This paper describes the control methods, computer simulation and experimental results on the vibration control of the loader arm which is composed of a horizontal slider and a pendulum-type arm suspended from it. In order to achieve high-speed driving and accurate positioning of the loader arm without residual vibration, one of the software-cam curves, termed the ""modified sine curve,"" was applied to drive the loader. The cam curve was described numerically on a personal computer. Three control methods together with highgain feedback control are proposed, in which the path and velocity of the slider and the swing angle of the arm are controlled according to the prescribed software curves. Experimental results show that driving of the loader with such a software curve and control of it under the limitation of the maximum swing angle of the arm are very effective for rejection of residual vibration and accurate positioning of the loader.

Flexible automation for the handling of rigid materials has been available for many years, but similar systems are not as yet available for the handling of non-rigid materials such as doughs. The properties of this type of material require careful control of gripping and manipulation forces to prevent the product from deforming out of tolerance during handling. This paper describes a computationally efficient model that has been developed for use in the planning and control of gripping and manipulation strategies for dough-like materials. In addition to describing the model and the way in which it would be used in an automated handling environment, experimental results demonstrating the accuracy of the model in predicting the behaviour of three doughs are presented.

By the multidomain modelling method, the vibration of a high-speed punching press was modelled and simulated, and the influence of the hydraulic system on the vibration of the punching press and the protection efficiency of the punching press under the overload condition was discussed. The multidomain simulation results were compared with the experimental results to the validity of the multidomain model on a punching press with a hydraulic system for vibration reduction function.

According to bent position and size on two HP-IP bent rotor, and combined with maintenance schedule, this paper puts forward two vibration control methods of low speed dynamic balance on site and high speed dynamic balance after turning. For the bent position in the turbine middle,on the basis of mode decomposition in bent rotor, the research show that balance weight according to a scale in the both ends and middle mainly of the turbine can achieve good results.

The simulation of high-speed reciprocating refrigeration compressors was motivated by the needs of design engi neers. In this paper a mathematical model describing the dynamic behavior of a reciprocating compressor is pre sented. The model is semianalytic in that two types of empirical factors are required to relate phenomena not yet analytically predictable. One type is obtained from steady- state tests and the other by trial and error based on com parison with experimental results. Both analog and digital computers were considered as means of simulating the model. Due to nonlinearities in the model, the digital com puter, using Fortran IV, was selected. To evaluate the sim ulation, a one-quarter horsepower 3600-rpm stock com pressor was modified and used as a laboratory vehicle. A typical correlation between the computer simulation and experimental results is given. In general, good correlation was achieved.

LGLT2 grease is a newly developed lithium based grease used widely in small rolling bearing of instrument and control equipment at high speed. In this paper the curves of the traction coefficient against slide-to-roll ratio of LGLT2 film are measured on a high-speed ball-disc traction force tester under the conditions of the varying rolling speed from 20m/s to 40m/s and the varying load from 20N to 40N.The experimental results show that the grease LGLT2 performs well under above conditions, demonsrating lower traction coefficients with the increasing rolling speed. Both T-J model and an exponential model are employed to fit the experimental data. The results show that there are high consistencies between the experimental data and calculation values obtained from both models.

Abstract Residual vibration control of time-varying redundant open-chain linkage with link and joint flexibility is studied in this paper. The control equations of the flexible open-chain linkage is time-varying. Computer simulation of a planar flexible open-chain linkage with only one degree of redundancy shows that the residual vibration is decreased effectively, thus the endpoint is almost stabel at the fixed point though compensation is not considered.
