Since the last comprehensive publication on Burkina Faso’s flora, further species have been documented in publications and online resources. These thirteen species are listed here with notes on ecology, use and distribution. The number of vascular plants known for Burkina Faso has therefore reached 2080 species.

A new species list of plants and lichens of Russia and neighboring countries has been developed for Turboveg for Windows, the program, intended for storage and management of phytosociological data (relevés), is widely used all around the world (Hennekens, Schaminée, 2001; Hennekens, 2015). The species list is built upon the database of the Russian website Plantarium (Plantarium…: [site]), which contains a species atlas and illustrated an online Handbook of plants and lichens. The nomenclature used on Plantarium was originally based on the following issues: vascular plants — S. K. Cherepanov (1995) with additions; mosses — «Flora of mosses of Russia» (Proect...: [site]); liverworts and hornworts — A. D. Potemkin and E. V. Sofronova (2009); lichens — «Spisok…» G. P. Urbanavichyus ed. (2010); other sources (Plantarium...: [site]). The new species list, currently the most comprehensive in Turboveg format for Russia, has 89 501 entries, including 4627 genus taxa compare to the old one with 32 020 entries (taxa) and only 253 synonyms. There are 84 805 species and subspecies taxa in the list, 37 760 (44.7 %) of which are accepted, while the others are synonyms. Their distribution by groups of organisms and divisions are shown in Table. A large number of synonyms in the new list and its adaptation to work with the Russian literature will greatly facilitate the entry of old relevé data. The ways of making new list, its structure as well as the possibilities of checking taxonomic lists on Internet resources are considered. The files of the species list for Turboveg 2 and Turboveg 3, the technique of associating existing databases with a new species list (in Russian) are available on the web page https://www.binran.ru/resursy/informatsionnyye-resursy/tekuschie-proekty/species_list_russia/.

Spinicauda anurae sp. nov. from the intestine of Duttaphrynus melanostictus [21] collected from industrial area of Aurangabad (M.S.) India. The specimens under investigation show the resemblance in their various body characters with S. cophotis Baylis, [7]. Morphologically the most closely related species is S. voltaensis [2] in Bufo sp. from Burkina Faso, but it differs in smooth cuticle and is less sclerotized.

Three new species of Scaphoideus Uhler, S. dellagiustinai sp. nov. from N. Africa (Burkina Faso) and S. France (Montpelier), S. unimaculatus sp. nov. from E. Africa (Uganda) and S. quangtriensis sp. nov. from Vietnam, are described and figured. The three species are compared to the similar S. rubroguttatus Matsumura and S. baeticus Distant and figures are provided for these and Scaphoideus albosignatus (Distant) (Platyretus), comb. nov.

Two genera of Ceratocanthinae (Coleoptera Scarabaeoidea Hybosoridae), Melanophilharmostes Paulian, 1968 and Pseudopterorthochaetes Paulian, 1977, are evaluated through a cladistic morphological approach, resulting in the transfer of Melanophilharmostes demirei Paulian, 1977 to Pseudopterorthochaetes. All species are catalogued and all except two are keyed. Three new species are described: Melanophilharmostes poggii n. sp. from Annobon island (Ecuatorial Guinea), Pseudopterorthochaetes genierorum n. sp. and P. miomboincola n. sp., both from Mozambique. Melanophilharmostes zicsii (Paulian, 1968) is recorded for the first time for Burkina Faso, marking the northernmost record for African Ceratocanthinae. The records in Sudanian savannas and Miombo woodlands extend the ecological range of the subfamily.

This article describes the herbarium database of the University of Lomé. The database provides a good representation of the current knowledge of the flora of Togo. The herbarium of University of Lomé, known also as Herbarium togoense is the national herbarium and is registered in Index Herbariorum with the abbreviation TOGO. It contains 15,000 specimens of vascular plants coming mostly from all Togo's ecofloristic regions. Less than one percent of the specimens are from neighbouring countries such as Ghana, Benin and Burkina Faso. Collecting site details are specified in more that 97% of the sheet labels, but only about 50% contain geographic coordinates. Besides being a research resource, the herbarium constitutes an educational collection. The dataset described in this paper is registered with GBIF and accessible at https://www.gbif.org/dataset/b05dd467-aaf8-4c67-843c-27f049057b78. It was developed with the RIHA software (Réseau Informatique des Herbiers d'Afrique). The RIHA system (Chevillotte and Florence 2006, Radji et al. 2009) allows the capture of label data and associated information such as synonyms, vernacular names, taxonomic hierarchy and references.

Inselbergs are granitic or gneissic rocky outcrops prevalent in the landscape of southeastern Brazil. These ecosystems represent islands of isolated habitats that harbor a peculiar flora with high richness and endemism. The present study lists the species of vascular plants occurring in the Pedra da Andorinha Complex, located in the municipality of Jerônimo Monteiro/Cachoeiro de Itapemirim, southern Espírito Santo state, aiming to generate subsidies for the creation of a protected area. The survey was performed between July 2017 and October 2018, resulting in a record of 121 species, 96 genera, and 40 families. Bromeliaceae (17), Orchidaceae (12) and Fabaceae (10) were the richest families. The phytophysiognomy of exposed rock vegetation comprises a greater number of species (79 species) compared to the woody rupicolous communities (42). Eighteen of the collected species are threatened by extinction; a new species was discovered; and five were described based on materials previously collected in the studied location — Alcantarea patriae, Anthurium martinellii, Coleocephalocereus uebelmanniorum, Stigmatodon attenuatoides and Pitcairnia azouryi, the first four being endemic to the region. We also found Tabebuia reticulata, a rare species among Brazilian flora. Our results highlight the biological importance of the Pedra das Andorinhas Complex and reinforce the need to create a protected area to preserve biodiversity and the regional natural heritage.
