This paper approaches the problem of diversity in an educational context. The balance between diversity and unity is an old philosophical question. Education has not been spared the struggle for the answer to this dichotomy. The application of multiple intelligences theory, based on the administration of a MIDAS questionnaire, has revealed a detailed panorama of the potential of a group within the context of the education system. The problem of diversity is not bound to the direct teaching or immediate address of this potential. It is not only a question of the immediate but also a question of what the future holds and how this potential unfolds and is folded by the context of the global village and its speeded time spiral. Keywords: Educational diversity, cultural diversity, multiple intelligences theory, interpersonal intelligences, intrapersonal intelligence.

This paper is aimed to render an analysis on how the impression of linguistic imperialism of English in the era of globalization would affect Language Teaching of English in Indonesian context. English is known to globally spread very rapidly. Starting from the two major diasporas in 16th and 18th century, now, English is accepted in even more countries through the initiatives which is claimed as a practice of Linguistics Imperialism. Indonesia, unlike other neighboring countries such as Singapore, Malaysia, and the Phillipines, has a very little exposure on English due to never become regulated under the British colonial. Hence, English has never been widely spoken in the Indonesian society. But in contrast, English is taught in Indonesian schools as a compulsory subject in grade 7 of secondary school to University levels and considered very important compared to other subjects in Indonesian education system. This is proven by the fact that English is tested the Indonesian national examination (Minister of National Education, 2007). This paper discusses about both the historic view and present-day view of ELT as a form of Linguisitics Imperialism to be noted and anticipated in the practice of ELT in Indonesia in order to plan for a more benefitting reason. Hopefully, by being aware of these issues and accusations, ELT in Indonesia will advance better in the future.

This study was conducted to improve the academic achievement of students in the subject of mathematics at the secondary school level through the application of multiple intelligences theory-based activities at the secondary school level. The researcher used a true experimental design in this study. The population of the study comprised of all secondary school students of district Bannu and 60 students were randomly selected as a sample of study who were further divided(based on pre-test score) into two equivalent groups (Control and Experimental). The experimental group was taught through MIT-based activities, while the control group was taught through the traditional method of teaching. This treatment lasted for eight weeks.  At the end of the procedure, a post-test was conducted to find out its outcome. The data obtained was analyzed by SPSS. To compare the achievements of both classes, researchers used the Independent Sample t-test and the Paired Sample t-test. To find out its effect size, Cohens'd was used. Results showed that the experimental group taught through multiple intelligence theory-based exercises has good academic achievements as compared to the results control group taught through the conventional method of teaching.

This article reports the results of a survey focusing on the educational context of second foreign languages (SFL) to which 147 Swedish secondary school leaders responded. The study aims to provide a picture of how SFLs like German, French and Spanish are organised in a representative selection of Swedish schools across the country. The results of the survey show that there are major differences between languages when it comes to the language offer and the number of pupils and teachers in the respective languages. Moreover, there are also important differences between schools, some of which can be related to educational, socio-economic and regional aspects of the responding schools. A general conclusion of the survey is that conditions for SFLs currently vary across languages and across the country. One of the main challenges for the future seems to be to maintain a varying offer of languages in a majority of schools.
