject before giving treatment, to determine student achievement in the manufacturing process course after treatment, to determine whether there was an effect of the inquiry method on student achievement in the manufacturing process course and to find out whether there is a difference in learning achievement after treatment on the use of the inquiry method and the demonstration method. The type of research conducted by the researcher is Quasi Experiment. The research design used is Non Equivalent Control Group Design. The subjects of this study were third semester students (Industrial Engineering) at the Cikarang Industrial META Polytechnic. Data collection techniques were carried out through objective tests, observations of the welding process and assessment of welding results with performance. The results showed that the learning achievement of electric arc welding subjects before being given treatment in the control group and the experimental group had the same initial ability and the data results showed that there were still many students who had not finished. Learning achievement after being given treatment increased in both the control group and the experimental group. After learning with the inquiry method there is an influence on student learning achievement. Besides the effect, there are also differences in learning achievement after being given treatment, namely by comparing the results of the pretest and post-test, after the application of the demonstration method the test results have a significant percentage difference. Keywords: Inquiry Method, Learning Achievement, Electric Arc Welding  ABSTRAKTujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui prestasi belajar mahasiswa pada mata kuliah proses manufaktur sebelum pemberian perlakuan, mengetahui prestasi belajar mahasiswa pada mata kuliah proses manufaktur setelah pemberian perlakuan, mengetahui ada tidaknya pengaruh metode inquiry terhadap prestasi belajar mahasiswa pada mata mata kulaih proses manufaktur dan mengetahui ada tidaknya perbedaan prestasi belajar setelah perlakuan pada penggunaan metode inquiry dan metode demonstrasi. Jenis penelitian yang dilakukan oleh peneliti adalah Quasi Eksperimen. Desain penelitian yang digunakan adalah Non Equivalent Control Group Design. Subjek penelitian ini adalah mahasiswa semester III (Teknik Industri) di Politeknik META Industri Cikarang. Teknik pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui tes objektif, observasi terhadap proses pengelasan dan penilaian hasil las dengan unjuk kerja. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa prestasi belajar mata pelajaran las busur listrik sebelum diberikan perlakuan pada kelompok kontrol dan kelompok eksperimen memiliki kemampuan awal yang setara dan hasil data menunjukkan masih banyak mahasiswa yang belum tuntas. Prestasi belajar setelah diberikan perlakuan mengalami kenaikan baik pada kelompok kontrol maupun kelompok eksperimen. Setelah pembelajaran dengan metode inquiry terdapat pengaruh pada prestasi belajar mahasiswa. Selain pengaruh terdapat juga perbedaan prestasi belajar setelah diberikan perlakuan yaitu dengan membandingkan hasil pretest dan post-test, setelah penerapan metode demonstrasi hasil tes memiliki persentase perbedaan yang cukup berarti .Kata kunci: Metode Inquiry, Prestasi Belajar, Las Busur Listrik

This study aims to improve the quality of learning Islamic Religious Education and Morals. Learning Islamic Religious Education and Morals with the application of the STAD Cooperative Learning method is expected to improve student achievement as well as interest in learning subjects of Islamic Religious Education and Character Education.This research is a classroom action research conducted in 2 cycles. The subjects of this study were third grade students of SDN Singasari with a total of 28 students. The results showed that efforts to improve the quality of learning PAI dan Budi Pekerti were successfull and interest in learning PAI and carácter was Good. The quality of learning can be seen in the changes in learning activities in the classroom. In cycle 1, the discusión activities were dominated by Smart students. In cycle 2, it appears that the students’ courage to ask questions and express their opinions is very large. In cycle 1, none of them received group awards, but in cycle 2 all groups received high award ( Super team ). The increase in learning achievement is indicated by the activeness of students, also indicated by classical learning mastery which rose from 7.14% to 85.20%, while the average student achievement rose from 64.67 in the first cycle to 82.37 in the second cycle.  ABSTRAKPenelitian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan mutu pembelajaran Pendidikan Agama Islam dan Budi Pekerti. Pembelajaran Pendidikan Agama Islam dan Budi Pekerti dengan penerapan metode Cooperative Learning model STAD diharapkan dapat meningkatkan prestasi belajar siswa sekaligus minat belajar mata pelajaran Pendidikan Agama Islam dan Budi Pekerti. Penelitian ini adalah penelitian tindakan kelas yang dilaksanakan 2 siklus. Subyek dari penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas III SDN Singasari dengan jumlah siswa 28 anak. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa upaya untuk meningkatkan mutu belajar PAI dan Budi Pekerti berhasil dengan baik dan minat belajar PAI dan budi Pekerti. Mutu pembelajaran terlihat pada perubahan kegiatan pembelajaran di kelas.Pada siklus 1 kegiatan diskusi ternyata di dominasi oleh siswa yang pandai. Pada siklus 2, tampak keberanian siswa untuk bertanya dan menyampaikan pendapatnya sangat besar.Pada siklus 1 tidak ada satupun yang mendapat penghargaan kelompok, tetapi pada siklus 2 semua kelompok mendapat penghargaan yang tinggi (Super team). Peningkatan prestasi belajar ditunjukkan dengan keaktifan siswa, juga ditunjukkan dengan ketuntasan belajar secara klasikal naik dari 7,14% menjadi 85,20%, sedangkan rata-rata prestasi belajar siswa naik dari 64,67 pada siklus I menjadi 82,37 pada siklus 2

