South Korea imports a large amount of agricultural and aquatic food products from China, which meets its food security. However, the import from China raises food safety questions, leading to food safety apprehension. We explored the source of the Korean consumer’s apprehension. Based on the apprehension reduction theory (ART) developed from interviews with Korean consumers in the first stage of the study, we conducted a survey to assess the social media as an indirect source of information and direct experience of the consumer in the second stage of the study. We received 504 responses, of which 1/3 of the respondents had visited China in the last year. Using FSS (Food Safety Satisfaction) as the dependent variable (1— low to 5— high), we link information from the social media vis-à-vis direct experience and made three discoveries. (a) The information quantity of social media increases the consumer’s apprehension, partially refuting the ART. (ii) FSS increased in response to information flow from the direct experience of the consumer with Chinese imported food. (c) The direct information from experience mediates the effects of indirect information (social media) on apprehension about agricultural and aquatic product imports. We made three inferences. First, information quantity and quality have separated roles in the ART. Second, social media increases the free-market style information flow, turning legitimate products to illegitimate and vice versa. Third, the collective irrationality from the information quantity needs institutional bricolage to legitimize the chaotic nature of the untamed information.

Sentiments are the hormones of social networking sites. They trigger human emotions and emotions initiate social communication. All raw and polished communication that happen in social networking sites in form of chats, comments, scraps, tags, likes, photographs, etc are the result of an outpour of the bag of human sentiments. The objective of this research paper is to make an attempt to identify the various factors for identifying the role played by social networking sites on human emotions Social media is such a development that modern technology would always boast of, yet it cannot be denied that this media primarily functions with sentiments. Sentiments are to social media what fuel is to fire. Whether it is youth or age, whether it is house or office, whether it is man or woman every section of the society has contributed to the working, development and sustenance of the social media. Society, in other words, has fallen prey to these social networking sites. And the fundamental cause behind such addiction is "the role sentiments play” in them. Too much of sentiments seasoned with a pinch of logic sometimes provide us with a real fun platform for our society. Perpetual exchange of emotions in social networking sites are the main reason responsible for making them our most emphatic guardian who is considered to be the most trustworthy companion. However, disastrous bargain with the human sentiments in social networking sites may prove to be harmful and hazardous. The paper intends to explore this intense association of sentiments with social networking sites with identification of various steps to create awareness and to be excessively involved with the virtual world that may lead to disastrous effects. This study will help various other research activities carried out in information and management field as well firms planning to adopt and implement the possible ways of removing ignorance and open up various scope of research on the topic of social networking sites.

Abstract. Knowledge exchange via social media is crucial for organizational success. Yet, many employees only read others’ contributions without actively contributing their knowledge. We thus examined predictors of the willingness to contribute knowledge. Applying social identity theory and expectancy theory to knowledge exchange, we investigated the interplay of users’ identification with their organization and perceived usefulness of a social media tool. In two studies, identification facilitated users’ willingness to contribute knowledge – provided that the social media tool seemed useful (vs. not-useful). Interestingly, identification also raised the importance of acquiring knowledge collectively, which could in turn compensate for low usefulness of the tool. Hence, considering both social and media factors is crucial to enhance employees’ willingness to share knowledge via social media.

The report considers how the state economic policy contributes to the national economic development in the midterm perspective. It analyzes main current economic problems of the Russian economy, i.e. low effectiveness of the social system, high dependence on export industries and natural resources, high monopolization and underdeveloped free market, as well as barriers that hinder non-recourse-based business development including high tax burden, skilled labor deficit and lack of investment capital. We propose a social-oriented market economy as the Russian economic model to achieve a sustainable economic growth in the long-term perspective. This model is based on people’s prosperity and therefore expanding domestic demand that stimulates the growth of domestic non-resource-based sector which in turn can accelerate annual GDP growth rates to 10-12%. To realize this model "Delovaya Rossiya" proposes a program that consists of a number of directions and key groups of measures covering priority national projects, tax, fiscal, monetary, innovative-industrial, trade and social policies.
