The article presents the results of the risk of developing the burnout syndrome in medical workers, taking into account the influence of hygienic working conditions and the psychological situation in the team. 134 medical workers with working conditions class 2.0, 3.1, and 3.2 were under observation. The ratio of the working conditions of medical workers to the corresponding class was established according to the Manual 2.2006–05 «Hygienic assessment of factors of the working environment and the labor process. Criteria and classification of working conditions». The methodological basis for assessing the level of emotional burnout of a medical worker in a team was a questionnaire developed by V. V. Boyko; the psychological situation in the team was assessed using a questionnaire by A. F. Fiedler. The conducted studies found that with the class of working conditions of doctors at the level of 2.0, the risk of developing emotional burnout after five years of work is 30.7 %. At the level of the class of working conditions 3.2, after five years of work, the burnout among doctors will reach 46.7 %. Against the background of a favorable psychological situation in the team, the probability of developing an emotional burnout syndrome was 20.0 %, with an unfavorable one, it increased to 46.6 %. The results obtained in the course of this study were used as the basis for the development of a method for predicting the risk of developing burnout syndrome in medical professionals in the first five years of work with a sensitivity of 78 % and a specificity of 68 %.

Abstract Background Creation and maintenance of a safe healthy work environment is one part of a nurse’s role. Evidence shows there is a presence of negative behaviors like incivility and violence in the nursing profession. This systematic review and meta-analysis determined the rate of incivility towards nurses and the factors affecting it. Methods All observational studies that primarily investigated the rate of incivility towards nurses were selected regardless of sampling method. The electronic databases “PubMed, Embase, Web of Sciences, Magiran, IranDoc, and Scopus” were searched for studies published during the period of January 1, 1996 to December 31, 2019. The quality of the selected studies was assessed with Hoy’s Critical Assessment Checklist. The study was undertaken using the random effects model. Data were analyzed with STATA14. Results Data on 61 articles, including data on 30801 individuals that were published during 1997–2019, entered the study. Prevalence of incivility was 50.10% (95%, CI: 48.05, 62.06). Conclusion Given the highly important role of nurses in care-giving, they deserve to have a safe working environment similar to other work milieus.

AbstractThe results of a literature review show that there is an undeniable link between the working conditions connected with the existence of threats in a form of harmful, dangerous (mechanical) or strenuous factors and the employees’ health condition determining the level of their ability to continue their work. It is necessary to shape the employee’s working environment in an appropriate way by eliminating or minimising the threats related to the work process (in accordance with the binding norms) in order to prevent the existence of any health problems or such undesirable events as accidents at work. Thus, the issue concerning the influence of elimination or limitation of threats connected with the existence of harmful, dangerous (mechanical) and strenuous factors in the work process on the level of employment in the hazardous conditions considering the prevention of early leave from the performed work is becoming an important and current research problem. Therefore, in this article, the attempt was made to present the dependencies between the level of considered employment and the factors affecting the level of acceptable occupational risk. The econometric modelling, which uses cross-section-time data, was applied. Moreover, the analysis showing the changes in shaping considered variables was performed. The presented information refers to Polish regions and was taken from the publications of CSO (Statistics Poland) covering the period 2011 - 2017.

The aim of the work is to analyze and summarize the literature data regarding the morbidity of pharmacists in the context of the COVID-19 pandemic and to determine the prospects for further research in this direction. Results. The catastrophic spread of the coronavirus infection (COVID-19) across the planet has become a challenge to the resilience of healthcare systems around the world. Pharmacists, as part of the healthcare professional team, have a unique role in the ongoing global fight against the pandemic. At the same time they are directly influenced by adverse environmental factors. Based on the literature data integration, it was determined that pharmacists are exposed to psychological stress, they are susceptible to allergic, oncological diseases, as well as diseases of the musculoskeletal system, and to primary varicose veins of the lower extremities. In addition, when providing pharmaceutical care, pharmacists may be at a very high risk for COVID-19. A review of scientific professional literature over the past 5 years has shown the lack of targeted research concerning the structure and level of morbidity with temporary disability of pharmacists in Ukraine and in other countries of the world. This fact and previously conducted studies give grounds to assert that there are significant difficulties in providing, collecting, accumulating and analyzing indicators of morbidity with temporary disability of pharmacists in Ukraine both at the state level and at the level of individual pharmaceutical enterprises. Today, we need to develop a methodology for assessing the relationship between the morbidity of pharmacists and their working conditions, and to find fundamentally new approaches to reduce the risk of COVID-19 infection. This should result in improvement of the working conditions in the pharmaceutical sector and in the health care sector in Ukraine. Conclusions. Analysis and summary of literature data on the morbidity of pharmacists in the context of the COVID-19 pandemic have revealed the need for further scientific research regarding the substantiation of factors affecting the structure and level of their incidence. The pandemic has created a need to develop scientifically based measures to increase the resilience of workers in the pharmaceutical health sector of Ukraine to the negative factors of the working environment impact on their life andhealth.