The purpose of this study was to determine the impact and implementation of the jigsaw method in learning science (Physics) subjects to improve student achievement in class IX of SMP Negeri 10 Malang, Malang City. The method used in this research is classroom action research (CAR). While the data collection techniques used were observation, interviews, documentation and descriptive data analysis. This research was conducted in 3 cycles, namely cycle I, cycle II and cycle III. The research subjects were 34 grade IX students of SMP Negeri 10 Malang in the 2016/2017 academic year. After doing research in class IX SMP Negeri 10 Malang, student learning outcomes using the jigsaw model learning method, can improve student achievement in class IX SMP Negeri 10 Malang. As proof that, from 34 students who carried out learning activities, it was found that the scores of 80, 90 and 100 had increased. Those who scored 80/good enough, in the first cycle: 8 (23.53%) students in the second cycle: 9 (26.47%) students in the third cycle: 13 (38.24%) students. Those who scored 90/good in the first cycle: 1 (2.94%) students in the second cycle: 5 (14.71%) students in the third cycle: 10 (29.41%) students. Those who scored 100/excellent in the first cycle: 0 (0%) students in the second cycle: 0 (0%) students in the third cycle: 1 (2,94%) students. Thus, the jigsaw method of learning can improve the learning outcomes of class IX students in the even semester of 2016/2017 academic year. ABSTRAKTujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui dampak dan implementasi metode jigsaw dalam belajar mata pelajaran IPA ( Fisika ) dapat meningkatkan prestasi belajar siswa kelas IX SMP Negeri 10 Malang Kota Malang . Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode penelitian tindakan kelas (PTK). Sedangkan teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan adalah observasi, wawancara, dokumentasi dan analisis data secara deskriptif. Penelitian ini dilakukan dalam 3 siklus yakni siklus I siklus II dan siklus III. Subjek penelitian adalah 34 orang siswa kelas IX SMP Negeri 10 Malang Tahun Pelajaran 2016/2017. Setelah dilakukan penelitian di kelas IX SMP Negeri 10 Malang, hasil belajar siswa dengan menggunakan metode pembelajaran Model jigsaw, dapat meningkatkan prestasi belajar Siswa Kelas IX SMP Negeri 10 Malang. Sebagai buktinya bahwa, dari 34 siswa yang melakukan kegiatan belajar didapatkan pada perolehan nilai 80 , 90 dan 100 mengalami peningkatan. Yang memperoleh nilai 80/cukup baik, pada siklus I : 8 (23,53%) siswa pada siklus II : 9 (26,47%) siswa pada siklus III : 13 (38,24%) siswa. Yang memperoleh nilai 90/baik pada siklus I : 1 (2,94%) siswa pada siklus II : 5 (14,71%) siswa pada siklus III : 10 (29,41%) siswa. Yang memperoleh nilai 100/sangat baik pada siklus I : 0 (0%) siswa pada siklus II : 0 (0%) siswa pada siklus III : 1 (2,94%) siswa. Dengan demikian, metode pembelajaran dengan metode jigsaw dapat meningkatkan hasil belajar siswa kelas IX semester genap tahun pelajaran 2016/2017.

The purposes of this study are 1) to determine the effect of e-learning learning strategies on the achievement of SKI subjects; 2) to determine the effect of learning motivation on the achievement of SKI subjects; 3) to determine the effect of e-learning based learning strategies and learning motivation on the achievement of SKI subjects. The study used a quantitative approach with a population of 78 students. Data were taken through a questionnaire with validity and reliability tests. Multiple regression techniques analyzed the research data. The research object is MA NU Gesi Sragen students academic year 2020/2021. The results showed that e-learning-based learning strategies and learning motivation positively influenced student achievement in SKI subjects for MA NU Gesi Sragen students in the academic year 2020/2021.

Some believe that holding schools accountable for student attendance will lead schools to act to reduce student absences and by doing so will increase student achievement, particularly for historically underserved students. We question both the premise that reducing absence will lead to substantial improvements in student achievement and fairness of holding school accountable for increasing attendance. Using two cohorts of nationally-representative data on kindergarteners, we find that factors unrelated to missed instruction account for at least 77 percent of the association between attendance and test score achievement among US children with twenty or more absences. We argue the attendance crisis conceals more troubling crises that will produce inequalities even if every child attends school every day, and that schools are ill-suited to address all the underlying causes of student absence. Absence is a symptom of the myriad challenges students and their families face—challenges that need to be addressed at a larger systemic level.

African American transient housing dwellers are the studied population in this chapter. A noted section addresses transient students, also referred to as highly mobile students, which are a group that can benefit from additional educational support at school and also in the community. As communities of people are drawn together in faith and love, churches are distinctively positioned to fill in the gap for kids and their communities. By entering into a supportive partnership with a school, they can make the kind of difference that transforms a community. According to Fulgham, every school in low-income communities has a plethora of needs, and churches likely feel compelled to meet each of them. Fulgham went on to encourage churches to prioritize their support for programs and activities that help increase student achievement. This chapter provides findings from interviews conducted with adult transient housing dwellers and suggests methods to reach transient African American students during challenging times, specifically addressing their educational needs.

Our nation is experiencing a “student achievement crisis” in literacy. Some of the blame for the current crisis in literacy education has been laid at the feet of teacher education programs and their professors. Many pundits of teacher education and literacy education suggest that the solution to increasing reading achievement is simple: Emphasize and teach science of reading (SOR) principles in teacher education programs. In theory, this approach is reasonable; however, the purpose of this chapter is to examine some of the challenges in making the complex content of the SOR accessible to preservice teachers. The authors will also offer possible solutions to help make the SOR more comprehensible so that preservice teachers can increase their transfer of technical and pedagogical knowledge to authentic classroom contexts.
