The acquisition of knowledge in the area of mathematics, generally requires a series of numerical competencies that are strengthening as school-age progress, this process is sometimes affected by a learning disorder called dyscalculia that it causes severe difficulties in understanding or internalizing arithmetic contents that lead to mathematical reasoning. The objective of this article is to provide relevant information on the causes of dyscalculia, repercussions on learning and the importance of early pedagogical intervention, through a descriptive study, a bibliographic review of the topic and analysis of various sources have carried out, which allowed formulating conclusions regarding the teaching and learning of mathematics. These data provided the necessary information to determine that dyscalculia is a condition that requires treatment that includes collaborative work between specialists, parents, and teachers. Early diagnosis and the use of appropriate pedagogical intervention strategies and the incorporation of innovative methodologies in the teaching-learning process will allow effective long-term results.

The T-Scan is an effective patient education tool for illustrating existing occlusal pathology. It presents complex occlusal information in a visual format that is easily understood. The T-Scan applies to all stages of the teaching/learning process because its recorded data forms the framework upon which a doctor/patient discussion can begin regarding the patient's occlusal disease manifestations, the potential benefit of treatments, and the risks of not undergoing corrective treatment. When used as part of an educational strategy, the T-Scan can lead the patient to accept procedures that would benefit their long-term dental health. This chapter outlines the four stages of creating optimum dental health, the steps required to perform effective teaching and learning, the differing styles of teaching and learning utilized in educational forums, and how to best employ the technique of Feature, Function, and Benefit. A case study illustrates how T-Scan data can educate a patient about their own occlusal problems.

BACKGROUND While traditional video games provide amusement, with the advent of serious games (SG), it has raised the potential and the results that can be achieved from the games, these artifacts, whose main differentials are the fact that they are naturally playful and motivators. While in the 1990s, the games aimed only at entertainment, nowadays teaching and learning combine with entertainment and become the main goals to be achieved through the SG. A strong example of SG application is for motivation and help in the formal or special teaching-learning process acting as a pedagogical tool. In this sense, the following question arises: What are the characteristics and interface resources considered adequate to compose the interface of a serious game that have educational objectives directed to people with Williams-Beuren Syndrome? Here's the motivation guide for this article. OBJECTIVE Elementary mathematics education for people with Williams Syndrome METHODS An exploratory and descriptive study,using qualitative and quantitative approaches. RESULTS The results portfolio obtained from the WBS user experience assessment presents the confidence rectangle within the "desirable" quadrant. This is what a project program is, since scientifically this is one of the biggest difficulties reported by unlock authors, it is not possible to teach content and maintain playfulness. CONCLUSIONS The prototype of the game here called SoundMath, was intended to meet a demand for learning elementary arithmetic for people with WBS, from a playful and immersive process. Through the results of the evaluations carried out, this work provides relevant information that can encourage the development of this game, as well as help companies in the educational segment, and contribute to the improvement of the quality of the applications targeted to this type of public. Other important point to be highlighted from this work is with regard to the social aspect that this work encompasses, because it is the development of a solution applied to a daily problem of this public. But we did not just develop; we decided to go beyond and document the entire process of engineering and gamification, based on data obtained throughout this study of design and design of a serious educational game prototype that contained in its layout the ideal characteristics to mediate a teaching-learning process from its use, as well as document and outline a methodological process that may serve as the basis for further studies. Thus, we believe that the results and reflections raised from this study may, in the future, broaden the knowledge about the design of serious games for people with cognitive disabilities. Dyslexia is a specific learning disorder characterized by difficulties in reading, writing, and spelling due to compromised phonological processing skills. Treatment of dyslexia solely with medical support is far-fetched. However, it can be surmounted by the combination of special education interventions and supportive psychosocial care. Suitable approaches coupled with beneficial learning strategies enable dyslexic learners with consummate linguistic achievement. Although dyslexia research offers an increased understanding from a biological standpoint, the knowledge gap on the educational front is unfortunately persistent. To this end, this paper revisits the teaching-learning aspects of dyslexia. Teaching principles and approaches, strategies to support learning, and personalized educational plans are discussed in detail. Acknowledging the difficulty, familiarizing with the approaches, and attaining successful outcomes via essential practices emphasize the inclusiveness of dyslexic learners in the curriculum. We contend that the educational insights into dyslexia will provide informed teaching and learning solutions.

Cardiovascular disease (CVD) is the most common serious of long term type2 diabetic’s mellitus. It is estimated that most of the T2DM patients causes death due to CVD. Around 90% of CVD can be prevented with proper prediction of diabetes. Type 2 diabetes mellitus begins with insulin resistance, a condition in which it fails to respond to insulin properly. This paper explores Hybrid Wavelet Neural Network to train the system to learn the pattern to predict the disease and Self Organized map method is used for information clustering and visualization of excessive dimensional records to predict the disease with less parameter high accuracy which can help to prevent the disease. Modified Teaching Learning Based Optimization algorithm achieves the optimized learning from the pertained network. Teaching and learning based optimized technique yield better accuracy with a dataset of 770 patients. The measure of accuracy is compared with other algorithms and it is analyzed for further ratification.

Vygotsky has imprinted many influences on learning and teaching learning development. Although his main works focus on psychological aspects of children’s learning, it is very useful both for the teachers and researchers in understanding and exploring the best they can do for the development of the children’s learning. One of Vygotsky’s legacy can be traced in the process of teaching and learning writing in which this skill is regarded as social process. Scholars believe that his idea on sociohistorical perspective becomes the foundation in giving scaffolding in teaching writing, collaborative work activity in writing lesson, as well as teacher reflection on his teaching and learning activities in the classroom, as much as the teaching and learning writing as social process. This article, therefore, represents review on how Vygotsky’s influences on language learning and teaching development, particularly in writing which is considered as social process.

