The purposes of this research are to design and implementation of laboratory information systems (LIS) at the Laboratory of Cancer Hospital Dharmais (Dharmais Cancer Hospital). The methods used are the method of analysis, design methodology using Total Architecture Synthesis (TAS) and database design methods. Methods include analysis of the survey directly into the clinical laboratory Dharmais Cancer Hospital, and interviews with users who running the current system in Dharmais Cancer Hospital Clinical Laboratory. The design method using TAS. The results of this study is a single integrated Laboratory Information System applications with other systems that exist in Dharmais Cancer Hospital and also the delivery of feature inspection results by using text service and email, in addition to be taken directly to Dharmais Cancer Hospital and sent to the address. The conclusions from this study are all the transactions contained in Dharmais Cancer Hospital Clinical Laboratory have been computerized and integrated.

The main problems of current system in agriculture ministry is sub-optimal information retrieval of realization and development of agriculture capital and production facilities subvention. Therefore, this research aims to analyze and design information system for monitoring and evaluation of subvention of agriculture capital and production facilities. This information system is developed based on internet technology to help the main team (agriculture minister and technical team of directorate agriculture department), coach team of provincial agriculture office, and technical team of district/city agriculture office to access the accurate information related realization and development of agriculture business any where and any time. It is designed with OOAD (object oriented analysis and design) method by using UML notation (use case diagram, class diagram, component architecture and user interface design). This research produces a design of information system for subvention monitoring and evaluation of agriculture capital and production facilities for the ministry of agriculture RI.

Exports and imports are driving the nation's economy and state revenue sources. Customs as a state agency is assigned to manage the country's income. Customs and its staff are still experiencing difficulties in reporting receipt of export and import of plant or company. One of the policy is issued, each factory or company shall make the information system to determine information about the export of finished goods and raw material imports. The problem is the lack of standardization in the information that must be made by the manufacturer or company. The problem is the lack of standardization in the information that must be made by the manufacturer or company. This study makes the design of information systems based on web-based exports and imports that can be used by all factories or companies in Indonesia, particularly in PT.Windu Eka. The design method used is the SDLC (System Development Life Cycle) Analysis, Design and Testing Prototype. This information system consists of web-based software with PHP programming and MySQL database that aims to provide information online, so the reports more accessible and faster made to be reported to Customs.

This case deals with issues related to conversion of a mostly manual information system to an electronic information system where the new system significantly changes the way users interact with the system. The case focuses on the elements of analysis and design, followed by implementation and results. This case provides scenarios and settings that may be used for role plays and group discussions to highlight the importance and the need for following the accepted systems analysis and design steps in the analysis, design, and implementation of IT systems.

Improvements in the performance of a laboratory computer system do not necessarily require the replacement of major portions of the system and may not require the acquisition of any hardware at all. Major bottlenecks may exist in the ways that the operating system manages its resources and the algorithm used for timesharing decisions. Moreover, significant throughput improvements may be attainable by switching to a faster storage device if substantial disk activity is performed. In this study the fractions of time used for each of the types of tasks a laboratory computer system performs (e.g. applications programs, disk transfer, queue cycler) are defined and measured. Methods for reducing the time fractions of the various types of overhead are evaluated by doing before and after studies. The combined results of the three studies indicated that a 50% improvement could be gained through system tuning and faster storage without replacement of the computer itself
