We give three new authentication schemes without secrecy. The first two on finite fields and Galois rings, using Gray map for this link. The third construction is given on Galois rings. The main achievement in this work is to obtain optimal impersonation and substitution probabilities in the schemes. Additionally, in the first and second scheme, we simplify the source space and bring a better relationship between the size of the message space and the key space than the given in [8]. Finally, we provide a third scheme on Galois rings, which generalizes the scheme over finite fields constructed in [9].

<p>O Projeto <strong>Memorial da Imprensa de Uberaba: criação da Hemeroteca Digital do Triângulo Mineiro e Alto Paranaíba </strong>constitui, provavelmente, o maior investimento do estado de Minas Gerais em um projeto individual na área de preservação de acervos documentais históricos. O projeto conta com o financiamento da Fundação de Amparo à Pesquisa do Estado de Minas Gerais (FAPEMIG). Foi concebido e vem sendo executado por parceria firmada entre a Secretaria de Estado de Ciência, Tecnologia e Ensino Superior (SECTES/MG) e a Secretaria de Estado de Cultura (SEC/MG), por meio do Arquivo Público Mineiro (APM), órgão coordenador do Projeto e da Superintendência de Bibliotecas Públicas (SUB). Conta ainda com a participação do Arquivo Público de Uberaba. A partir das diretrizes de regionalização da política cultural do Estado, o resultado principal do projeto será a implantação de um polo de digitalização de acervos documentais históricos no Arquivo Público de Uberaba, que deverá atuar como órgão catalizador e executor de projetos de digitalização nas regiões acima mencionadas. O projeto se fundamenta nas metodologias de organização, preservação e digitalização de acervos documentais preconizadas pelo <strong>Programa Conservação Preventiva em Bibliotecas e Arquivos</strong>, nas recomendações do Conselho Nacional de Arquivos (CONARQ) e nas regras do Código de Catalogação Anglo-americano (CCAA2).</p><p><strong><br /></strong></p><p><strong>Abstract</strong></p><p>“The Printing Press Memorial of Uberaba: the creation of the newspapers´ digital library of Triângulo Mineiro and Alto Paranaíba (Minas Gerais, Brazil)” is probably, the biggest project in the field of historical collections preservation ever funded by the Fundação de Amparo à Pesquisa do Estado de Minas Gerais – FAPEMIG. The project was conceived and has been carried out by the Secretaria de Estado de Ciência, Tecnologia e Ensino Superior, along with the Secretaria de Estado de Cultura, through the participation of the Arquivo Público Mineiro, the coordinating body, and the Superintendência de Bibliotecas Públicas. The<em> </em>Arquivo Público de Uberaba is the third body involved with the implementation of the project. In accordance with the regionalization policies of the State, the main achievement of the project shall be the creation of a digitalization center of historical collections in the Arquivo Público de Uberaba. This institution shall act as a regional agency for the development of digitalization projects in the regions of Triângulo Mineiro and Alto Paranaíba. The project is based on the methodologies of organization, preservation and digitalization of historical collections, recommended by the Programa de Conservação Preventiva em Bibliotecas e Arquivos, the guidelines of the Conselho Nacional de Arquivos<em> </em>(CONARQ) and the Anglo American Cataloguing Rules (AACR2).</p><p><strong>Keywords</strong>: Digitalization of Historical collections; Preservation of Historical Collections; Digital Libraries.</p>

AbstractIn this paper, I discuss Kant’s concept-less schematism (KU, 5: 287) in the third Critique1 and make three claims: 1) concept-less schematism is entirely consistent with the schematism in the first Critique; 2) concept-less schematism is schematism with no empirical concept as an outcome; and 3) in accordance with 1) and 2), the imagination is free to synthesize the given manifold and leads to judgements of taste without this meaning either that the categories play no role at all or that these judgements are full-fledged cognitive determining judgements. While most commentators read the freedom of the imagination as its independence from the understanding, I argue that the freedom of the imagination is based on a non-determining employment of the pure concepts of the understanding. The freedom of the aesthetic imagination consists in the temporal schematization of the categories without any complementary determination of the empirical concept.

Digital representation of an artefact is necessary in order to measure, admire and analyse such ancient pieces. For the purpose of storing, recoding and transmitting information, digital photographs may be enough. However, in the examination purposes of an artefact, a 3D presentation is invaluable as it allows the object viewpoint to be modified freely and 3D measurements to be taken on object features. This chapter describes the system by which 3D models from photographs can be acquired, without the need for the calibration of system geometry such as the camera focal length, relative motion of the camera and object, and the relative positions of the camera and object. This system instead computes the representation of all possible objects and camera configurations which are consistent with the given image. The first section discusses how tracking points observed in 2D images allows for the computation of the relative camera and object geometry. The second section discusses the construction of a triangulated 3D model from the object projections. The third section discusses the refinement of the model based on surface texture.

