Social media has changed the modes of all aspects of business operations, particularly human resource management practices. Firms are increasingly using social media tools to facilitate information sharing among their employees in an attempt to improve the innovation process and firm performance. It is expected that using new information technologies such as social media will enable the firm to act proficiently on business opportunities and reconfigure human resources by utilizing networks to routinize the business's knowledge and innovation competencies. This study aims to examine how different purposes of social media use to influence employees' level of job performance directly or indirectly through job satisfaction as a mediator. Two purposes are identified: work-related purposes and personal purposes. A closed questions survey tool was used to gather the data from the employees of three leading organizations in the Tulkarm district. Two hundred eighty-two valid questionnaires were analyzed using SPSS and IBM SPSS Amos 24. The findings revealed that the impact of using social media for work purposes on job performance is fully mediated by job satisfaction, while social media use for personal purposes does not influence job performance directly nor indirectly. The current study enriches the available literature by examining social media use from two perspectives: work-related and personal purposes, thus added value to the available literature, particularly in the Palestinian context. Practically, managers could benefit from the work by adopting relevant strategies to guide this use in a way that motivate the employees towards achieving the goals of the organizations. Such as offering reliable internet services which may help in encouraging the employees or even attracting the ones who are not engaged yet in social media to start using it for work purposes, as for personal purposes, specific policies can be adopted to monitor this use within controls. The article recommends organizations to utilize and direct social media use for work purposes towards achieving the goals of the organizations. Growing importance of technology and digitalization, leaded by globalization, has changed the nature of competition. Innovation becomes evident in that competitive environment, and firms began to transform their human resource capabilities and functions in that direction. It is commonly accepted that the competitive advantage depends on mostly efficient and effective utilization of human resources. Thanks to the communication technologies, social media evolved into the most-preferred method to reach high qualified human resource. Although firms have been active in social media networks for a long time, they have started to use this medium for human resource management purposes, such as internal communication, career management and recruiting process, recently. LinkedIn, Facebook, Twitter and Google+ are primarily addressed social media tools which are used frequently in human resource management processes. In this respect, this study aims to examine the social media tools used in human resources management processes and the effects of social media use in human resource management processes on the human resources management performance and firm’s overall performance. The survey was conducted on human resource managers of 122 firms operating in manufacturing and service industry in Turkey. Data obtained from 122 human resource management managers were analyzed through the SPSS 21.00 statistical packet program. Descriptive analyzes, factor analysis, reliability analysis and correlation analysis have been conducted. Proposed relations were tested through regression analyzes utilizing Hayes’ PROCESS Macro. Research findings displayed that human resources management managers use social media tools frequently for recruitment and employee branding processes, and prefer mostly LinkedIn in all processes of human resources management. Furthermore, regression analyzes results revealed that human resources management performance mediates the effect of social media use at human resources management, on firm’s overall performance. The issue of social media use at human resources management have been examined in recent years and there is a limited number of research on that issue. Thus, this study examining social media use at human resources management and its performance effect is expected to contribute to literature.

In light of future work challenges, actual human resource management (HRM) needs to be redesigned, including long-term development, regeneration, and renewal of human resources, passing from consuming to developing human resources by incorporating the concept of sustainability. Thus, sustainable HRM is seen as an extension of strategic human resources, presenting a new approach to human resource management. The labor market is constantly changing, atypical work acquiring a significant relevance, especially in these current times of coronavirus crisis restrictions. In Romania, promoting the law of teleworking transformed labor flexibility into a topic of interest, and became an increasingly vital requirement for employment and a motivating factor for Romanian employees. In such a context, this paper aims to investigate the link between employee development and worktime and workspace flexibility as relevant characteristics of sustainable HRM, job satisfaction and job performance among Romanian employees in order to identify how to redesign HRM in the face of “future work” challenges. Additionally, the paper aims to examine the impact of different types of flexibility—contractual, functional, working time, and workspace flexibility—in order to highlight the relevance of employee development and employee flexibility as important aspects of sustainable HRM in increasing the overall level of employee job satisfaction. In order to make this possible, an “employee flexibility composite indicator,” which takes into account different types of flexibility, has been developed using feedback from Romanian employees, which was gathered by a national representative survey using multiple correspondence analysis. Furthermore, the impact of both individual and employee flexibility on overall level of job satisfaction has been quantified using binary logistic regression models. Within the research, there is a particular focus on the impact of new types of workspaces (flex office, co-working, total home office, partial home office—FO, CW, HOT, HOP) on job performance, job satisfaction, organizational performance, professional growth and development, social and professional relationships, and personal professional performance as well as on the overall level of work motivation. The empirical results revealed that these new types of workspaces are highly appreciated by employees, generating a growing interest among them. Partial home working, the mix between working from home and working in a company’s office, has been considered an optimal solution in increasing organizational performance, social and professional relationships, learning and personal development, and the overall level of work motivation. The results of the multiple correspondence analysis highlighted a medium level of flexibility among those Romanian employees interviewed, with only one third of them exhibiting high levels of flexibility. The empirical analysis of logistic regression analysis pointed out the role of functional flexibility, working time, and workspace flexibility along with the flexibility composite indicator in increasing the level of job satisfaction in employees. Therefore, if the challenge is to redesign the actual human resource management in order to include the concept of sustainability, attention needs to be on a combination of employee development-flexible time and flexible places, leading to an increase in both employee job satisfaction and organizational performance as important outcomes of sustainable HRM.

