Banana fruit is one of the commonly taken foods in many parts of the world. The fruit is known for its high potassium content. We wished to study the potassium content of eleven types of ripe banana fruit available in the cauvery delta region of South India. We measured two values in each of the eleven types of banana fruit. We found the mean varied from 460.75mg/100gm in the Rasthali variety to 921.75 in the karpura valli variety. The potassium binding capacity of the soil and the fertilizers pumped may influence the values. The literature which presently describes the values between 200 to 400mg/100g cautions the use of bananas in patients taking antihypertensive medications like enalapril and in patients with renal dysfunction. Our study which shows the values to be double the described ones, will throw light on additional caution in such cases. We admit that there was no soil study in this work which can influence the potassium content. Before any dietetic advice on the intake of potassium, the bananas of the concerned geographical area and such high potassium values should be taken into account. When the needs to cater the patients of potassium arise in uncomplicated hypertension, the varieties karpuravalli and peyampalam can be considered.

The search for a prospective lead chemical is a time-consuming and complicated procedure that necessitates a lot of money, patience, and labour. Humans have been using phytochemicals, especially secondary metabolites, for this purpose since ancient times, and they are still on the hunt for even source for drug discovery. Natural flavonoids including rhamnetin, eupatorin, and primuletin are involved in the treatment of numerous biological diseases. The research focuses on molecular docking of 10 flavonoid compounds with the Interleukin-6 (1ALU) and TNF-α (5MU8) to assess the binding affinity at the binding location with the highest binding affinity. The flavonoid-protein complex with the highest binding affinity and interactions was studied using molecular dynamics modelling. With the Interleukin-6 (1ALU) and TNF-α (5MU8), the flavonoid naringin had the lowermost binding energy of 9.8 Kcal/mol. It took 20 nanoseconds to complete and yielded satisfactory results. The rhamnetin, eupatorin, and primuletin residues are more successful at maintaining flavonoid stability against Interleukin-6 (1ALU) and TNF-α (5MU8), according to the overall results of our simulation. These expected results will serve as a starting point for more investigation into the significance of their drug-likeliness properties in the management of ulcerative colitis.

BCS class II is well-known for the drugs, having poor aqueous solubility and high permeability. Simvastatin is also categorized as BCS class II, suffering from poor aqueous solubility, affecting its bioavailability. In an attempt to resolve this problem, solid dispersions of simvastatin were prepared by spray-drying method. Solid dispersions of simvastatin with PVP K25 and aerosol in ratio (1:1:1 to 1:5:1) and without aerosil 200 (1:1 to 1:5) were prepared by spray drying method. The dissolution test showed the enhancement of dissolution as compared to the pure drug and nearly equal to marketed formulation “SIMVOTIN 20mg” in both types of formulation, but formulations with aerosil 200 showed faster drug release as compared to the simple formulations without aerosil. The formulation containing the 1:3:1 (simvastatin: PVP K25: Aerosil 200) showed the faster drug release as compared to other formulation that do not contain the Aerosil 200. Other characterization studies were also performed such as FTIR, differential scanning colorimetry and powdered X-ray crystallographic studies. These studies showed the increased amorphous nature of the drug in the formulation, which explain the enhanced dissolution rate of the drug for these formulations.

Background Around 33% of the populace (fundamentally pediatric and geriatric) has gulping hardships, bringing about helpless consistence with oral tablet drug treatment which prompts decreased in general treatment viability. For this explanation, tablets that can quickly break down or deteriorate in the oral cavity have drawn in a lot of consideration. Objective research was designed to develop and evaluate boosted orally fast disintegrating tablets (OFDT) for oro-buccal drug delivery of oseltamivir phosphate. Methods In the present study six formulations of mouth dissolving tablet of oseltamivir were prepared by direct compression method using SSG as a super disintegrating agent with lactose, talcum, mannitol, SLS and starch. The prepared tablets were then subjected to various evaluation parameters. Results every one of the outcomes was observed to be inside satisfactory reaches. The formulation F6 manufacturing utilizing SSG 50mg and SLS 10mg showed the higher medication content (98%), while the formulation F2 showed the least medication content (92%). It was seen that with the increment in SSG concentration, the medication content was additionally increased. SEM concentrate on showed request of expanding unpleasantness of tablet surface is F1<F2<F3<F4<F5<F6. The expanding unpleasantness may be answerable for higher % of medication release. Formulation F1 showed the most elevated medication discharge (97.735%), while the formulation F5 showed the least medication discharge (56.24%). Finally, it was inferred that SSG, SLS, D-mannitol, starch, lactose, and talcum powder can be effectively utilized in the formulation of Oseltamivir phosphate mouth dissolving tablets. Conclusion: From the above work it was presumed that the formulation of the Oseltamivir Phosphate was observed to be more achievable than the regular one.

According to a systemic analysis conducted in 2017, the blunt stroke incidence in various parts of India ranged from 44.29 to 559 per 100,000 people over the previous two decades. Stroke is the sudden loss of any neurological function due to a disturbance of blood flow. The majority of stroke victims suffer from long-term disability. We present the case of a 72-year-old woman who was admitted to the hospital with symptoms of fatigue on the left side of her body and facial palsy on the left side, on further assessment it was found that patient had coronary artery bypass grafting before 10 years with no post-operative complications and also had a history of hypothyroidism, this brings about the suspicion about the correlation between the stroke with the history of IHD and hypothyroidism. To manage these passive movements breathing exercises, bed mobility exercises, strengthening exercises followed by gait training was given which was highly effective to make the patient independent and return to her daily activities

Congenital heart disease consists of various conditions including tetralogy of Fallot, ventricular septal defect, Epstein’s anomaly, single ventricle, etc. Among these single ventricles is one of the gravest forms of cyanotic congenital heart disease. The cardiac diagnosis is associated with an increased risk of stroke among children. Pediatric arterial ischemic stroke (AIS) is an important cause of neurologic disease in children causing disability. The 14-year-old patient came to the hospital was presented with left side hemiplegia with severe exercise intolerance due to congenital heart disease. The patient has been advised to undergo Fontan procedure for single-ventricle condition 3 years back, but due to poor socioeconomic status, parents of patients refused to do so. The primary goal was to improve bed mobility and trunk balance without developing symptoms of exercise intolerance. The intervention was started with deep and segmental breathing exercises. Proprioceptive neuromuscular facilitation and constrained induced movement therapy were added in the program in addition to passive and active movements, bed mobility, functional reeducation, trunk control exercises, and balance exercises. Combinations of all of the above therapeutic approaches lead to increased functional independence in the patient. This case reports the effectiveness of a rehabilitation program for pediatric arterial ischemic stroke with preventive guidelines for exercise intolerance.
