Cloud computing and cloud data storage have become important applications on the Internet. An important trend in cloud computing and cloud data storage is group collaboration since it is a great inducement for an entity to use a cloud service, especially for an international enterprise. In this paper we propose a cloud data storage scheme with some protocols to support group collaboration. A group of users can operate on a set of data collaboratively with dynamic data update supported. Every member of the group can access, update and verify the data independently. The verification can also be authorized to a third-party auditor for convenience.

The main objective of the study is to minimize interdepartmental communication, potentiation of fast and efficient decision making, and computerization of data. Using software such as MS Excel® and MS Power BI®, a Power BI® tool was conceived to be capable of incorporating, for the entire company, the dashboards that collect the main KPIs of each department. After the tool was implemented, the company's paradigm shift was noticeable. Quickly, the weekly meeting of the planning team began to take place using the MS Power BI® dashboard. In this way, processes were automated and the important data for the normal functioning of the company became accessible to all departments, thus minimizing interdepartmental communication. The chapter shows an Obeya Digital that was implemented in a company in which all the performance indicators of each department are incorporated. In this way, information becomes accessible to all employees and manual data update processes are minimized.

In the last decade, several methods were developed to determine potential supply risks due to short term socio-economic aspects. One of them is the ESSENZ method (comprehensive method to measure and assess resource efficiency of products in the context of sustainable development) developed by the authors. Due to newly available data (e.g., production statistics) the characterization factors (CFs) of the ESSENZ method were updated (based on data from the years 2011 to 2015, with focus on 2014 and 2015) and compared with the original CFs (based on data from the years 2009 to 2013, with focus on 2012 and 2013) for six of the overall eleven categories. The goal of the paper is to analyze if changes in the underlying data are adequately reflected in the CFs of ESSENZ for the considered categories. Further, the updated CFs are provided. The six categories are analyzed by comparing original and updated CFs and clustering them into four groups: declining, emerging, persistent, and non-occurring potential supply risks. Significant differences in the CFs are evaluated by analyzing changes in the underlying data as well as the steps to determine the CFs. It could be shown, that for most of the considered categories and resources changes in the underlying data are reflected adequately in the CFs. However, some methodological challenges of ESSENZ, which limit the reflection of potential supply risks changes, could also be identified.
