In the present paper the digital approaches in industrial design have been developed and described, which reveals interdisciplinary connections for solving the problems of universal design, and searches for new forms of industrial products and investigates new types of industrial design of industrial products. The inversion modeling approach in stages resembles the traditional one, however, to create a surface model, the data obtained by scanning a man-made layout or prototype on a three-dimensional scanner are used. Shaping is based on the results of three-dimensional scanning, i.e. the source data is a point field or a polygonal model. Suitable for modeling a body approaching the final stage of production or for restyling the existing body shape. This approach is more laborious than the traditional one, due to the fact that you need to create a layout or have a ready prototype available, spend time on scanning, however, the maximum approximation of body parameters to a real object or layout is achieved. Criteria for choosing the inversion principle of modeling: according to TK, as a source for design data, a plasticine model, the form is not fractal, does not require changes in time and space, but is a complex closed shell.

Because consider aerodynamics and make its modelling tends to streamline in the car design, this article mainly describes streamline design for product create better use of convenience for the product brings outside the modelling and mental and emotional intangible value, this also is industrial design create products value-added effective means recently, Ultimately this article give some suggestions to designers to put forward some reasonable use of streamline design.

Model making is not only a required course of industrial design major but also a indispensable link to enterprises in developing new products. It represents design conception directly through the rich of materials and processes. To reconstruct shape design of model effectively, we have employed the ISDX module Pro/E software to reconstruct a cartoon crab toy, which explains the reconstruction process based on the model of industrial products and provides design reference for students and practitioners.

Abstract The complex nature of industrial design, which combines functional and aesthetic elements, allows for different modes of protection, with cumulative, separate or partially overlapping regimes applicable according to different legal systems. The legal framework is rapidly changing, especially in Europe where the principle of cumulation of a special sui generis regime for protecting industrial design with copyright rules has been established. Over the last decade, the national courts of some Member States construed the “cumulative regime” with a peculiar meaning, while other courts enforced design rights in line with the interpretation given by the Court of Justice of the European Union. The copyright/design interface is presented here to a wider, non-specialist audience, taking as a starting point the notion of industrial design derived from design studies, on the borderline between art and science. Other challenges which will need to be confronted urgently over the coming years are also raised.

As a very wide range of creation and perception mode, industrial design is reflecting on the various aspects of our “basic necessities”. But because of the geographical and ethnic differences, the single industrial products could not meet the demand of different countries and crowd with different cultural background. Therefore, industrial design based on the localization of regional folk art will become an important strategy to storming the global market. Shaanxi folk art has its own unique design language, accurate and clear design theme, which contains the wisdom of folk artists and their all emotions. Trying to understand Shaanxi Folk Art, it includes three parts: “Form”, “Implication” and “Spirit”, with the elements of Shaanxi folk art, such as creation thought, cultural content, and form constitute and color accumulation; it would nurture the cultural vitality of the localization design.
