Designing a Co-creation System for the Development of Work-process-related Learning Material in Manufacturing

The increasing digitalization and automatization in the manufacturing industry as well as the need to learn on the job has reinforced the need for much more granular learning, which has not yet impacted the design of learning materials. In this regard, granular learning concepts require situated learning materials to support self-directed learning in the workplace in a targeted manner. Co-creation approaches offer promising opportunities to support employees in the independent design of such situated learning materials. Using an action-design research (ADR) approach, we derived requirements from co-creation concepts and practice by conducting focus group workshops in manufacturing and vocational training schools to develop design principles for a co-creation system that supports employees through the creation process of work-process-related learning material. Consequently, we formulate four design principles for the design of a collaborative learning and qualification system for manufacturing. Using an innovative mixed methods approach, we validate these design principles and design features to demonstrate the success of the developed artifact. The results provide insights regarding the design of a co-creation system to support learners in the co-creation of learning material with the consideration of cognitive load (CL). Our study contributes to research and practice by proposing novel design principles for supporting employees in peer creation processes. Furthermore, our study reveals how co-creation systems can support the collaborative development of learning materials in the work process.

Innovative actions developed by nurses in primary health care

ABSTRACT Objectives: to understand the work process dimensions related to innovative actions developed by nurses in Primary Health Care. Methods: qualitative, descriptive study, developed in Primary Health Care in a city in the Southern Region of Brazil. Seventy-six nurses, who worked in management and assistance, participated in this study through semi-structured interviews. After data processing by IRAMUTEQ software, the textual analysis occurred by descending hierarchical classification. Results: forty-two innovative actions, considered by the participants as new ways of working, were identified. There was a predominance of innovative actions related to the Management and Assist dimensions; we noticed the fragility of the actions to contemplate all the nurse’s work process dimensions. Final Considerations: the predominance of innovative actions was related to users’ assistance and better conditions in the teamwork process, besides highlighting the role of nurses in the perspective of a new way of working in health services.

Information and communication technologies: interfaces the nursing work process

ABSTRACT Objectives: to unveil the meanings that nurses attribute Information and Communication Technologies for the nursing work process Methods: qualitative research, theoretically and methodologically based on the Complexity Theory and on the Grounded Theory, respectively. Research with 19 participants, being 12 clinical nurses, and 7 resident nurses. Semi-structured interviews were used for data collection. Results: the results revealed the meanings that clinical nurses attribute to Information and Communication Technologies and, thus, the motivations and limitations for the use of these technologies, pointing out possibilities and strategies that impact the nursing work process, based on the interactions promoted by the official and non-official use of these resources. Final Considerations: the meanings that nurses attribute to Information and Communication Technologies are dependent on their ability to successfully employ those technologies and their importance to the work process developed by the professionals.

Implementation of Student Data Applications at Tinta Emas Vocational High School

Every organization expects convenience, speed, efficiency and accuracy in their activities, but the level of mastery a technology in each person varies, it becomes a factor in the difficulty of implementing a technology directly. SMK Tinta Emas, is an educational organization that has a vision to improve services in the school service information system to make easier student registration process. This system will accelerate the work process and achieve work effectiveness. The problem that occurs at SMK Tinta Emas is how to implement the application for staffs and teachers with various information technology knowledge backgrounds therefore in the application later there will not be many obstacles that occur due to errors in the use of student data. The community service team as an intermediary between the makers of the student data system involved in the system was asked to provide direction in socialization and education. Finally, the community service team hopes that this implementation and socialization will produce good results for the smooth process of modernizing school student data by applying information technology.

Batola Kalimantan Selatan,untuk permasalahan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini memfokuskan bagaimana para guru dan staff di sekolahan SDN Semangat Dalam 1 dapat mahir dalam menggunakan media penyimpanan seperti google drive,dropbox,one drive dan icloud untuk membantu proses pembelajaran serta menjadi media penyimpanan yang efektif dan efisien saat ini. Dengan dilakukannya pengabdian masyarakat ini membantu para guru dan staff di sekolahan SDN Semangat Dalam 1 memanfaatkan media penyimpanan berbasis cloud sehingga menjadi alternatif untuk penunjang proses pembelajaran dan proses pekerjaan. Managing and Mitigating Suffering in the Return-to-Work Process

Each year thousands of workers experience a serious illness or injury that necessitates time off work and a subsequent re-engagement with the work environment. In Australia, workers’ compensation legislation mandates the return-to-work (RTW) process is formal, structured, and negotiated between the worker, their employer, health care professionals and their RTW coordinator. How this is executed by those parties directly influences whether the RTW process is supportive and successful, or exacerbates the suffering of returning workers by causing them to feel ostracised, exposed, and vulnerable in their workplace. In this article, we examine how the RTW process can cause physical, emotional, social, and existential suffering for returning workers. We then discuss how the suffering that workers experience can be mitigated by five key factors: clarity of roles in the RTW process, alignment of worker and employer expectations, the advocacy provided by the RTW coordinator, the support provided for the worker’s psychological wellbeing, and the RTW literacy of supervisors and colleagues.
