A research experiment was conducted during kharif season of 2015 and 2016 at College of Agriculture farm, Gwalior (M.P.) under AICRP on Arid Legumes. On the basis of results obtained the application of zinc @ 5 kg and boron @ 1 kg/ha with RDF gave significantly higher seed yield (2225 kg/ha) and net return (91,473/ha) as compared to other treatments. But higher B:C ratio (5.28) was recorded in crop residue retention @ 3 t/ha with RDF.

A research experiment was conducted during kharif season of 2017 at College of Agriculture, farm Gwalior (M.P.) under AICRP on Arid Legumes. On the basis of results obtained the variety X-10 gave significantly highest seed yield (2731 kg/ha), net monetary return (‘ 1,25,083/ha), BCR (7.74) and harvest index (27.83%) as compared to other varieties but at par with HG-563, RGC-1033 and HG 2-20 varieties. But the variety RGC-1066 gave significantly lowest seed yield (1736 kg/ha).

A research experiment was conducted during kharif season of 2017 at College of Agriculture, Research farm Gwalior (M.P.) under Department of Agronomy. On the basis of results obtained the treatment neem coated urea 2% spray at flower initiation gave significantly higher seed yield (1456 kg/ha), net monetary return (‘ 74396/ha), BCR (4.30) and harvest index (27.63%) as compared to other treatments but at par with treatment NPK (19 : 19 : 19) 2% spray at flower initiation and neem coated urea 2% + salicylic acid 75 ppm spray at flower initiation treatment.

A field experiment was undertaken at PAU, Regional Station (Bathinda) to evaluate the effect of weed management practices on the performance of cluster bean [(Cyamopsis tetragonoloba (L.) Taub] under AICRP on Arid Legumes during the kharif season of 2015 and 2016. Data revealed that weed dry matter was lowest in case of weed free check (T8) as plots were kept weed free as per the treatment. Among other treatment combinations Pendimethalin @ 0.75 kg a.i./ha as PE + Imazethapyr+ Imazamox @ 40g a.i./ha at 2-3 leaf stage of weeds (T7) produced the lowest weed dry matter closely followed by Pendimethalin @ 0.75 kg a.i./ha as PE+ One Intercultivation at 20-25 DAS (T6) and Pendimethalin @ 0.75 kg a.i./ha as PE + Imazethapyr @ 40g a.i./ha at 2-3 leaf stage of weeds (T5). WCE was highest in weed free followed by Pendimethalin @ 0.75 kg a.i./ha as PE + Imazethapyr+ Imazamox @ 40g a.i./ha at 2-3 leaf stage of weeds (T7). tudies were conducted at Instructional farm, College of Agriculture, SKRAU, Bikaner during rabi, 2016-17. Among the nine insecticides/botanicals evaluated against O. phaseoli, the treatment of cartap-hydrochloride was found the most effective followed by phorate 10, acephate, oxydemeton–methyl, quinalphos and dimethoate whereas, NSKE was found the least effective followed by neem oil (0.5%) and azadirachtin (5.0 ml/ltr). The maximum seed yield was obtained in the treatment of cartap-hydrochloride whereas, it was minimum in control. The maximum incremental benefit-cost ratio was obtained in the treatment of acephate (33.22) while, minimum in NSKE. The maximum net return of RS. 25846 ha-1 was obtained from the treatment of cartap-hydrochloride while, the minimum net return of Rs. 3856 ha-1 was obtained from NSKE.

A field experiment was conducted during the rainy (kharif) season of 2013 and 2014 to find out the effect of “influence of mulching practices, varieties and fertility levels on growth and productivity of clusterbean ,,.The results revealed that the plastic mulch significantly increased the growth and yield characterstics, seed yield as well as economics over the weed biomass mulch and no mulch. Variety HG-563 recorded significantly higher growth characterstics, yield attributing, seed yield and economics as compared to RGC-1055. Among the fertility levels, application of 75% RDF + VC 5 t/ha resulted in significantly higher growth characterstics, yield attributing, seed yield and economics over all the remaining fertility levels. Thus, it can be concluded that in clusterbean (variety HG-563), adoption of plastic mulch along with RDF 75%+ 5 t/ha vermicompost is recommended for erratic and scarce rainfall as well as low sustainability of soil.