Objective: As age increases, different physical and mental problems, including sleep disorders, occur in the elderly. The Person-Environment-Occupation (PEO) model is one of the most common practical models in occupational therapy. The current study aims to review negative factors affecting the sleeping quality of the elderly in Iran based on the PEO model. Materials & Methods: According to PRISMA (the preferred reporting items for systematic reviews and meta-analyses) guidelines and in this systematic review study, we searched Google Scholar, Scopus, PubMed, Magiran, IranMedex, and SID databases using the keywords of “Elderly”, “aging”, “geriatric”, “older adult”, “Iran”, and “sleep” in English and Persian articles published from 2010 to 2019. Studies on the sleep problems of other age groups, letters to the editor, duplicate studies, studies on non-Iranian seniors, studies published in languages other than Persian and English, and those with unavailable full-texts were excluded. In the next stage, the titles and abstracts of the retrieved articles were independently reviewed by two researchers to identify the studies that meet the inclusion criteria. The dispute was resolved through discussion and reaching an agreement. Then, the full text of eligible articles was retrieved. Articles approved based on at least 20 out of 22 items of the STROBE (strengthening the reporting of observational studies in epidemiology) checklist were included in the study. Finally, 24 articles that were in line with the research objectives were selected for an in-depth review. Results: Out of 24 studies, 11 reported quantitative sleep problems, 9 of which claimed that more than 70% of the elderly had sleep problems. The negative factors affecting the sleep quality of Iranian older adults were presented and categorized based on personal, environmental, and occupational factors. Eighteen articles addressed personal factors, where the most common factor was related to personal health issues. Eleven articles reported environmental factors, where the most common factor was related to the physical environment. In three articles, the factors that had a negative effect on sleeping are occupational and included the change of sleeping place and not talking to others before going to bed. Conclusion: Personal factors (e.g. aging, female gender, disease), environmental factors (e.g. lack of communication with relatives and friends, inappropriate physical environment, and living in a nursing home), and occupational factors (e.g. change of sleeping place, hospitalization, and not talking to others before going to sleep) are negative factors affecting the sleep quality of the elderly in Iran.

Objective to assess the risk of developing the burnout syndrome in medical workers under the influence of working conditions and psychological environment in the team. Material and methods. To evaluate the level of emotional burnout, 134 medical workers of medical institutions of the Saratov region were tested according to Viktor Boiko methodology, based on the study of the working environment and the labor process, as well as according to Fiedlers methodology of assessing the psychological climate in the team. Results. The study results testified the direct influence of the factors of the labor process that determine the class of working conditions on the risks of developing emotional burnout in medical workers. The 2.0 class of working conditions implies the risk of occupational burnout in 30.7% of doctors after five years of work. The 3.2 class of working conditions leads to burnout in 46.7% of doctors after five years of work. Discussion. The high degree of emotional burnout registered in medical workers in the course of this study was naturally determined by both the level of the class of working conditions and the level of the psychological tension in the team. The prognosis of burnout syndrome development in the teams with positive psychological climate is 20.0%, while in the teams with unfavourable psychological situation the risk of occupational burnout reaches 46.6%. Conclusion. The results obtained in the course of this study were used as the basis for the development of a method for predicting the risk of developing burnout syndrome in medical professionals.

Background: Interpreters often play a crucial role in the health care of refugees. Although interpreters working with refugees are regularly confronted with emotionally stressful content, little is known about their work-related stress and psychological well-being. Primarily qualitative studies indicate increased emotional stress in interpreters, and difficulties in handling the traumatic content from their clients. Additionally, the working conditions of interpreters appear to be demanding, due to low payment and a lack of supervision or adequate preparation. Objective: The presented systematic review aimed to identify and summarise quantitative and qualitative research on the mental health of interpreters in the mental health care of refugees.Method: A systematic search was performed in five databases, and specific interpreting journals were searched. After removal of duplicates, 6,920 hits remained. Eligible studies included quantitative, qualitative, and mixed-methods studies as well as case studies and grey literature. The studies aimed to examine mental health aspects or work experiences of spoken language interpreters in mental health care settings for adult refugees. Results: Altogether, 25 studies were identified, including six quantitative and 19 qualitative studies. Studies were analysed and presented narratively. In the analysis of the qualitative studies, three themes emerged: “Emotions, behaviour, and coping strategies,” “Working in a triad,” and “Working environment.” In the quantitative studies, interpreters showed heightened levels of emotional stress and anxiety, and secondary traumatic stress reactions. In several qualitative studies, interpreters described a devaluing health care system and stressful working conditions with a lack of support structures. Conclusion: Overall, the results indicate a high level of stress among interpreters working with refugees. Quantitative data are sparse, and studies employ heterogeneous assessments in diverse study settings. Therefore, future quantitative research is necessary to consistently investigate interpreters' mental health in different mental health care settings.Systematic Review Registration:https://www.crd.york.ac.uk/PROSPERO/, identifier: CRD42019117948.