<p class="JLDAbstract" align="left">Social networks facilitate activities that promote involvement, collaboration and engagement. Modelling of best practices using social networks enhances its usage by participants, increases participants confidence as to its implementation and creates a paradigm shift to a more personalized, participatory and collaborative learning and a more positive attitude towards its implementation. The contribution of the study described in this paper resides in the enhancement of teaching and learning methods that make use of the social network environment and shifts the focus of learning from the teacher to the learner. This breaks down the boundaries of time and place for teaching and learning. Another contribution is the strengthening of teachers’ personal and professional capabilities and the promotion of teaching-learning processes transpiring beyond the classroom boundaries by sharing contents, current communication, active learning and collaborative work. </p>

Many students when entering higher education, mainly in courses of exact or natural sciences and engineering, have difficulties in following the initial contents taught, due in part to the lack of knowledge arising from unique traditional methodology applied during their training. Some graduations even promote leveling courses in order to try reducing the deficits brought from previous education. Subjects such as Differential and Integral Calculus that are on the curricular basis of these courses, show high failure rates, strongly linked to gaps in previously acquired knowledge in mathematics. These factors directly contribute to the increase in retention rates and school dropout. So, there is a relentless search for improvement in the teaching-learning of these sciences, in order to motivate students, still in required education to knowledge building. It is commonly observed that young people are very attracted to the scientific disclosures broadcast by the media, as can be seen in the investigative series, which use forensic expertise for solving cases of a judiciary nature. In this sense, this work aimed to summarize studies that have been developed and implemented about the use of forensic sciences in the promotion of teaching-learning in secondary schools. The methodology was based on exploratory qualitative research. The results are based on experiences that occurred in the school context in USA, Brazil and Portugal, where it appears that students are more involved in the development of educational activities when integrated in a forensic like context, benefiting from collaborative work when trying to arrive to a common goal, similar to the assignment of a true forensic scientist. This allows them to recognize the importance of these contents, facilitates the presentation before the classroom, while improving the interaction with the social environment in which they are inserted. Teacher’s feedback confirms the beneficial implementation of these activities in the educational context and considers it with potential to attract attention and awaken the interest of these students in the sciences, thus improving the comprehension of theoretical concepts of the contents integrated in the school curriculum. The interdisciplinarity implemented on the production and socialization of knowledge is necessary and decisive to promote effective teaching and learning. The Forensic Sciences contemplate this interdisciplinarity and contribute that students feel more involved and motivated in learning, reducing retention rates and school dropout and increasing the search for science and technological careers.

Advanced pedagogy is the way to enhance teaching and learning performance for non-financial students. There are different methods in use across the globe for innovative teaching of higher learning students. The use of multimedia and technology empowers educational processes by increasing interaction between teachers and students. Hybrid teaching and blended learning follow an integrated approach to teaching that blends with students' interests and teacher's personality that needs curriculum-appropriate methods. This includes e-learning in addition to the face-to-face teaching that is customarily used in teaching . While teachers are still an authority figure in a student-centered teaching model, they both play an equally active role in the learning process. Teachers should thus apply themselves to utilizing innovative methods so that the students’ learning process is as free-flowing and that the methodology used creates an atmosphere adaptable to conducive learning environment. The application of innovative teaching and learning methods is critical if we are to motivate and enculturate a spirit of learning and cooperation by encouraging others and doing your share on the part of students. The role of education is to ensure that while academic personal are involve in active teaching, an effort is made to ensure alignment between what is taught and what is comprehensible in relation to students. Linguistically diverse, cultural backgrounds and the familiarity with the expected standards have profound effects on teaching methods. Students must frequently engage in collaborative learning activities such as selecting, organizing, locating, synthesizing and using relevant information sources to construct meaning about some particular knowledge. Such activities have been assumed to lead to higher levels of knowledge acquisition and learning. The goal of this study is an ongoing and progressive examine of how Edger Dale's Cone of Experience and Bloom's taxonomy is employed to positively influence student learning. In this conceptual research the methodology used was hinged on analytic processes for material already published in this area. Key variables under investigation forecast on integration of Dales and Blooms theories for theoretical perspectives with the researchers pedagogy known as the NFT. The researcher implemented the NFT pedagogy in an academic setting to non-financial student in a period of 12 months and observed positive results.The researcher anticipates that the findings of this study will contribute to the enhancement of both teaching-learning and assessment process, which hopefully will uplift the learner to learn at a deeper level in a manner that incorporates small-group learning, achieve higher grades, retain information longer, acquire greater communication and teamwork skills, and gain a better understanding of the module.

Communicative competence is one of the key competences in initial teacher training, and the development of this competence is made more significant by coordinated planning across several subjects. Since communication is fundamental to the teaching and learning process, care must be taken to enhance its written, oral and non-verbal aspects. In this study we analyze university students’ self-perception of their communicative competence after they have completed an interdisciplinary project that integrated various communication skills through active and coordinated teaching-learning methodologies in academic-professional collaboration, theoretical sessions and workshops with experts. To do so, we implemented a longitudinal training program with 53 students from the Degree in Primary Education in which the students created a written story in the first year before transforming the story into oral and scenic formats in later courses. Based on the rubrics of the generic competences of the University of , we designed an mixed questionnaire. After the questionnaire had been validated by experts, the data were collected. Our results show a generally positive and critically constructive assessment. They also indicate an increase in student motivation, since the workshops help students better understand the contents of the subjects, thus underlining their practical nature. Interdisciplinary collaborative work that implements comprehensive and inclusive learning experiences should therefore be encouraged in initial teacher training programs.
