This study aims to develop an appropriate and practical math textbook in the unit of the Least Common Multiple (LCM) and the Greatest Common Divisor (GCD) using Realistic Mathematics Education (RME) in order to increase elementary students’ learning motivation. This is a Research and Development (RnD) type of study with the Plomp model. A mathematician and a teacher assessed the validity of the textbook. The practicality of the textbook was assessed by two teachers and 15 students using questionnaires. The students' motivation was assessed by the students using questionnaires as well. The results showed that the textbook was appropriate with an average of 83.32%, the respondent results from the students’ views were practical with an average of 82.33% and very practical with an average of 87.6 from the teachers’ view. This study also found that the textbook increased the students’ learning motivation by 6.45%.

So far, the concept of the Greatest Common Divisor (GCD) and the Least Common Multiple (LCM) of two numbers are still being taught procedurally whether it is seeking multiples or by understanding prime numbers and prime factorization. This way often makes the students difficulties in determining the GCD and LCM. To overcome such things, the authors will offer a solution in learning mathematics material GCD and LCM in elementary school taught with Approach Realistic Mathematics Education (RME) food package presentation model. Mathematical learning with this approach is believed to make students learn as if they find themselves GCD and LCM concepts learned and will make learning more meaningful so that ultimately will improve students' understanding on GCD and LCM concepts.

This study aimed to develop valid and practical circle materials based on a realistic mathematics education approach to facilitate the mathematical understanding ability of eighth-grade students of SMP/MTs. This research and development used the ADDIE development model covering the Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation stages. The subjects of the small group trial were 6 eighth-grade students of SMPN 21 Pekanbaru. The data were collected using a validity sheet for validity and a questionnaire for practicality. Based on the results of the analysis of the obtained data, the average validity reached 85.5 with a very valid category and average practicality of 93.45 with a very practical category. Therefore, it can be concluded that the developed materials are valid and practical.

Kata kunci: Hasil belajar matematika,  motivasi belajar, Pendidikan Matematika Realistik  ABSTRACTThe present study examines the effect of realistic mathematics education using students’ work sheet (LKS) on mathematics achievement viewed from students’ learning motivation. The study was quasi experimental by using 2 × 2 factorial design. The population in this study was the fifth grade primary school students of cluster 2 from Bajawa sub-district, Ngada regency, Flores. Samples in this study were 80 students which were chosen randomly . There were two collected data; motivational questionnaires and multiple choice instruments. Data were analyzed by using double stripe variant analysis and continued with Tukey test. The result of study showed that: 1) mathematics achievement of students following realistic mathematics education was better than the students following conventional learning (FA = 2,95, p < 0,05); 2) there was an interaction between learning and learning motivation on mathematics achievement (FAB = 3,13, p < 0,05); 3) to the students having higher learning motivation, mathematics achievement of students following realistic mathematics education was higher than mathematics achievement of students following conventional learning (Qobserved= 4,61 danQtable5% = 3,96, Qobserved>Qtable); 4) to the students having lower learning motivation, mathematics achievement of students following conventional learning was higher than mathematic achievement of students following realistic mathematics education (Qobserved= 5,76 danQtable5% = 3,96, Qobserved>Qtable). Key words: Mathematics achievement, learning motivation, Realistic Mathematics Education

This research aims to determine the influence realistic Mathematics Education approach on motivation and learning achievements of elementary school students in West Aceh. This research uses a quantitative approach, it is a quasi-experimental type research and the population fifth grade elementary school students in West Aceh. The research samples were selected using a simple random sampling. The data collection was conducted by means of questionnaires and tests. The collected data were tested using a MANOVA test. Based on the data analysis results, it was shown that: there is a significant influence from realistic Mathematics Education approach on motivation and learning achievements of fifth grade elementary school students in West Aceh. The proof showed that 35 fifth grade students from Peureumee State Elementary School who were respondents in this research had an average of 80.57 for learning motivation and an average of 70.74 for learning achievements. Whereas students from Peunaga Cut Ujong State Elementary School who were in the control group had an average of 69.15 for learning motivation and an average of 60.24 for learning achievements. This shows that the motivation and learning achievement between students who were given RME approach are higher than those who were given conventional teaching. And the analysis results on F value for Pillae Trace, Wilk Lambda, Hotelling Trace, and Roy’s Largest Rootx showed a significance of 0.000, or lower than 0.05. This means that the F values were all significant. They indicate that “there is a significant influence from realistic Mathematics Education approach on motivation and learning achievements of fifth grade elementary school students.” Furthermore, a test on determinant coefficient showed that RME’s influence on motivation was 60.2%, and on learning achievements was 20.1%, and the rest was influenced by other variables not included in the study.

Based on experience and reflection multiplication of fractions learning at fifth class SDN 33 VII Koto Padang Pariaman district. Student learning outcomes is still low and the learning undertaken by teachers arenot using realistic problem to beginning of learning. So the author through this research trying to improve student learning outcomes in subjects multiplication of fractions. The purpose of this study was to describe the planning, implementation and learning outcomes. This research is action research (class action research), this study used a qualitative and quantitative approach. Learning is used by using the realistic mathematics education approach. After doing research hence an increase in student learning outcomes in multiplication of fractions lesson using realistic mathematics education approach. It can be seen, both from the ability of teachers in designing learning from 83% up to 94%, implementation of learning increased 94% from 77%, and learning outcomes increased to 86,87 from 74,04.