On the basis of results obtained the treatment neem coated urea 2% + salicylic acid 75 ppm spray at flower initiation gave significantly higher seed yield (2685 kg/ha), net monetary return (‘1818103/ha), BCR (6.21) and harvest index (29.23%) as compared to other treatments but at par with treatment neem coated urea 2% spray at flower initiation, NPK (19 : 19 : 19) 2% spray at flower initiation and TNAU pulse wonder 5 kg/ha at flower initiation.

Little is known about best herbicidal weed option for weed eradication in soybean in agro-climatic circumstances of Sargodha, Punjab, Pakistan. A two year field study was accomplished at College of Agriculture experimental site Sargodha in spring seasons of 2018 and 2019 to evaluate the efficacy of different herbicides adjacent to major weeds present in soybean. The study consisted of 8 herbicide treatments including two pre-emergence herbicides (pendimethalin at 489.1 g a.i. ha-1, pendimethalin + S-metolachlor at 731.1 g a.i. ha-1) which are applied immediately after sowing and six post-emergence herbicides (oxyfluorfen at 237.1 g a.i. ha-1, metribuzin at 518.7 g a.i. ha-1, quizalofop-p-ethyl at 148.2 g a.i. ha-1, acetochlor at 741 g a.i. ha-1, halosulfuron at 37 g a.i. ha-1and topramezone at 21.5 g a.iha-1) which were used 25 days subsequent to sowing. In contrast to control, all herbicides have shown significant decline in weed density (up to 94%) and dry weight (up to 88%); and caused significant increases in plant height (up to 85%), pod bearing branches (up to 77%), number of pods per plant (up to 83%), 100-seed weight (up to 37%) and seed yield (up to 160%) of soybean. Among herbicides, topramezone at 21.5 g a.i ha-1 gave significantly the highest (1234 and 1272 kg ha-1 in the year 2018 and 2019) seed yield of soybean and HEIs (1.28 and 1.03 in year 2018 and 2019, respectively). However, oxyfluorfen at 237.1 g a.i. ha-1, pendimethalin + S-metolachlor at 731.1 g a.i. ha-1, pendimethalin at 489.1 g a.i. ha-1, quizalofop-p-ethyl at 148.2 g a.i.ha-1 followed it. The regression analysis depicted a significant negative moderate relationship of soybean seed yield with weed dry weight (R2 = 0.7074), and pods per plant (R2 = 0.7012) was proved to be the main yield component responsible for higher yield of soybean.

A field experiment was conducted during rabi season of 2018-19 and 2019-20 in Dryland experimental field belong to soil order Inceptisols, Biswanath college of Agriculture, Assam Agricultural University, Biswanath chariali, Assam to study the ‘‘Yield and yield attributing parameters of toria (Brassica campestries) under real time rainfall situation in an Inceptisols of Assam, India’’ under AICRPDA, NICRA. The treatments consisting of 4 different dates of sowing i.e. S1-41th SMW, S2-44th SMW, S3-46th SMW, and S4- 48th SMW, & three variety i.e. V1-JT-90-1(Jeuti), V2-Yellow sarson (Benoy) and V3- TS-38. Growth, yield and yield attributing characters of toria varieties were influenced by different dates of sowing. S1 registered higher plant height (43.2 cm, 92.9 cm and 106.6 cm & 40.2 cm, 89.8 cm and 101.5 cm) and number of branch (3.8, 5.3 and 7.2 & 3.4, 5.1 and 6.9) at 30 DAS, 45 DAS and 60 DAS, respectively, during 2018-19 and 2019-20. Yield attributing characters like number of siliqua, number of seed per siliqua, 1000 seed weight (g) were gradually decreased with advancement of sowing dates. Among the three varieties V1 (Jeuti) recorded highest seed yield (8.9 q ha-1 and 8.1 q ha-1) and stover yield (23.4 q ha-1 and 22.2 q ha-1) in 2018-19 and 2019-20, respectively. Highest HI (28.5% and 25.8%) was recorded in S1 and lowest was recorded in S4 (20.7% and 14.6%).
