For the conditions of an oil fields group characterized by an insufficiently high degree of oil reserves recovery, an algorithm for objects identifying using parameters characterizing the objects’ geological structure and having a predominant effect on the oil recovery factor is proposed. The proposed algorithm allows us to substantiate and use the analogy method to improve the oil production facilities management efficiency by targeted selection of the information about the objects and processes occurring in them, removing uncertainties in low density conditions, the emergence of real-time decision-making capabilities, determination of optimal ways of current problems solving, reducing the probability of erroneous decisions making, justifying the trend towards the goals achieving.

Determination of the initial oil content of a reservoir starts from exploration activities. In the initial stage, the determination of the initial oil reserves is determined. This aims to determine whether the project can be profitable for the company or not. Over time the determination of the initial contents of the oil continues to be carried out to improve the accuracy of calculations using the material balance method.
In the reservoir "ADZ" the type of reservoir is an undersaturated reservoir. This is because the initial pressure in 1980 was 2762.74 psia, while the bubble point pressure was 1625.8 psia. Until 2015 this reservoir was still above the bubble point pressure with a pressure of 1783.55 psia, this reservoir also had no gas cap in the initial conditions. The drive mechanism that works on this field is the solution for the gas drive.
Calculation of the initial content of oil in this final project uses 4 methods, namely volumetric method, material balance method, straight line, and Mbal software. Using the volumetric method, the initial oil reserves obtained at the place amounted to 174063462 STB, while the calculation of the initial oil reserves in place using the material balance method was 176497285 STB. The percentage difference in the initial content of oil between the methods is <5%.

AbstractSandstone oil reserves are composed of a variety of clay minerals, including kaolinite, illite, and chlorite. These clay minerals have a significant effect of reservoir quality. The upper sandstone member (USS) of Zubair Formation is the most plentiful reservoir of the field and it’s part of a large anticline that belongs to an enormous clastic sandstone formation, from the Lower Cretaceous period. A spectral gamma-ray (SGR) log was used to identify the type of clay minerals, depositional environment, and the relationship between total organic matter with uranium concentration. SGR log indicated that USS is composed mainly of chlorite, smectite, and illite clay minerals with the presence of kaolinite as a dominant clay mineral component. Th/U ratio varies between 2.55 and 8.52 and 1.11 to 11.68 in the north and south parts of the field, respectively. The USS had a fluvially dominated, sand-rich deltaic environment based on the Th/U ratio. Furthermore, Th/K cross-plot was found that the south part was more affected by illite compared with the north part, although the presence of kaolinite.

The use of surfactants in the process of water separation from crude oil emulsions formed at extraction is an effective solution in the treatment of crude oil. But perfecting this technology to a higher degree of efficiency, in order to destabilize the emulsion formed, requires the determination of the parameters involved in the design and the correlation of the obtained results. This research also aims at finding optimal solutions that increase the degree of water separation from emulsions using surface-effective solutions to destabilize the emulsion layer. This research was basedon data from two wells that extract oil from Barcu reservoir. To achieve this objective, the composition of crude oil was analyzed, the emulsion characteristics were established and the elected demulsifiers were tested. The study highlights the efficiency of destabilization up to 97.9 mass %.

The efficiency of Cu(In,Ga)(S,Se)2 (CIGSSe) solar cell absorbers can be increased by the optimization of the Ga/In and S/Se gradients throughout the absorber. Analyzing such gradients is therefore an important method in tracking the effectiveness of process variations. To measure compositional gradients in CIGSSe, energy dispersive X-ray analysis (EDX) with different acceleration energies performed at both the front surface and the backside of delaminated absorbers was used. This procedure allows for the determination of compositional gradients at locations that are millimeters apart and distributed over the entire sample. The method is therefore representative for a large area and yields information about the lateral homogeneity in the millimeter range. The procedure is helpful if methods such as secondary ion-mass (SIMS), time-of-flight SIMS, or glow-discharge optical emission spectrometry (GDOES) are not available. Results of such EDX measurements are compared with GDOES, and they show good agreement. The procedure can also be used in a targeted manner to detect local changes of the gradients in inhomogeneities or points of interest in the µm range. As an example, a comparison between the compositional gradients in the regular absorber and above the laser cut separating the Mo back contact is shown.