Last train coordination aims to synchronize the arrival and departure times of the last feeder trains and the last connecting trains at transfer stations to improve the transfer accessibility of urban rail networks. This study focuses on the transfer accessibility between last trains with considering heterogeneous transfer walking time. Three mathematical models are developed on the last train timetable optimization. The first model fine-tunes the last train timetable under the given bound of the dwell time. The second one aims to allow the mutual transfers with the prolonged dwell time to maximize the transfer accessibility. A biobjective function is proposed to seek the trade-off between the maximal transfer accessibility and the minimal extension of dwell time. The third model considers the heterogeneity of transfer walking time that is represented as a random variable following a probability distribution. A discrete approximation method is proposed to reformulate the nonlinear model. The embedded Branch & Cut algorithm of CPLEX is applied to solve the models. A real case on the Shenzhen metro network is conducted to demonstrate the performance of the models. The three models all provide better last train timetable than the current timetable in practice. The sensitivity analysis manifests that the third model are always advantageous in the optimization of successful transfer passengers.

AbstractLow-rank parity-check (LRPC) codes are rank-metric codes over finite fields, which have been proposed by Gaborit et al. (Proceedings of the workshop on coding and cryptography WCC, vol 2013, 2013) for cryptographic applications. Inspired by a recent adaption of Gabidulin codes to certain finite rings by Kamche et al. (IEEE Trans Inf Theory 65(12):7718–7735, 2019), we define and study LRPC codes over Galois rings—a wide class of finite commutative rings. We give a decoding algorithm similar to Gaborit et al.’s decoder, based on simple linear-algebraic operations. We derive an upper bound on the failure probability of the decoder, which is significantly more involved than in the case of finite fields. The bound depends only on the rank of an error, i.e., is independent of its free rank. Further, we analyze the complexity of the decoder. We obtain that there is a class of LRPC codes over a Galois ring that can decode roughly the same number of errors as a Gabidulin code with the same code parameters, but faster than the currently best decoder for Gabidulin codes. However, the price that one needs to pay is a small failure probability, which we can bound from above.

Consider a system of formal notations for ordinal numbers in the first and second number classes, with the following properties. Given a notation for an ordinal, it can be decided effectively whether the ordinal is zero, or the successor of an ordinal, or the limit of an increasing sequence of ordinals. In the second case, a notation for the preceding ordinal can be determined effectively. In the third case, notations for the ordinals of an increasing sequence of type ω with the given ordinal as limit can be determined effectively.Are there systems of this sort which extend farthest into the second number class? When the conditions for the systems have been made precise, the question will be answered in the affirmative. There is an ordinal ω1 in the second number class such that there are systems of notations of the sort described which extend to all ordinals less than ω1, but none in which ω1 itself is assigned a notation.1. An effective or constructive operation on the objects of an enumerable class is one for which a fixed set of instructions can be chosen such that, for each of the infinitely many objects (or n-tuples of objects), the operation can be completed by a finite process in accordance with the instructions. This notion is made exact by specifying the nature of the process and set of instructions. It appears possible to do so without loss of generality.

This article aims at analysing the financial and organizational mechanisms of the third sector, namely the non-profit organisations (NPOs) and non-governmental organisations (NGOs). In addition, it focuses on the sustainable development of non-profit and non-governmental organizations. The paper shows that in order to achieve sustainable development and embark upon the path of the “green economy”, NPOs and NGOs need to apply effective financial and organisational mechanisms that would also coincide with their regional priorities and socio-economic objectives that would take into account the environmental specifics and priorities of the given region. The article draws various examples and case studies from various countries and regions around the world to prove its points and provide some guidelines for relevant stakeholders and regulators.

The paper follows the discursive path of one of the dominant, and yet forgotten, terms in the history of ideas - that of ?degeneration.? The richness of uses and various illuminations of the term, as well as its discursive dispersion and blurring, can be seen from the mid 19th until the first decades of the 20th century. The term was almost inescapable in studies of thinkers from various fields starting in the middle of the 19th century, it was successfully adopted from French, Italian and British medical terminology into the art discourse of modern European societies. By focusing on music, the given term became permanently tied to thinking about relations of music and society in the German-speaking world. In a complex discursive development of the term, the author necessarily made certain choices, paying special attention to the Austro-Hungarian psychologists, Max Nordau who carried the concept of ?degeneration? from the medical to the art (and music) sphere. The debate regarding the ?degeneration of music,? was developed chronologically, starting from the Second Reich (being the time in which one of the most controversial composers lived, Richard Wagner). While Wagner developed a theory of ?degeneration? and its overcoming through ?regeneration,? he was still considered ?degenerated.? The given example reveals the complexity of the problem we face when we study the concept of ?degeneration of music.? The consideration is completed with a glance at the life of ?degenerated? musicians and music during the Weimar Republic, that is, their interpretation in the Third Reich.
