Tridax Procumbens Linn is a member of the Asteraceae family. Tridax Procumbens has to be utilized because native medication intended for a number of complaints and problems in humans and animals for thousands of years. It is used widely in Indian conventional remedies for healing of wounds, like anticoagulants, in fungal infection, in diarrhea and dysentery, as an antioxidant, antimicrobial, anti-inflammatory, and immunomodulators. In folk medicine, certain communicable skin diseases are treated by using leaves extract. It's also known as 'Bhringraj,' an ayurvedic drug used to treat liver problems. At least 12,000 people have been separated from their families. These compounds protect plants from pathogens, insects, and herbivores by acting as defensive mechanisms. The aim of the test is to establish the antioxidant potential of the leaves of Tridax Procumbens. The current research is aimed at identifying novel plant directions, and antioxidant activity has been chosen for that reason. Using the maceration procedure, the power of the plant's shade dried leaves was extracted with chloroform water and ethanol. The antioxidant activities of the resulting extracts were evaluated using 2 techniques: nitric oxide scavenging activity and ferric chloride reductive ability. The alcoholic extract in 600 mg/ml and 800 mg/ml and 1000 mg/ml concentration has demonstrated antioxidant activity higher than ascorbic acid (20 mg) by nitric oxide scavenging method. By using a ferric chloride scavenging model, the aqueous and alcoholic extracts at 400 g/ml and 600 g/ml concentrations revealed antioxidant activity near to that of ascorbic acid (20 g).

Aerva javanica (Amaranthaceae) is a grey coloured woolly perennial tomentose shrub. Its traditional and folklore usage motivates further investigation on its pharmacognostic parameters and pharmacological potential. Therefore, in order to establish its antioxidant potential, DPPH, SOD and superoxide scavenging and total antioxidant capacity, were determined. Hydro-alcoholic extract (CE) was prepared from flowering tops of A. javanica. In order to work further on activity guided fractions, ethyl acetate (AJEAF) fraction was prepared.  For in-vitro evaluation, ascorbic acid was used as standard antioxidant compound. In DPPH assay IC50 was determined as 89.00 µg/ml, as compared with standard ascorbic acid with IC50 21.80 µg/ml, with a concentration dependent scavenging of free radical. Superoxide scavenging potential in terms of SOD expressed as IC50, was determined as 61.904 µg /ml for AJEAF in contrast to 132.413 µg /ml for standard ascorbic acid. This was equivalent to 16.154 Eq SOD units /mg (EAF) per mg of sample respectively against 7.552 Eq SOD units /mg of standard. Total antioxidant capacity was found to be 283.67 mg Ascorbic acid Eq /g. Results indicated that fraction (AJEAF had significant antioxidant potential which expressed the prospective potential of fraction against metabolic disorders.

The antioxidant activity of aqueous and alcoholic extracts of different plant parts viz, leaves, flower, stem and root of Ajuga bracteosa was investigated against various in-vitro antioxidant assays. The total phenolic, flavonoid and tannin contents also estimated. The results revealed the significant antioxidant potential and variation in the IC50, EC50 and phytochemical contents among all the plant parts. The aqueous extract of leaves exhibited significantly (P<0.05) highest antioxidant activity on 2,2-azino-bis-(3-ethylbenzothiazoline-6-sulphonic acixd), 2,2-diphenyl-1-picryl hydrazyl, and potassium ferricyanide reducing power assay, with IC50 values of 0.2707±0.0008, 0.4409±0.0020, and EC50 value 0.3413±0.0030 mg/mL, respectively, followed by the other parts of the plant. The leaves extract also possess the highest total phenolics, flavonoid and tannin contents among all the parts. Similarly, the aqueous extract is better than the alcoholic extract of different parts as far as phytochemical contents and antioxidant activity concerned. The present study revealed that the aqueous extract of leaves had the highest antioxidant potential, which correlated with the high level of total phenolic fl flavonoid, and tannin contents. Therefore, higher the phytochemical contents, higher will be the antioxidant potential.