The Problem The Indian information technology (IT) industry has shown a phenomenal growth over the last two decades. These changes such as increased global competition and the shift in the blend and level of the workforce have led to an increasing level of uncertainty in the industry. To overcome this unprecedented change, IT firms need to adopt flexible human resource management (FHRM) that has a direct and/or indirect impact on job performance. Therefore, the purpose of this article is to explore the impact of work engagement on job performance through FHRM among IT professionals in India. The Solution The results indicate that the use of FHRM by the employees is an important mediator between the positive relationship of work engagement and job performance. Both work engagement and FHRM contributed to job performance. The sample firm and responses for the study were limited to IT industry domain only. The results suggest that FHRM should be promoted at the employee and firm levels to boost job performance. The Stakeholders Reflecting on the employee engagement and job performance via FHRM would boost the organizational flexibility in the IT industry. FHRM makes the employee more organization fit and more engaged for their respective job. This study may be helpful in unveiling the importance of flexibility in job performance. To the best of the authors’ knowledge, this is the first study that links work engagement, FHRM, and job performance in the Indian IT industry context. The study helps in the development of theory in FHRM and employee engagement.

Purpose: Social media (SM) has gotten developing consideration over the most recent couple of years due to public awareness, a new age of organization, knowledge, and technology reasons, the requirement of SM has increased. The present research concentrates on two companies; namely Al-Futtaim and Al-Etihad group. Design/methodology: The study has identified various contextual relationships to the identified SM. Therefore, structural models of SM for implement human resource management scope activities (HRMSA). The finding presented that the companies with a larger service network is more affected by SM than the newly established company in HRMSA. Furthermore, the study indicated a positive and high relationship. Reasonable ramifications: Obvious comprehension of these variables will assist associations to organize better and deal with their assets in a productive and powerful way. Uniqueness: Contribute to study was identifying the HRMSA to implement SM platforms in (UAE) companies; Moreover, SM has opened a new avenue for HRMSA.

This study aims to determine how the influence of the use of social media (Work-related social media use) and social media (Social-related social media use) on job satisfaction. In addition, to find out how the role of work engagement and organizational engagement, as a mediating variable in the relationship.The research was conducted in Indonesia with the analysis unit of the State Civil Servant (SCS) domiciled in Banda Aceh and Aceh Besar. A sample of 212 respondents obtained by using a questionnaire distribution technique using google form, data analysis using SEM-AMOS.The results of the analysis show that the use of social media (Work-related social media use) has no effect on job satisfaction, but the use of social media (Social-related social media use) is found to increase the job satisfaction of SCS.The results of the analysis also show that the use of social media (Work-related social media use) can increase work engagement, but has no effect on increasing organizational engagement. The use of social media (Social-related social media use) contributes to an increase in work engagement and organizational engagement. Furthermore, it was found that there was a significant effect of work engagement and organizational engagement on SCS job satisfaction. Work engagement and organizational engagement play a role as a mediating variable (partially) in the relationship between social media use (Social-related social media use) and job satisfaction. But there is no role as a mediating variable in the relationship between (Work-related social media use) and job satisfaction.

Purpose – This paper aims to investigate the impact of pay on job satisfaction. Moreover, it studies the changes in the structure of the work force, as well as in the way work is done, on the pay to job satisfaction relationship. Design/methodology/approach – A confirmatory survey is conducted, and results are presented. Findings – The study suggests that gender is a variable affecting the relationship of pay to employees’ job satisfaction. It highlights the roles of education and training in user participation and system usage. The study investigates the current situation in Lebanese commercial banks. Research limitations/implications – The outcome of the study could have significant implications on managerial decision-making in the process of implementing novel technologies in banks. It also points to policy changes needed at the human resource management levels. Practical implications – The study findings suggest a needed change at the policy-making levels of corporate human resource management, as more and more employees are becoming extensive information system users on the job. Social implications – If the suggested practical implications are applied, the social implications derived therefrom will generate a social drift in attitude toward gender differentials. Originality/value – The paper is based on a large sample collection from the services sector, commercial banking in Lebanon. The quantitative survey results highlight a number of correlations and tests a suggested model. It puts forth a linear relationship between the different variables under consideration and suggests recommendations for practitioners.

Although there are numerous and various factors that can affect job satisfaction, human resource management has been identified as one of the most important causes of job satisfaction. For this reason, this paper analyses the impact of human resource management and its activities on job satisfaction in various organizations in the Republic of Srpska, with the main goal to investigate and determine the existence and nature of the relationship between human resource management activities, as an independent variable, and job satisfaction, as a dependent variable. In order to analyse the observed relationship, an empirical research was conducted on a sample of 738 employees from 283 organizations from the Republic of Srpska. The research was conducted using a specially created survey questionnaire, and the reliability of the created instrument was calculated using the Cronbach's Alpha coefficient. Based on the results of the research, which were obtained by correlation analysis, the basic hypothesis was confirmed, which proved that human resource management activities have a statistically significant effect on job satisfaction. Also, all additional hypotheses, claiming that individual human resources management activities (recruitment and selection, training, development and rewarding) have a positive effect on job satisfaction, were confirmed.
